The cannon fodder's revenge (BL)
Chapter 118 - 10.14 The answer to his lonely prayers
Even an hour after A-Xuan’s announcement passed, Ambrose was still sitting in front of the tv shocked. He never thought A-Xuan would be able to do it, but he did.
Once again he did first what every fairy including him couldn’t do. Why does it seem like life is playing a vicious trick on him?
Ever since he was a kid, he always believed that he should be the one every fairy worshiped. But he feels like something went wrong along the line.
Not only is A-Xuan a famous singer, the consort on the biggest tv show in the galaxy, dating Caitian, but he also passed the laws for discrimination against fairies.
He woke up from his thoughts when he heard a knock at the door. Ambrose got up and opened the door, he was stunned when he saw who was there.
A-Xuan pushed a shocked Ambrose out of the way, holding Caitian’s hand. Ambrose woke up and closed the door.
A-Xuan asked:
"How are you feeling? We were worried."
"I-I’m okay."
Caitian sat in one of the two chairs in the tiny apartment and pulled A-Xuan on his lap. A-Xuan hugged his waist and leaned his head on his chest.
Caitian looked at Ambrose and ordered:
"Sit down." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Ambrose woke up from his dream of murdering A-Xuan right then and there and sat down.
He congratulated:
"Congratulations on passing the laws."
A-Xuan looked at him, still leaning against Caitian’s chest, and remarked:
"You don’t seem happy about it. Here I thought every fairy would be happy."
"No, I am, I just already celebrated."
A-Xuan smirked.
"Why would you celebrate when I’m the one who did it, not you?"
"I don’t care who did it, as long as it happened. We all wanted the end of fairies’ bias."
A-Xuan threatened:
"Don’t lie to me unless you want me to be angrier than I already him at you."
Ambrose felt a bad presentiment. He asked innocently:
"Why would you be angry at me? You have no reasons."
A-Xuan laughed to tears for a good two minutes. Caitian had an amused smile on his face and wiped his tears.
A-Xuan sat up and looked at him full of emotion, a flash of sadness passed quickly in his eyes before anyone could see it.
"You have no idea how much I love you."
How long it lasts depends on you.
Caitian held on to him tightly.
"I love you more, my love."
"Not possible."
Caitian smiled and answered before kissing him:
"Yes, possible."
Ambrose felt like he was choking on dog food, disgusting.
A-Xuan took Caitian from him when he’s been in love with him ever since they were kids. They are the ones who are meant to be, not him.
They stopped kissing when they heard Ambrose’s annoyed voice:
"Can you say what you have to say and leave? I want to rest."
A-Xuan smirked:
"Don’t worry, you’ll rest. To go back to what I was saying, you only came back to Zephyr to take my place. You believed fairies should worship you, and you thought they would after you become a famous singer and pretended to care about their rights."
Ambrose looked at him stunned, he couldn’t understand how he knew his plan to a tee.
He quickly hid his emotion and said laughing:
"A-Xuan, where did you get that nonsense?"
A-Xuan continued:
"You thought you could achieve that with Caitian at your side. You pretended not to know he was a producer in the Emperor’s consort. You believed you would get closer to him because you thought that he’d been in love with you since you were kids."
Ambrose got up and snapped:
"He has been in love with me ever since we were kids!"
Caitian revealed:
"Actually, I’ve always been in love with A-Xuan, I just thought you were him. Clearly, I was blind."
A-Xuan sneered:
"Why would he fall for someone vicious ?"
Ambrose felt like his whole worldview had been changed. He always believed he was the one Caitian loved, but it wasn’t him.
Even if he was cold to him, he always loved the fact that he was blindly in love with him.
He knows he’s not an angel but still, and it’s not like people haven’t told him that before, but Caitian loved him despite that.
No matter what people have to love him, even those dumb orcs. But despite all his scheming, A-Xuan won.
He howled:
"Get the hell out."
He couldn’t stay with A-Xuan and Caitian for one more second. A-Xuan got up, approached him, and asked:
"You want to rest right?"
Ambrose out of patience yelled:
"I do, so get out!"
"How about you rest for the rest of your life?"
"What do you me..."
Before he could finish his question A-Xuan slit his throat with a blade. Ambrose looked at him wide-eyed as he put both hands on his neck to stop the bleeding.
A-Xuan took a vial of fairy dust and sprinkled it above him. It should give him some time to tell him what he has to say.
The dust slows his death, he should’ve died in two minutes, but now it’ll take him 24 hours. He worked multiple days on it, and it’s entirely worth it.
Ambrose asked with difficulty:
"What did you do?"
A-Xuan smiled:
"It’s nothing, it just slows your death. You’ll be in pain for the next 24 hours until you die. You can’t move, you’ll have to stand here waiting for your death. Isn’t it fun?"
"Ww-why? Why?"
A-Xuan scoffed:
"You’re still pretending even when you’re in this situation? Even if I would’ve forgiven you for all the things you did to me, I could never forgive you for locking Caitian in that steel box."
Caitian walked to A-Xuan, he put a hand around his shoulder and A-Xuan circled his waist.
He said:
"Let’s go home. I’ll send a cleaning team once he dies."
"Hold on."
A-Xuan took out another vial from his pocket and tossed it in Ambrose’s face. He explained to him before they left:
"It’s just so you won’t scream. Have fun."
Ambrose’s tears ran down his face during the 24 hours he stayed alive. He felt like his mind was stuck in a useless shell.
His knees started to hurt very early on, but he couldn’t even sit. He had eyes on the clock, but he felt like time stretched to infinity. Minutes lasted hours, and hours lasted days.
He couldn’t understand why he felt like he’s been there for years. That’s because A-Xuan didn’t tell him that his perception of time was distorted. 24 minutes to him was like 24 days.
One hour in and he had already lost his mind. An hour before he died, the cleaning crew threw his body into the dark forest.
He was still alive when the beasts fed on him, and he felt like it lasted 3 years. A-Xuan had no intention to be generous to him, he killed the original, fuck him.
A-Xuan spent the rest of his life with his husband. On their wedding day, Alstone and Dain were their groomsmen, and when Dain and Alstone married, they were theirs.
After releasing the album of the original after making a few modifications, he only did concerts on special occasions.
He would have 5 concerts every year and the money for the tickets would go to pay tuition for fairies. He never gave up fighting for their rights.
When he finally saw the fruit of his labor, the gala where Ambrose was inaugurated ended up being his.
Caitian made a speech as well, but A-Xuan told him that if he characterizes him as his light in the dark he’s dead.
Caitian had no intention to say that, he felt like that expression was corrupted by Ambrose.
He said that he was his answer to his lonely prayers and that he doesn’t mean the world to him, he is his world.
Hearing that, A-Xuan felt like he was trying to make things worst for him. After a few years, Caitian retired, and they traveled the galaxy.
They would often make a trip back home to see Alstone and Dain and their godchildren. When they were close to the end, they went back to Zephyr.
Caitian passed away first, and A-Xuan kissed his forehead.
"You’re very stubborn. Since you won’t do it, I’ll force you."
A-Xuan went back to the Locus space. After he received the world’s power he sat on the floor feeling vanquished.
He always believed that the hardest part would be to recognize his husband, but he was wrong. Even if he lived a beautiful life with Caitian it was draining, and too overwhelming.
He needs a break from him, or he’ll go insane. Maybe our love has run its course.
He severed his link to his husband’s soul and fell to his knees in pain. He bit his lip and focused despite the pain.
He closed his eyes using the power he accumulated to find a specific world. I’ll finally know once and for all. When he found it, he went feeling alleviated.
