Chapter 68: 6.9 Reconciliation

A-Xuan looked at Yang Jian feeling heartbroken, he hugged him until he felt he was calmer. Yang Zan looked at his brother feeling guilty. He never told him the truth because he knew he wouldn’t take it well.

Because of the pressure their father used to put on him as the eldest Yang Jian developed a close relationship with their mother. Even if his father was physically and mentally abusive to both of them he was harder on Yang Jian.

He thought the heir of the clan shouldn’t feel anything and be ruthless, so he never had a childhood.

When his father found out that Yang Zan knew he created a wedge between them. After struggling for a long time Yang Zan ran away. A-Xuan let go of him and got up.

He walked to the door but he turned around when he heard Yang Jian’s voice.

"Where are you going?"

A-Xuan looked at him uneasily then looked away after taking a peek at Yang Zan.

"I’m going to stay at a hotel."

Yang Jian looked at his brother and then at A-Xuan. He asked:

"Do you love him?"

A-Xuan looked down and answered:

"I do."

Yang Jian said softly:

"I see."

A-Xuan knelt in front of him. When he looked back at him he said:

"I know it’s crazy but I’m in love with both of you. I only came back with him to make sure you’ll reconcile before I leave."

A-Xuan got up and walked to the door again, he opened it and said before leaving:

"You both don’t need to do what you said you would, I’ll deal with my family on my own."

Yang Jian watched the door close. Yang Zan got up and sat next to his brother. He put a hand on his shoulder. Yang Jian asked:

"Did you think I couldn’t handle the truth? Am I that weak to you?"

Yang Zan said:

"No I never thought you were, you’ve always been the strongest. You had it way worst than me even though you were born only a few minutes before me. I guess I couldn’t handle destroying the last good thing you had left in your life, the picture you had of mom."

Yang Jian turned to look at him and said frustrated:

"That’s the thing she wasn’t the last good thing in my life, you were. And when you left I had nothing."

Yang Zan looked at him and his eyes moistened. He said with difficulty:

"I’m sorry I shouldn’t have abandoned you. I always felt guilty and when father died I wanted to come back but with him filling your head with lies and me confirming it I knew you wouldn’t believe I came back just for you."

Yang Jian put his hand on the one he had on his shoulder.

"Just don’t lie to me anymore."

Yang Zan smiled and said:

"I won’t I promise."

Yang Jian smiled and looked away.

"What happened at the coffee shop?"

Yang Zan took his hand back and explained to him what happened. When he finished Yang Jian laughed. He said:

"Did you know that when I first met him I knew he was a master manipulator? He always has everything under control and he’s always two steps ahead of everyone. But when he left he seemed completely lost like he never saw it coming."

Yang Zan said:

"I know, he almost fell at the coffee shop trying to run away. It was such a stark contrast to his performance at the abandoned factory."

Yang Jian smiled, he looked at his brother and asked:

"You love him too don’t you?"

Yang Zan looked back and asked:

"The person you kept seeing in your dream was in a white background and he kept urging you to come. He called your name but you couldn’t move, right?"

Yang Jian looked at his twin shocked. He had told his brother that he kept dreaming of someone but it stopped there. How could he know all the details? Yang Zan smiled and explained:

"I’ve been having the same dreams too, that’s how I know."

Yang Jian looked at him stunned.

"Why didn’t you tell me?"

"Because I knew it would be useless. I was already overwhelmed with everything going on with father so I didn’t want to feel disappointed for not finding the person."

Yang Jian nodded, of course he can understand. While his brother kept it all in he went the other way. He looked at Yang Zan when he said:

"I just didn’t realize we were dreaming of the same person."

Yang Jian made that deduction too after he told him he had the same dream. Clearly his brother feels the same way as he does.

They both struggled for years not to find the men in their dream. He can’t give up on A-Xuan which means Yang Zan can’t either.

A-Xuan left to stay at a hotel. After entering his room he sat on the bed and closed his eyes. He felt like crying but he took a deep breath to focus. He opened the computer he bought on the way. Since things changed his plan has to.

Yuwen Yong was sitting in his office looking for some papers. He wants to make a file with all his crimes so he can give it to his son. Now he knows for sure that Yang Jian loves him.

He’s been looking for some important documents since A-Xuan was abducted. After failing to find them he decided to assemble all the ones he could find and gave them to his son once he comes home tonight for dinner.

Since he didn’t see him during the week he pretended he missed him and told him to come with Yang Jian. When he heard his son’s excited voice through the cellphone he just wanted to laugh.

How can someone be this stupid? Yuwen Yong frowned when he heard sounds and got up startled when the door was banged open.

Multiple men in police uniforms came in. He yelled when they started to go through his things:

"What do you think you’re doing?"

A man threw a paper to his face.

"We have a warrant to search your property."

Yuwen Yong read the warrant shaking in rage. He looked down at the file he was just compiling and tried to hide it. The police officer who threw him the warrant grabbed his wrist and retrieved the file.

He skimmed it and called:

"Someone put him under arrest."

Another officer pulled him and after putting his hands behind his back he was handcuffed.

He was led down the stairs and Yuwen Yong screamed to one of the security guards:

"When my son comes tell him I’m at the police station."

Yuwen Yong didn’t mention Yang Jian because he wants the men who arrested him to feel scared when they see him walk into the police station. I’ll make sure that every one of them pays for laying a hand on me.

When A-Xuan arrived at Yuwen Yong’s house the guard told him that he was at the police station. A-Xuan was driven there and asked to see his father. A-Xuan was in a small room sitting waiting for him.

After a few seconds, a police officer walked in with him and after taking off his handcuff he sat him on the chair in front of the table.

Yuwen Yong smiled when he saw his son worried expression. While he was waiting for him to come he wasn’t worried because he knew his son would do anything for him and by extension Yang Jian too.

A-Xuan asked with a frown:

"Father what happened?"

"I don’t know someone must’ve tipped off the police. They came with a warrant and they knew what they were looking for. You need to tell leader Yang to get me out."

A-Xuan raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

Yuwen Yong looked at him like he was a fool and explained:

"Everyone knows that the police listens to him so he can just get me out and make all my crimes go away."

A-Xuan mumbled:

"But father I don’t want to mix business with pleasure."

"What?"

"I love him and I don’t want our relationship to be all about business relating to the clan. I want to draw a line."

Yuwen Yong yelled:

"Are you fuckin kidding me? The only reason I sent you to him was so he could help us expand our clan."

A-Xuan answered in a small voice:

"I know but I don’t want to do that anymore. I just want to be with him."

Yuwen Yong laughed and threatened:

"Listen to me carefully you bastard. You will call leader Yang and have him come here to bail me out and the clan too or you’ll end up in jail as well."

A-Xuan blanched and asked in a trembling voice:

"W-What do you mean?"

"Your name is attached to a lot of fraudulent contracts so you better get your boyfriend here now or I’ll take you down with me."

A-Xuan said shocked:

"I can’t believe you would do that to me. I thought you loved me and wanted me to be happy."

Yuwen Yong laughed.

"I only love the clan and I’ll do anything to expand it. I don’t care whether you are happy or not. Call him now!"

A-Xuan laughed and Yuwen Yong looked at him stunned. A-Xuan leaned back and said with disgust:

"You’re a terrible father, honestly I think you deserve to die but I’ll just send you to jail and send you news every week about the ruin of your clan. It’ll be worst than death to you."

Yuwen Yong looked at his son who seemed like a different person. After a few seconds, he said incredulously:

"It was you, you’re the one who took the files I lost."

A-Xuan leaned back further:

"I just borrowed them I can give them back to you if you want. Although I don’t think they’ll be of much help now."

"Why would you do that? Our clan will be ruined and your name is on a lot of those papers."

"I don’t care about the clan and I destroyed every paper mentioning me. Here sign those."

Yuwen Yong looked at the papers.

"What is this?"

"This one says that all your properties are mine now and this one is a surprise for sister."

Yuwen Yong shook his head.

"No, I won’t sign this."

A-Xuan said expressionlessly:

"Fine, then I guess you don’t want my help to get out of prison sooner. I thought maybe you would prefer to stay 50 days instead of 50 years. My bad."

A-Xuan took back all the papers and got up. Yuwen Yong yelled:

"Wait!"

A-Xuan sat back and arched an eyebrow.

"I’ll sign them if you get me out sooner."

A-Xuan handed him the papers and he signed them. He put the papers in his bag and left after saying:

"Have fun spending the rest of your life rotting in jail!"

Yuwen Yong got up and screamed frantically while police officers held him back:

"You bastard you said you would help me. I will kill you, you son of a b.."

Before he could finish A-Xuan watched as his body fell to the floor after being tasered. He smiled as he left the police station.
