Chapter 361: Tower (7)

Luke wondered if he hadn’t gone insane after all those fights. He had thought that he had become a survivor, after all, that mess. Still, it seemed that he had become a scientist instead of trying to understand how the organs of monsters worked. While he was in that dimension, he went as far as dissect his own summoned monster to understand how the heck their bodies worked.

In the end, Luke succeeded in making the weapon that he wanted, but it was rather limited since he couldn’t make a sword that could eat monsters. It would take too long, after all. Waiting for the digestion process was too troublesome, as well, and the sword would have to throw away many parts of the monster’s body. So, Luke made it work by draining the monster’s blood. The sword came with some limitations thanks to that, so it couldn’t make his skills level up, but it could increase his parameters.

Essence Sword

By draining the blood of an enemy, you can convert it into an essence that can strengthen yourself. The more blood and the richer it is in terms of mana, the more status points you can obtain.

Strength Essence: 0/5000, Speed Essence: 0/5000, Intelligence Essence: 0/5000, Endurance Essence: 0/5000, Resistance Essence: 0/5000, Focus Essence: 0/5000,

Luke could decide which essence the blood would turn into, unlike the Vampire sword. Still, based on those numbers, only some high-level monsters could be eaten and make his parameters increase.

"I guess it would be too convenient if I could use small fries and grind to increase my parameters," Luke thought.

As for its appearance, the sword had many dents on it, and the blade looked like the teeth of a shark. It was quite nasty to imagine someone or something being cut by that. It certainly wasn’t because of Luke’s stress. He only focused on making the weapon have that effect. Regardless, Luke decided to look for a world that had a lot of high-level monsters there, and he was planning to use them to increase his focus to crazy levels.

Luke found a new planet with monsters pretty soon, but he had to skip that one since it was a world filled with trents. Eventually, he found another one filled with red orcs, and they were pretty strong. The perfect targets for his goal.

For whatever reason, even though they had axes and looked like the most basic example of melee warriors, they still could use mana. They also seemed pretty smart since they didn’t ignore Luke and stared at his fortress when he appeared before them. Regardless, time was of the essence, even more so considering that Luke had to spend one hundred points of mana every second to use the Essence Sword.

When he landed in the area, dozens of them jumped on Luke, but he stabbed one in the neck and froze the legs of the other using his katana. Regardless, the first target lost all of its blood after one second, and the frozen ones didn’t last much longer. The sword could drain that much blood that fasts when hitting a vital spot. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Your Focus has increased by one point.

"Wow, it really works..." Luke thought while frowning.

That was his creation, but Luke still felt that it might not work in the end. Using that as a fuel to motivate himself, Luke began to work faster. Eventually, the red orcs tried to crush him with their sheer numbers while coming from all directions, but that hadn’t been enough. Regardless, for every four slain monsters, Luke’s focus increased by one point, so that small army increased his by 105 points in ten minutes...

Luke immediately used Clairvoyance to check the areas around, and he found some traces of armies moving on the ground. He headed in that direction and then found another army of red orcs attacking a small town. Luke hadn’t noticed that before, but it seemed that they were working for an overlord. Still, aside from the fact that they were working together, the red orcs were too unorganized.

"I suppose their master headed to that structure as well..." Luke thought. "Taking an army with them to a place that they couldn’t check from a distance would be rather dangerous."

Now that Luke thought about it, he will have to use a lot of mana to cross the distances between the planet Cresta mentioned and the structure, but that was a problem for later. He resumed his work without bothering to see who was in that town. He wouldn’t need followers to help him with his current work. In fact, the less help he gets, the better.

It seemed that the people of that world were a mix between elves and dwarves. It was quite the odd combination to see hairy people with pointy ears. Nevertheless, those people didn’t inherit the best characteristics of each race, which were the bow, magic, and the ability to craft and create new things. Hence, they were having a hard time protecting their homes.

Some of the dwarves, that was what Luke decided to call them, resigned to their fate when they saw a third party joined the fight. It was clear that they didn’t come to help since they didn’t join their side to defend the town. Still, Luke only attacked the red orcs, and when the last one fell, he disappeared without a trace. The same thing happened many times in the next two days until Luke finished the last of the red orcs by himself...
