The First Legendary Beast Master
Chapter 1785: A Proper Sexy Goth Cloth Shop
Opal popped into the shop after hearing what Rae had planned.
"Are we making a super sexy goth cloth shop?"
Rae laughed at the excited Fae. "Not so super sexy. This is our shopkeeper, and she’s too young for such things. However, we do have sexy things for sale. Lingerie, sleepwear, some armour I made for Succubi, that sort of thing."
"Got it. It’s a thrift shop for people who don’t deserve cupcakes."
Meisje stared at the Forest Trickster. How could you call an entire shop full of Rare and Epic Grade fashion a thrift shop, even if much of it was made in mortal quality materials?
Sure, people looked down on mortals, but most of their clothing was nonmagical, even a Mythic Rank outfit was far superior to what they were wearing. And if Rae had made it, the clothes likely had some sort of insane bonuses on them as well.
"Oh, before we get started, equip this. The hoodie is cute, and you can wear that whenever you’re not at work, but at work, wear this."
Meisje equipped the pile of cloth, and found herself in a high necked lolita dress with crinoline petticoats that made the knee-length skirt bounce when she moved. There were stockings that went with it, one leg black, and one leg white, opposite the halved black and white pattern that the dress was designed in.
"Oh, Karl wears this pattern on his usual outfit," she realized.
"It’s our Guild colour scheme. The same as our flag. Here, I’ve got a necklace for you with the Darklight Host dragon emblem as well."
Meisje equipped that as well, and felt an unfamiliar pressure around her neck. Not uncomfortable, but she wasn’t used to wearing any jewellery, and this seemed to be a choker of some sort.
"Perfect. Now everyone knows at a glance that you’re under our protection. I swear we will find time to take you through some dungeons to build up your skill points soon. That’s all you need to catch up to the rest of us.
If not, I will ask Cara to just dump a whole bunch of mage type skills in your head so that you can do mage things."
"No, I think that can wait." Meisje pleaded.
Letting Cara go wild in her brain seemed like a recipe for disaster. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Opal laughed. "You just gave her a crafting skill. She will get Skill Points as she makes things. Just don’t make her work too much overtime, and she will build skill points slowly on her own."
Rae frowned. "That takes too long. Maybe we can take her with us to the Tel Dungeon? She’s lower level, so it should give her lots of rewards."
The quality of the goods was determined by skill, but the level couldn’t be higher than the creator. So, she needed Meisje to at least get through the early stages and make Proper Spirit Immortal items.
"You want the Elders to bring me along on an Ascended Rank dungeon run? Isn’t that asking too much?"
"Oh, not the Elders. Just Karl and the Dana Mage, plus you and the team. That’s only three by the dungeon’s count, since we can enter inside our space. It’s Ascended Rank, but it’s not highly Ascended. Karl is already doing well in the Void Immortal Realm, so his constructs are strong.
And he’s Soul Bonded to the Dana Mage, so they’re exactly the same strength. And, she’s a Golem Mistress, so her summoned helpers are extra strong."
"So, you’re saying that they can do the dungeon without the Elders? Like, they’re as strong as Elders, even though they’re just starting into the Void immortal Stage?"
"Exactly. Most of that is the weight of numbers, but with us beasts instead of humans, of course we’re stronger than the standard."
"Isn’t that clearly biased, just because you’re a beast?"
"It’s simple fact. Humans are weak and squishy. Barely a snack at our same level. Only when they work in groups can they take down magical beasts who have high intelligence and natural armour.
No human could hope to match Thor in a physical contest, and even with equivalent skills, no human assassin can keep up with me."
When she put it that way, Rae’s argument made much more sense. Even if Meisje hadn’t seen Thor as anything but a long-eared humanoid with green hair. Obviously, he was a transformed beast, but she didn’t recall ever seeing his true form.
There was no way that she could have known without asking that the reason Thor didn’t transform as often was because of the size issue.
He was an incredibly social creature, but in his natural state, he was so much larger than everyone else that he couldn’t talk to them properly. That was just weird and awkward, to be right there and not talk.
"So, what are we going to do with the space? This shop might be in the right spot, but it’s not large. Don’t clothing stores usually have separate sections? There isn’t room for that."
Rae waved her hand dismissively. "That’s what we’ve got Opal for. She will do all the enchantments with an [Illusionary Domain] which can make the space much larger.
That will give us all the departments that we need, and room to hang the good stuff. We will put the lingerie and such up on the second floor, along with the really fancy gowns. The stuff that people lust over, but don’t buy as often.
That will be good for the wedding dress selections as well. People do that here, right?"
Meisje laughed. "Yes, but not as often as you might be thinking. For most of them, they either call them ’Cultivation Partners’ to keep it from being serious, or they just don’t put a title on it at all. However, most of the Clans do have these huge holiday galas where everyone needs to dress super fancy.
I used to hear people complaining about not being able to find the right outfit for it all the time, but I don’t know what those outfits looked like.
They had to be expensive, though. The guards would chase me out of the streets when the parade to the event was going on so that I didn’t bump into anyone with their fancy clothes."
"Well, that’s just rude. I get that they gave you an apartment and food, which is nice. But it sounds like they were real jerks otherwise."
"I won’t disagree with you. I’ve seen more kindness since arriving in the Tiny World than I had like ever."
