Chapter 165: Husband

Sienna was about to open the door when Zachary gently took her hand to stop her.

"Stay for a moment," he said quietly before turning toward the front seat. "Logan, leave us for a while."

"Yes, sir."

Without another word, Logan stepped out of the car, leaving only the two of them inside.

The atmosphere inside the vehicle suddenly grew quiet.

Sienna turned to look at Zachary just as he leaned in and gently pressed his lips to hers. She didn’t pull away; instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close.

The kiss carried emotions that neither of them could fully express with words. There was happiness, relief, longing, and a quiet reluctance to part so soon after beginning their new life together.

Sienna found herself responding naturally, matching the tenderness and affection he gave her, wishing the moment could last just a little longer.

The kiss became so intimate; she could feel herself pressing her lips to his more tightly, and as the heat rose, her heartbeat sped up. Her breath grew shorter, but then, realizing this is not the time and place, she forced herself to pull back slightly.

Only then did Zachary reluctantly loosen his hold on her. Their foreheads remained touching as they stayed close to each other, both trying to steady their breathing.

"It’s becoming even harder to leave you alone now. So, please wait for me. Don’t go anywhere while I’m away," he whispered softly. "Stay at home and wait for your husband to return from his business trip."

The word husband still sounded unfamiliar to her ears, yet hearing it from him filled her heart with warmth.

"Hmm. I will."

Sienna nodded gently as she tried to calm her racing heart.

"...And you don’t need to pack anything from your apartment," Zachary continued. "Just bring your important documents and personal belongings. As for clothes and everything else, I’ll have someone contact you. You can shop online and let them know what you need. By the time you move in, everything will already be waiting for you."

Sienna stared at him in surprise.

His arrangements always exceeded her expectations.

Still, after everything that had happened today, she no longer had the energy to be shocked by his generosity.

Besides, he wasn’t wrong.

She didn’t own many clothes anyway.

"I understand."

"And," he pulled out his wallet and took out a black card with his company logo. "From now on, use this card for whatever you want to buy... The pin is Skylar’s birthday."

Sienna lowered her gaze to see the card and was surprised to see her name written there, Sienna Sterling.

She looked up at him again, wanting to ask.

However, Zachary continued, "All my salary from Sterling Capital goes into this account... Because now you are my wife, you are the one who will spend that money."

She nods while accepting it. Knowing, it’s impossible to refuse.

Silence settled over the car again, though this time it felt quieter and heavier than before.

Zachary pulled her into his arms one more time, holding her tightly as though trying to make up for the days they would spend apart. Sienna rested her head on his chest and quietly returned the embrace, neither wanting to be the first to let go.

Eventually, reality remained reality.

Slowly, Zachary loosened his hold.

"Alright," he said softly. "I need to go now. I’ll call you later."

As if reluctant to leave without one last gesture of affection, he leaned down and gently kissed her forehead before finally letting her go.

Even after stepping out of the car, Sienna remained standing there for several seconds, watching as the vehicle slowly disappeared from sight.

Sienna turned around and walked toward the apartment entrance.

However, after taking only a few steps, the sound of a horn suddenly echoed behind her, startling her.

She glanced over her shoulder and was surprised to see a familiar car pull up in the exact spot where Zachary’s vehicle had been parked only moments ago.

"Riley?" she muttered softly.

Her brows furrowed as she turned around fully, watching him step out of the car in a hurry.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, unable to hide her confusion.

Riley quickly closed the distance between them with hurried steps. Judging from the look on his face, it was clear that he had rushed over without wasting any time.

"This is because you ignored my calls," he said with a dramatic sigh. "You didn’t answer any of my messages either. I had no choice but to come here without your permission."

Sienna let out a quiet breath, her eyes still locked on him. There had been too many things happening since this morning. After everything she had just gone through with Zachary, she simply didn’t have the energy for an argument.

"Riley," she said calmly after several seconds of silence, "if you’re here to say the same things again, then you should go home. I don’t want to hear it."

The firmness in her voice immediately stiffened Riley’s expression.

"You—"

His voice rose slightly, but the rest of his words disappeared the moment he met her gaze.

Sienna didn’t say anything else.

She simply looked at him.

Yet the warning in her eyes was unmistakable.

She had tolerated his concerns before because she knew he cared about her as a friend, but there was a limit to everything.

Unfortunately, Riley chose to ignore the warning completely. Perhaps because he was worried. Or perhaps because he was too stubborn to stop.

Taking a slow breath, Riley lowered his voice and spoke more calmly. "Sienna, are you really sure you want to marry him? Why?"

Her expression remained unchanged. She said, "I am. Because I love him!"

Riley clenched his jaw.

"Then tell me honestly." His eyes searched her face carefully. "Did you marry him because of his wealth?"

The question instantly made her frown.

Before she could answer, Riley continued speaking.

"Sienna..." His voice softened, though his words became even sharper. "If you really came after his money, I can give you that—"
