Surviving the Apocalypse While Being Tempted by an Elf and a Dark Elf
Chapter 376: Will (4)
Luke was being watched, probably by the being who made that tower... that was annoying since he revealed a lot of his skills in the last few battles. In any case, was him being watched from the beginning of his most recent actions drawing to him the attention of someone troublesome? It was hard to say... Nevertheless, he had to keep moving.
"It doesn’t matter... I will destroy this shithole," Luke said.
Luke began to attack again, but before he could do much, he felt some mana around him, and in the next moment, he was forcefully teleported. All of a sudden, Luke saw himself on another weird floor. This time, they could easily see the walls and the ceiling. Rather, they were too close. It seemed that they were made of silver-like material that made Luke feel dizzy just by looking at it, only five meters away from him. Since the floor, the walls, and ceiling were made of that, Luke felt and for quite a while. Eventually, he got used to it and realized that it wasn’t silver. It was chromium. Chromium is the hardest metal known to man. While most people may not have heard of chromium, more than likely, they had heard of stainless steel. Chromium is the key ingredient in stainless steel. Thus it is used in a variety of settings...
"I guess this is a labyrinth... Asshole, making me waste time with your fucking games," Luke said after clicking his tongue.
Since Luke wasn’t planning to do the things as the creator of that structure had planned, they forcefully made Luke move to the next level. Attacking and damaging such an environment will probably be a pain in the ass.
Luke tried to punch it, and he made quite the noise, but no damage was caused. He made a Projection of the frozen world katana and slashed with all his might, and he didn’t get any response. He also used Lightning, and once again... It wasn’t chromium but a similar metal that had high resistance to magic. Luke wanted an armor made of something like that to protect him against Aivern attacks, but it seemed like rather heavy metal. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"No point in thinking too much about it. Let’s just find the path to the next area," Luke thought.
Luke made sure to send his shadow clone ahead in order to avoid surprises. The metal was also messing with his magic senses, so he had to do something like that. The number of overlords that could have reached that point was rather small, but it didn’t hurt to be careful.
"It doesn’t seem like I will find the entrance to the next level anytime soon, so I suppose I should use this chance to get stronger," Luke thought.
Luke planned to use his shadow clones to do some training, but it was rather difficult to use use them when he had to turn to the side and change directions all the time, thanks to the labyrinth. Thankfully, the labyrinth didn’t have dead ends. It was basically a single path that was full of twists and turns. Luke also didn’t find any traces of battles, so he felt like he was just being messed with...
"Calm down... Turn this situation into an opportunity," Luke said after he took a deep breath. "This is all a test to see who can find that relic first... It can also be a trap to lure fools thirsty for power, but I will leave that aside for the time being. Since the creator of his place teleported me, it is obvious that this entire thing isn’t perfect. I can use it in my favor."
Luke’s first idea was to manipulate that metal, but it seemed that the labyrinth worked as a single structure. Considering its high resistance to magic, then his options were limited. Still, that was a good chance for him to think further on his anti-mage strategy.
"I suppose with my current strength, I can’t damage this, and since I can’t buff myself with mana, then I need to get stronger physically," Luke thought. "Get stronger and find a way to deal with this thing rich in mana."
There was also possible that the whole labyrinth was a Projection, so Luke could use that as a first tip to find a solution to his problems. He could use Projection, so he could more or less recognize others, but he had no idea how he could cancel one aside from destructing it.
"If I can’t find that answer, perhaps I can look for the weakness of this material... Still, to project something, I need to understand it first, and I don’t understand this metal," Luke thought.
Luke decided to check his options by going to his dimension and then checking the shop. After looking around for a while, he concluded that his best shot would be the Soul Eater Sword. However, he doubted that he could damage the walls with its current power. Not to mention, that was supposed to work mainly against spells in their most basic form. Projection was anything but basic.
Unlike the Frozen World Katana, Luke couldn’t use more mana to make it stronger... Still, perhaps Luke could do something about that by using Transmutation. It would be pretty expensive, but it was better than wasting time. Besides, that weapon would come in handy. Regardless, Luke decided to check the shop for the ring, and he found it.
Soul Eater Ring
It grants you the power to steal one hundred points of mana from a target when causing damage.
Intelligence + 150, Resistance + 150
Durability: 120/120
Cost: 32.000.000
Since it was a tier sixteen ring, it was insanely expensive, and the effect was predetermined. It would be better if the mana stole was equivalent to the damage caused, but things can’t be that convenient. Still, Luke was determined to make it do with the cards in his hands. If all things fail, he could always...
