Chapter 1782: Armour Styles

The Leatherworkers in the new Guild House smiled as Rae appeared with a confused young mage girl.

Meisje had been minding her own business, studying new spells, when Rae had appeared behind her and simply grabbed her out of her chair to bring her somewhere new.

"Hi?"

The Lycans laughed. "Good morning, Girl. Are you the apprentice of Lady Rae?"

"Uh, I don’t think so? Maybe? She adopted me because I have soul sight and I could see her when she was invisible."

Rae nodded happily. "Now, we fixed her eyes, so she can see. But she’s still got soul sight, and she’s a Golem Mage. Golems are helpful in all sorts of situations, and unlike Lucille’s they don’t pick things up with their mouths."

Meisje gave her a confused look. What sort of golems did Lucille have that would carry things in their mouth. She hadn’t met the young Lycan yet, so she was unaware that the Wolf Lord had eight werewolf type golems as a Class Skill.

"I have decided that my mage needs crafting skills, so she will be joining us for a lesson on practical fashion," Rae explained.

Meisje sighed in resignation. There was no point in arguing with Rae. When the spider made up her mind that something was going to happen, it happened. It didn’t matter whether that was a training session or the death of a Sect. Either way, it would happen.

"Alright, what are we learning today?" She asked.

"We are learning the art of making armour that is both practical and pleasant to look at.

Now, there are three major groups of this. Functional and understated, functional and intimidating, or functional and sexy. All three are essential to have in your repertoire.

Since we have Meisje here, I will ask her to demonstrate with some of the spare items I produced."

Meisje sighed. She should have known that there was more to this than simply being brought to learn things. But, this raised other questions.

"Lady Rae, if I equip the items, they will bond to me..."

Rae shrugged. "That’s fine, they’re all things that I made for mages, so you can just keep them and use the parts that you liked best. Now, the first set is the subtle. As this is a leatherworking class, it is naturally an all leather set.

Please, put this on."

Meisje accepted the stack of leather and closed her eyes before equipping it. It gave her a few precious seconds to hear everyone else’s response before she had to see it for herself.

That was her comfort zone. She had been blind all her life, so she judged most things by other people’s responses to it. That was the only effective way to tell whether an outfit was good or not. However, she never had the money to be fashion conscious.

The Lycans sounded appreciative, so she opened her eyes, and found that she was wearing soft brown leather pants, fitted, but not too tight. It was paired with a soft green leather shirt thin enough that it hung like fabric, and brown leather bracers.

It was the sort of thing you could wear anywhere and not attract attention, but it was also Epic Grade leather armour.

"This is actually... really nice."

The Lycans nodded. That was the sort of thing that everyone in the Pack might actually wear. Not for the stats, but just as casual wear. If they were making leather armour like that, it was quite possible that they would revolutionize fashion in the pack.

"Now, does anyone have questions about what qualifies as the understated look? I think this should be perfectly suitable for wearing when you don’t want people to notice that you’re actually fully armoured.

It keeps you combat ready, without alerting others, or reminding them that you are dangerous," Rae explained.

"No, that is perfect. We would actually wear that, and we’re definitely going to want to make it once we have the skills."

"Excellent, everyone understands. Now, for outfit number two."

Rae handed Meisje another armful of armour, this one strangely spiky, and incorporating multiple hard shelled animal plates.

With some trepidation, she equipped the armour, and then giggled as she looked at herself in the mirror on the wall. She looked like some sort of crab demon lord. A very short crab demon lord, at that.

But it was intimidating.

Probably more intimidating if she was taller, but still, the effect was there, and everyone could see that with just the right choice of exterior this could go either as a smooth and sleek heavy chitin armour, or the intimidating and aggressive look that Rae had chosen.

"Now, for the last outfit, we need another volunteer.

For the concept of sexy armour goes two ways. The first is not sexy at all. It is the cute and innocent look that has the same effect of triggering protective and possessive instincts, without being in any way sexual. The second is much more erotic.

Oh, there’s the perfect volunteer. You in the green dress, come here for a moment and I will give you some armour to keep after you model it."

The Lycan woman frowned, but Rae was a Guild member, and it was a gift of armour.

"Alright, just don’t make me wear anything weird."

Rae nodded happily. "Of course not, this is a lesson for fashion. Now, put this on, and show everyone what I’m talking about."

The dress was black leather, a shade darker than the Lycan’s fur, with elbow length sleeves, and dual thigh slits in the front of either leg right to the golden belt that matched trim on the bikini armour style chest plate.

It included leg plates and bracers of black chitin with the same golden trim that was on the chest plate, and the Lycan looked more than a little uncomfortable at the amount of cleavage that it highlighted, pushing her chest up and inward in a way that was most definitely designed to appeal to a man, not for comfort or modesty.

A few of the single males whistled in appreciation, breaking the tension, and she stuck out her tongue at them, a gesture that looked much more amusing than Rae had expected coming from a wolf muzzle.

"As you can see, almost all of the body is fully armoured and covered. There are weak points at the upper thigh, and between the bracers and the sleeves. But this armour is not made for a tank type combatant, it’s designed for high mobility and pure visual appeal.

Go ahead and show us your flexibility. I’m certain that our kind volunteer won’t mind if you give him just one kick in the face."

The woman growled a little at Rae, and the man laughed.

"Or don’t. We all get the idea anyhow. Now, for the alternate. Meisje, put this on."

Meisje sighed and put on the outfit, which caused every pack member present to howl and cheer.

What Rae had given her was a pair of black tights with black boots, under a long blue cloth hoodie that had a shark tooth white trim around the hood, fin shaped wide sleeves, and a white front with a greyish blue back and hood.

"See? Adorable."
