Chapter 599: Up To The Challenge?

Just like Loki had done, Ant Hill quickly sent messages to Money Body asking to know exactly what was going on. Her tone wasn’t as disrespectful as Loki’s, though. She was just a little bit hysterical and anxious.

Despite being anxious, she still remembered to address Money Body with respect. Unfortunately for her, Money Body didn’t need her respect for anything.

Her respect was as useless as a rag, and Money Body didn’t think he owed her any explanation. So no matter how respectful she was, Money Body ignored her.

When she didn’t get what she wanted, she turned to Loki and said, "Take care of yourself."

Then she chose a direction to run in. She sped up with her fastest speed and even used her Divine Metac to speed. Loki didn’t use his Divine Metac to increase his speed earlier, so she was many times faster than he was.

A few seconds later, she ran into a wall. The shockwave of heat and a loud sound washed over Loki, who was watching her to see if her escape would be successful. Even though her failure was comical, he couldn’t laugh because he had hoped that she would be able to get away.

There was also the fact that he saw how she had failed. He saw that she was strong enough to break a wall, but she had failed because many walls had appeared and piled together in her way to block her.

Now that she had failed, he said, "It seems the will of the world is hell-bent on killing us here. And this is just the power of the world. The dragon and their dragon king would surely be stronger than this once they use their symbol of authority to fight."

He thought that he was offering useful information, but she thought he was just being a nuisance. She didn’t appreciate his offering of information and instead shouted at him, saying, "Shut up. Shut your mouth."

"I don’t need to hear this from you right now. I already know that the dragons and the dragon king would be more dangerous."

After venting on him, she composed herself. Then she looked towards the incoming enemies and said, "This wasn’t how it should have gone. But I can’t blame myself for having a weak partner. If I die, so be it. I was just unlucky."

Loki shook his head and said, "I think you’re wrong. I think you’re the weak partner here."

She thought that he was saying nonsense and wanted to snort in derision. But when she remembered that he had noticed the dragons before her, what she wanted to do got stuck in her throat.

It was then that she realized that Loki might not be what he appeared to be. So she became hopeful.

Her eyes lit up, and she said, "If you can hold one of them back, we might be able to survive this. I will kill the other one and help you kill the second one."

This made her Loki chuckle and say, "First of all, if I hold one of them and you kill the other, you won’t come to help me kill the other one. You will just run away so that the dragon king won’t come to get you. You will leave me to die."

"Secondly, and most importantly, you can’t kill any dragon. You’re just too weak."

Ant Hill smirked and said, "We shall soon see."

This was one thing that Loki could agree with her on. He was of the opinion that they would be able to tell who was weak and who was strong very soon.

The two of them stayed there in silence, waiting for the enemy. As they waited, they saw two colossal serpents swimming towards them.

To Loki, it felt as if two trains were barreling towards him at full speed. Common sense told him to get out of their way as soon as possible. He would like to get out of their way. Unfortunately, the will of Oceania had other ideas about that.

Both of the serpents had a pair of golden hexagonal eyes. They also possessed two golden horns. However, the rest of their bodies were different.

One of them had tentacles on its face and frills around its neck. This made it look like a fish and lizard hybrid.

The other dragon had a lower lip that was split in half. It also had a good around its neck that made it look like a cobra.

The two of them were enormous. Just from what Loki could see of their heads, he could tell that they could wrap around the Empire State Building comfortably with extra length left.

The cobra dragon sneered at them and said, "Why were you running? Didn’t you challenge us? Or did you become too afraid after you saw us?"

The frilled dragon chuckled as it said, "It is probably your appearance that scared them. I’ve told you many times to do something about your appearance."

In response to this taunt, the cobra snake struck the other snake with its tail before saying, "Bah. I think they were just full of themselves. They thought they could walk into our world, set up a place for themselves, and roam around like they own the place."

Ant Hill chose that moment to interrupt and say with a tone full of derision, "We didn’t come out for sightseeing or chit chat. We came to fight just like you wanted. So what’s the delay?"

The frilled dragon immediately laughed out loud as it said, "Look who has regained their courage. It is true that you came out looking for a fight. But when we actually answered the challenge and came, you were the one who tried to run." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

The cobra dragons nodded and said, "So don’t try to act tough now. We know that you’re afraid. Any courage that you are putting on right now is only a facade. If not for the fact that you can’t run, you wouldn’t be here showing false bravery."
