Chapter 330: Payback (1)

Frank was facing another overlord. It was clear at that point. At first, Luke decided to forget about him, but leaving such a troublesome guy alone wouldn’t be a wise move in the long run. So, Luke decided to watch the battle from afar and deal with the winner after it. Things would be easier after that. Who knows if others would get in his way, so watching him for a while would prevent that. Luckily enough, it didn’t seem like it would be too hard.

Luke found the battle taking place on a massive destroyed farm. Just as he had expected, both sides had a flying fortress, but they weren’t doing anything with it. Luke almost could feel the gaze of the overlords as they watched the battlefield and watched their minions killing each other. In that aspect, the leader of the lizardmen had the advantage since they could keep spawning their minions. That wasn’t the only thing on their side... They also already had a lot more minions on their side. Still, Luke could feel many presences inside Frank’s fortress... He was holding back and trying to lure the enemy to her closer.

"The lizardmen are level 280 and the humans are level 200... But they have the overlord skills on their side, so things are even, even though the enemy has five times more pawns," Luke thought.

Although the humans were the minority, Luke still could see ten thousand of them fighting there. Frank really had moved around the world and looked for people to swear allegiance to him... While the lizardmen were fighting just by charging without thinking about anything, the humans held their ground by using formations and deploying their fighters in the right places. Those who were most sturdy stayed in the front and focused solely on stopping the enemies. Those who were more balanced and agile stayed on the sides to help the most troubled places of the formation. In contrast, those who had the highest attack power stayed in the back and focused solely on attacking the enemies from a safe position.

"I suppose he didn’t sacrifice any of them, to summon clones... He would lose the loyalty of many if he did that, after all," Luke thought.

Luke knew that the battle might last for a while, and he couldn’t turn the corpses that he found into skeletons yet. Otherwise, he might alert both overlords. So, he found himself bored. Just to pass the time and because that might help him someday, he decided to learn Rina spells.

Strength Support: increases your Strength by ten points per level for as long as the skill is active. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Cost: 10 mana per second and per level.

Price: 100.000 gold coins.

All the other spells also had the same merits and demerits. While currently, he could keep all of them active for as long as he wanted, eventually, that won’t be the case, and Luke will have to choose only a few, but he was fine with that. That was why he had those rings... To make the skeletons give him mana constantly.

While Luke was bored out of his mind and considering interfering on the battlefield and killing both overlords, several hours passed. Eventually, despite the exhaustion, the human side began to push the lizardmen and win the battle. They were quite the hardcore bunch. Even though they were covered in blood, sweat, and dirty, they kept fighting like madmen...

Without any other choice, the leader of the lizardmen probably used all the mana that he could use to summon an even more massive army of lizardmen... They began to land on the area like it was raining... it was hard to say for sure, but he probably summoned half a million monsters... Which left Luke speechless. He thought that he was fighting on the same scale as those guys, but it seemed that he still had a long way ahead of him.

To counter that, Frank sent all the remaining humans that were in his fortress to join the fight. Their levels... all of them were above 250. Instead of using any formation, they headed toward the battlefield like they were mad bulls, and when they reached the enemies... They cut through their lines as if they were made of paper. They were the elite among their followers of, Frank... facing them won’t be easy if it comes to a confrontation. Even more so if Luke decides not to kill them. After all, Frank probably had under his wing most of the survivors from Earth...

"It is annoying and loud... my cosncience is so fucking annooying and so fucking loud..." Luke said while massaging his temples. "To avoid that headache, I need to deal with Frank as quickly as possible... then his followers will be free from his control."

When Luke thought of that, he saw something leaving the flying fortress of the lizardmen’s side and then headed to the battlefield. However, before that thing could land, another similar object left Frank’s fortress, and both of them collided in the air. Frank sure knew how to make a dramatic entrance... In the front, he protected his people from facing an overlord that probably could annihilate all of them. Still, he probably was thinking of getting all that experience for himself...

Frank and the lizard overlord punched each other in the air for whatever reason. Each of their strikes made the air around them vibrate, so it was clear that both of them were pretty strong. Still, Luke felt that something was off... He couldn’t quite tell what it was, but something smelled fishy...

Eventually, both of them landed, and the humans and monsters gave them space to fight, still in a fight like that. It was clear that even by staying a few kilometers away, it wouldn’t mean that they would be safe... still. Despite that, while punching each other and opening holes on the ground, they never killed anyone around them...
