THE GOD EATER

He was sure that his feeling of intoxication came from what he was siphoning from the heart of the world. The feeling was so great that he felt like he was ascending to godhood and he felt that he could do anything he wanted.

He looked down at his hands and said in awe, "This must be raw, unadulterated power. I feel like I’m growing stronger every moment. Is this what being a dragon feels like?"

What he is feeling is a little bit exaggerated, but the feeling of growing stronger every moment isn’t an illusion. He is truly becoming stronger and stronger.

His Power Core is truly expanding with every second of the Siphon Ability active. All five energy chambers are growing bigger and stronger.

The rate of growth of his Power Core is 1 unit per second. And this 1 unit isn’t the empty capacity that he will have to fill up by eating other people. This 1 unit is a full and complete addition to his Power Core Stat.

It was as if he was siphoning the lifeblood of the world, not just energy. And there didn’t seem to be an end to how much he could siphon.

Because of how fast he was draining the heart of the world, he had filled up one of his energy chambers to the brim in 14 minutes. So an energy chamber had gone from 180 units to 1,000 units in less than 15 minutes.

But he didn’t stop there. Since there was still more lifeblood to extract, he decided to fill up the other energy chambers, too. He doesn’t plan to stop until he has filled up all five of his energy chambers.

This was good news. The bad news was that his extraction was painful and detrimental to the world.

If the will of the world knew that he was the one responsible for this theft, it would have sent every world guardian after him. Not only that, but it would have also sent every living thing in the world that could move to kill him.

But the will of the world didn’t know that he was the perpetrator of the unforgivable atrocity that was going on. So the will of the world didn’t have someone to concentrate its anger and frustration on. The will of the world could only attack every invader randomly.

This was bad for everyone else, not for Loki. Loki didn’t mind that everyone else was dying, and he could handle himself in a fight even without his Life Ability.

The bad part came from the fact that the world began to shake again after a while. Many earthquakes happened spontaneously and simultaneously in different places around the world. This caused disasters of various kinds to follow.

Because of the earthquakes, mountains collapsed, landslides swept through the world, cracks opened in the ground and swallowed everything, volcanoes erupted, tsunamis rose and drowned everyone. All of these things created a lot of noise that drew the attention of the divine beings again.

The divine beings had to investigate again because the world was acting as if it were under attack by someone capable of destroying it. If they didn’t know better, they would think the world was dying.

The world was howling in pain and cursing every invader. It was doing this at a higher pitch and tempo than was normal for its current state. This indicated that the world was under attack.

So they cracked the shell again to take a look. But no matter how they looked, they still couldn’t find anything wrong. So they decided that the will of the world was only throwing a tantrum.

The five divine beings didn’t see a problem that needed fixing, so they ignored all of the howling. Even though the world looked like it was at the brink of destruction, they didn’t take it seriously.

It wasn’t until the crystal shell and the space within the world began to crack that they realized that the situation was very serious. This is because a world without its shell cannot continue to exist.

At this point, they had to admit that the world was dying. So they expanded one of the cracks and used it to gain entry into the world.

The first thing they did after entering the world was to search around for a problem. When they didn’t see a problem, they decided to go to the core of the world, to where the heart of the world was.

When they got to the heart of the world, they found it dim and listless. This caused their eyes to twitch in surprise.

The heart was a crystal that should be as bright as the sun and shining with multicolored light. The whole core of the world should be filled with a rainbow light. But what they found was a crystal that could barely light up in the darkness.

What they found indicated that there was a massive problem, and it was with the heart of the world. But they still couldn’t tell what was wrong. All they can tell is that the world is definitely dying.

What’s worse is that the situation was getting worse every moment. This prompted Monarch Astra Body to say, "What is going on? Is it committing suicide?"

Monarch Talisman Paper, who is highly sensitive to energy, shook his head and said, "It is more like it is sending its energy away. I believe that it is trying to create a dragon."

These words made Monarch Bull Strength say with an incredulous expression on her face, "What kind of nonsense is that? Everyone knows that medium worlds can’t create dragons."

In response, Monarch Talisman Paper shrugged and said, "I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe you shouldn’t take what I said seriously. After all, it was only a suggestion."

In the few seconds that they were talking, the heart of the world had dimmed again. This made them feel a sense of urgency. Unfortunately, they still hadn’t discovered the source of the problem.
