The Assassin's Redemption: A Princess's Journey to Forgiveness
Chapter 115: Savage
The feme fatale flashed the most beautiful yet sinister smile Griffin had ever come across his entire life, displaying her white pearls. Her skin was flawless, as smooth as silk that Griffin itched to run his fingers on it. Oh hell no! Since when had the almighty king Griffin being swayed by mere looks? And whether he would admit it or not, this woman had simply spellbound him.
"Ahem..." he began searching for the words. What had she even asked in the first place. Oh, right! About Crescia and allies.
And why did he need allies in the first place by the way? Crescia was termed as the strongest kingdom so it was weird for her to be in pursuit for allies. Valoria was supposed to be the one doing this and not Crescia!
But Griffin had his reasons too, which he could not openly share with everyone. It had something to do with Alexander. He wanted the knights from other kingdoms to be sacrificial lambs so he could assert if what he was thinking was indeed true. He didn’t want to lose his men either. In fact, one kingdom would be more than enough to back him up, especially the witches. They were indeed a force to reckon with.
"I guess I was mistaken then," the goddess added. Out of all the men in the hall, Griffin was the only one who had gotten out of his dazed state. The others had crazed looks on their faces, expressions of disbelief and bewilderment coupled with it.
And now that she looked at Griffin up close, he momentarily lost his focus again. His gaze settled on her lips that were pout making him think crazy. Her long white hair rested on her inviting shoulders making her look like the moon goddess. Everything about her was all white, ranging from the clothes, to her nails, hat and now hair.
Never in his entire life had Griffin ever imagined he would meet a woman this beautiful. In fact, beautiful was an understatement. No words could be fit to describe how she looked.
"Where’s princess Isadora?" She asked, pulling a dazes Griffin back to reality. And wait! Did she just of Isadora’s whereabouts? But... how... how did she know so much about Crescia? Griffin was sure very few people knew about Isadora’s existence. He had made sure about that.
"And you are?" He asked, diverting the question to her. He didn’t like it that a woman was dominating this meeting, his meeting! Who did she think she was in the first place?
"I’m Lady Jade Your Majesty," she simply replied. "I’m from Tasia kingdom, " she added. This was the perfect way to introduce yourself, huh? Griffin liked it though. Beside the soft lady on display, he knew she was a tigress, just hiding her claws for the moment. She might be a good ally too. He could sense her aura.
"It’s good to meet you, Lady Jade," he said extending his hand to greet the goddess but she simply stared at it.
"The pleasure is mine,Your Majesty, " she chose to curtsy instead, causing an uproar from the kings present. Who would have thought that it all took a woman’s beauty to sway the almighty king Griffin?
Jade had hurt Griffin’s pride but he could do nothing about it. He ended clenching his fists so damn hard that his knuckles hurt. Who would ever do this to him, Griffin? But it did happen already. His mood worsened and he suddenly felt the urge to kick some ass. Maybe it was the perfect time to have some fun with the ’pigs’. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"This meeting is adjourned till tomorrow your Majesties. In the meantime, you can make yourselves at home. You can call the maids if you need anything. Enjoy your stay here in Crescia." He said and shot a quick glance at Jade before he almost ran out of the hall.
Leaning on the wall just outside the throne hall, he sighed softly as he told himself countless times to calm down.
"Are you alright, Your Majesty?" A voice called making Griffin shriek in panic. His head whipped towards the direction of the voice and he was more than glad when he saw it was just a knight.
"Have rooms arranged for the Majesties," he told the knight instead, choosing to ignore Hus question.
"And where is Lord Newton? Tell him I request for his presence," he added, trying to control his emotions.
"It’ll be done Your Majesty," the Knight didn’t question him further for he knew what would befall him if he became persistent. The king was also fine, so there was no need to ask further.
Griffin raked his fingers through his hair before he made his way to the dungeon. He still couldn’t believe that a lady had turned him down. Not that he wanted her or something. It just hurt his pride that she bad to embarrass him, in front of his fellow kings at that!
"Your Majesty," a knight standing by the cellar greeted but Griffin ignored him.
"Open it," he ordered him.
The ’pigs’ were seated on the cold floor and they knew it wouldn’t end well with them now that Griffin had visited them.
"I’m sorry your Majesty. I didn’t mean to fail in my mission," they began to beg even before the cellar was opened. But Griffin could hear none of it. Not when a woman had embarrassed him! He wanted to punch on something to vent his anger.
"Oops! Not today," he said as he made his way into the cellar. He didn’t want to kill them. He would have simply slit their throats if he wanted to.
"This is for failing in your mission as an elite," he said before a fist landed on one of the Knight’s faces, breaking his nose that instant. The other tried to free away but Griffin was quick enough to catch him by the collar of his shirt, turning him around and landing his fist on his stomach. The guy doubled over as he coughed out some blood. A satisfied look appeared on Griffin’s face.
"Why act Savage, Your Majesty?" Came Lord Newton’s annoying question.
