While they ate Huang Xing asked:

"Why do you want to participate in Mystic Warfare?"

A-Xuan looked at him for a few seconds then in the distance.

"I thought I would be able to find my father after I show the realm that I’m a powerful mage."

"Aren’t you worried he’ll want you in his life just because of it?"

A-Xuan looked back at him and said confidently:

"Why would I want someone who abandoned me in my life? I just want to see his face and hear his reason."

Huang asked:

"What if you can’t stand the reason you were abandoned?"

A-Xuan smiled, he caressed Huang Xing’s cheek as he explained:

"Ever since I was a baby I couldn’t count on anyone so I never had any expectations. Whether it’s in my father or the witches around me. Seeing how people kept taking advantage of me showed me that I was right. I know that the reason I was abandoned is selfish. Every baby gets read so he knew I would become a mage. I just want to see the face of the witch who is so insecure that he couldn’t stand to have me as a son."

Huang Xing felt relief. He can see that he meant every word and that he is different from the person in his file. Having gone through as much as he did change him into someone stronger.

The only thing that worries him is if he’ll hate him when he finds out that he’s his father’s brother.

"Can you promise me something?"

A-Xuan knew where he was going. His husband would always do that, but he thinks it’s cute.

Even if he doesn’t promise he would forgive anything he would ask him to. Except cheating of course.

"What?"

Huang Jing held onto him tighter.

"You’ll never get mad at me for something that’s beyond my control."

Indeed, he can’t control his brother’s actions and he didn’t decide to be his brother.

A-Xuan smiled and promised:

"I’ll never get mad at you for something that’s beyond your control I promise."

Huang Xing never felt so excited, he hugged him and A-Xuan felt like he was suffocating. He pushed him and Huang Xing looked at him pouting.

A-Xuan laughed at his cute face and kissed him. Huang Xing got up, held him, and left for the bedroom.

For two weeks A-Xuan went to Divine U and back. He hasn’t seen Ming or Li Dagou since he used CF to actively avoid them. University isn’t so bad now that he has his husband.

He would eat lunch with him and when he had a free period he would stay in his office. Huang Xing practically lived in A-Xuan’s apartment, they would always eat dinner together and he would spend the night.

He is a little disappointed that Mystic Warfare is about to start. The night before during dinner he could see how anxious his husband was. He didn’t say anything and waited for him to talk to him when he is ready.

After pacing for a while in the bathroom Huang Xing got out and joined A-Xuan on the bed. He pulled him in his arms asking:

"Do you have to do Mystic Warfare?"

A-Xuan looked at him.

"Do you not want me to?"

"No, I don’t want you to get hurt."

"I won’t."

Huang Xing knows that his nephew is out to get him and if he can’t deal with him on his own he’ll pull his father in.

Even if he’ll be there and he’s stronger than the both of them combined he won’t be in the house with A-Xuan.

Even if they’re live 24/7 things can still go wrong.

"In the house, you’ll be alone with strangers."

A-Xuan kissed his nose and said:

"I’ll only keep my shackles the first day. No one will dare to do anything to me once they feel my power. Plus even if they do they’re not my opponents."

Huang Xing took a breath of relief, he was afraid he would hide his power until the very last battle.

"Then I’ll make your first round the second day. Just be careful the first day."

"Thank you, I will."

A-Xuan kissed him and pulled back. He could see how worried he was and he doesn’t want that. He knows how much he likes to stress on his own without telling him.

He said:

"If you feel something don’t hold it in just tell me directly."

Huang Xing looked at him his heartbeat quickening.

"Are you sure?"

A-Xuan smiled.

"Of course, I prefer when you tell me how you feel instead of worrying on your own."

"Why do you care about my feelings?"

A-Xuan was surprised, he asked confused:

"What do you mean?"

"I’m the broken witch. The whole realm knows that I don’t feel anything which means you know that too but you’ve never treated me like they all do."

A-Xuan caressed his cheek.

"Because I know that you do. If you didn’t feel for them then they were not worthy of your feelings. It’s that simple."

Huang Xing looked at him feeling touched. How can a single witch have that much impact on him?

He can’t see his life without him and he wants to know if A-Xuan feels the same way.

"Do you think you are worthy?"

A-Xuan bit his lip and whispered:

"I want to be."

He genuinely does, he knows that his husband is The Architect and he’s just him the plain old A-Xuan. Even if he is free what is he going to do once he goes back to his life?

He has no one there. He was an orphan and he never met his parents. He worked his way through college and got a job in a company as a tech engineer. Except for work and technology he had nothing else.

He never had this urge to have someone in his life, someone to be with for the rest of his life.

Sometimes he thinks that’s why he’s so obsessed with his husband, he feels like he’s the only one he can ever love.

Since knowing his identity he loves him more and wants to be closer to him than he did before which was already a lot. Before him, A-Xuan had never loved anyone even in real life.

But when you compare his identity and his husband’s how can he not worry if he’ll accept him once he frees him?

What if when his soul is complete again he feels mortified at the idea that he fell in love with him for multiple lives in a row? What if he doesn’t want to see him ever again?

He knows he’s not good enough for him but he’ll still do anything to reach him and since he doesn’t know if he’ll want to be with him he’ll enjoy every life he has with his Gege.

Huang Xing smiled like a kid on Christmas morning. He said:

"Baby I love you so much do you love me?"

A-Xuan’s eyes moistened and he answered:

"I do, I love you too Gege."

Huang Xing kissed him fiercely. He won’t let anything happen to him or let anyone take him away.
