Chapter 380: Payback (3)

Although the bat man hesitated for a short moment due to Luke’s fighting spirit, he soon recovered and proceeded to attack him again. He dashed while aiming his right claw toward Luke’s neck, but Luke moved to the side as soon as the enemy charged and then punched the enemy’s left side. The bat man groaned a little, but soon he recovered when a small cut appeared on Luke’s face. Weirdly enough, the blood that fell from the wound flew to the enemy at that exact moment.

The bat man tried to kick Luke, but he blocked the attack with both arms, not before he was sent flying in the opposite direction. It was only natural since that had been a roundhouse kick with all the eight of the enemy behind. Luke didn’t take his eyes from the enemy, so he noticed that the bat man suddenly looked more pleased after the kick.

"It seems he has Vampirism and some sort of natural skill from his species that make blood being drawn to him," Luke thought. "Both of them work to improve his physical condition and heal him. No... The blood improves his condition because he is a bat."

The enemy had a troublesome set of skills, but Luke was used to that. Instead of letting something like that bother him, he just prepared for the enemy’s next move. Even with Rage and Berserker, Luke still was weaker, but he could make up for it with his vast experience fighting against more powerful enemies. Having his own class with him would make things easier for Luke, but he still was fine with that. He had a strategy of how to deal with those troublesome claws.

When the batman prepared to charge again, he noticed that Luke’s hands were gathering energy. None of them could use mana, so he knew that it had to be an attack based on stamina. Such an attack was bound to have limitations, so the bat man decided to charge once again. His claws almost cut Luke’s neck directly, but they just scratched him due to the blast of wind. Luke Dodged again and used that chance to punch the elbow of the enemy. Both of them heard the sound of something cracking.

The bat man got a bit surprised since Luke gathered a lot of energy in such a short amount of time, but he wasn’t done yet. Luke prepared to punch the enemy’s face with his left hand, and then the bat man tried to block using his other arm. However, that had been just a feint. Luke also landed a roundhouse kick that made him lose the air and roll on the floor several times. He was supposed to hit the wall of light that was keeping them locked, but the bat man made sure to put his hands on the floor to stop his speed.

"I suppose he also will suffer damage if he hits that... Still, is his arm already healed?" Luke frowned while looking at the elbow that he certainly broke a few seconds ago. "He didn’t hit me, so how did he heal so fast?"

The enemy had more than a few tricks up his sleeve. Still, something like that was a common occurrence for Luke, so he wouldn’t let that bother him for long. His left hand still was charging Concentrated Strike, so a big one to the face of the enemy was coming. The only issue was that Luke was also losing stamina pretty fast.

The enemy charged again as if that was the only thing he could do. However, at the last moment, he flapped his wings and then gained a boost in speed that made him catch Luke by surprise. The enemy’s claws pierced Luke’s neck a bit, but then he punched the enemy in the guy and pushed him away. He wished that he could have charged his attack for a while longer, but he didn’t have any other option...

Still, the enemy didn’t even fall with that attack. He just put his feet on the ground and then decreased his speed. Such a punch was a lot stronger than the previous one, but the enemy just shook it off. Luke wondered if it was due to the wound on his neck. A lot of blood came all at once, but then it stopped. It was definitely due to that guy’s power...

"His Vampirism is a lot more potent than mine, probably because of his species..." Luke thought. "In a war of attrition, I will only lose eventually."

If both of them caused one hundred points of damage with each attack, things might end in a draw if their skills were on the same level. However, while Luke recovered fifty points of health with his attacks, the enemy recovered more than double of that. Luke also felt that the bat man also could use for health... And even if his health is full, it can keep increasing as long as he gets blood. Putting the blood aside, that is a skill that Luke wanted.

"If he is getting hurt, then it means that his health isn’t high... He probably can’t keep it up for long between battles," Luke thought. "In that case, as long as I finish things quickly... Still, there is also the issue that this barrier can’t last forever. My options are going all out to defeat him as soon as possible, or going slowly and waiting until I have all my cards back."

As usual, Luke came up with his answer pretty fast. It wasn’t his style to take the easy way out no matter the situation. So, he only had to do one thing... To accomplish what he wanted... He just sat on the ground and looked at the enemy. The bat man couldn’t help but frown. Luke looked weak, but not insane, after all...

The bat man finally noticed that Luke was planning something when he felt him gathering energy in his fists. If that was a feint, it seemed like a pretty stupid one. Not only was his mobility limited in that position, but he also didn’t even have the support of his legs on the ground. Everything he tries to pull off there will be extremely weakened.

The bat man didn’t hesitate and charged with all his might. However, when his claws were only half-meter away, Luke attacked as well. He pointed his left Palm to the enemy... While he didn’t hit anything, Concentrated Strike still worked and fired a powerful and massive blast of wind on the bat man, forcing him backward for dozens of meters.

When he stopped, the bat man frowned because he didn’t suffer much damage. The power of the attack dispersed since it didn’t hit anything and because Luke used the Palm of his hand. Still, that had been enough to completely stop his charge. A direct hit might cause problems... But the bat man couldn’t hesitate only because of that. Besides, Luke still was charging his right hand.

The bat man decided to go all out. A single blast caused by a palm strike won’t stop him, and the serious punch of the right hand won’t kill him as long as he is careful. Regardless, the bat man moved to the other side of the cage in order to gain toom to run, and once he started and reached the middle, he flapped his wings, and then his speed increased tremendously. Once again, he pointed his claws toward Luke’s head. In the end, Luke used the Palm of his left hand to attack again, but he didn’t slow the enemy even a little bit. In the end, the claws pierced Luke’s left hand and then cut his left arm right to the middle. The charge also pushed him backward for dozens of meters. However, he eventually stopped the enemy before the claws could reach his head and even grabbed his arm to make sure that he wouldn’t escape.

"That fucking hurt... Now taste my serious punch... Let’s hope that you won’t die from this alone, or it will be disappointing," Luke said.

The muscles of Luke’s right arm were bulging, and just like them, the veins were pulsing like they were about to explode. The bat man also could feel a lot of mana coming from it, so he knew that such an attack would be bad news. He tried to escape, but Luke didn’t let him go. His arm was seriously wounded, and yet...

The bat man decided to attack with his other claw, but there was only so much he could do without the help of the momentum. Still, he attacked, and his claw only met with Luke’s right fist. The moment both of them came in contact, the claw broke, and the bat man showed a pained expression. They weren’t made of bones, but they still were a part of his body. In the next moment, Luke’s fist landed on the enemy’s stomach and made his body bend forward since Luke didn’t let go of his arm. While vomiting blood, the bat man fell to his knees. He was also trembling like a leave...

"Not enough, huh... I suppose I didn’t charge for long," Luke thought when he prepared another punch.

Before Luke could do that, he suddenly felt the mana around changing, and then the cage disappeared. In the next moment, he felt his body getting a lot heavier. He truly hated gravity magic...

"Not the best option..." Luke said and then put his knee on the stomach of the bat man while he was lowering his stance.

When the bat man began to contort in pain again, the gravity returned to normal, but then some light arrows hit Luke’s arms, and then he lost sense of them. That was bad... That kind of magic was bad news, but before he could before anything, the arrows disappeared, and his body returned to normal. When he looked in the direction the arrows came from, Luke saw Reinis with his knife on the neck of some hooded guy. There was another person pointing their arms at them, but it seemed that they were hesitating in helping the bat man and the hooded guy. Regardless, Luke could use his magic again, so he summoned his sword.

"The time has come, who could have guessed that I had talent to predict the future?" Luke asked. "Swear your loyalty to me or die now. Don’t worry, your friends will follow you soon after."

The bat man also had some crazy healing skills, so he recovered enough to realize the situation he was in. With the sword that could destroy the walls with a single strike touching his neck, he knew that he would lose his head if he didn’t choose his words wisely.

"I swear my loyalty to you... if you swear that you won’t cause the death of my friends," The bat man said.

"You are dead wrong if you think you are in the position to demand anything... but it is fine, I swear it," Luke said.

Moinem has become your follower.

Once that was done, Luke let Moinem go. Although he could heal fast, Luke still gave him a hand with that while helping him get up. Luke began to wonder if he wasn’t getting soft after having a killing spree of overlords. That also was against what Aivern told him to go and kill all the overlords to become strong enough to kill him. Still, there were other ways of becoming stronger by using the overlords. Those three didn’t have the support of entire worlds, but Luke still could use them.
