Chapter 1894: Female Alpha’s Stand

Silence envelops the area like a heavy blanket.

After the Silverstar Pack Alpha’s appearance that killed a hundred Godlings, the space stilled once again as the uncanny werewolf stood and stared at where he had appeared. ’No wonder the Gods are having trouble going against him. He’s full of surprises.’

He knew about the realm lock that was in place.

A veil that the Lunirich Goddess of the Honey Moon, Meloriana, made that prevented anything from outside of the Mortal Realm from entering. It was an absolute authority that a God who ruled over the realm could impose at will.

And even that couldn’t stop Rex from entering entirely.

It became more and more apparent why the Lunirich Gods wanted to kill him so badly.

’Divine Lord Kaiser didn’t attack that mortal directly—and chose to attack his underlings... Why?’ the uncanny werewolf wondered at this oddity. ’Someone like that mortal might have another deity backing him. Is that why? Or had the Divine Lord done it but failed?’

’If that’s the case, the aim of killing his underlings should be...’ A cynical smile crept to his face. ’It is a shame that those two managed to escape, but we still have enough. There are still many individuals that he cared about in this realm who we could use.’

Being with the Divine Lord for countless millennia helped him understand the plan.

And for once, he wanted to see how it would play out.

"Have you made up your mind?" the uncanny werewolf turned and stared at Princess Selene. He had given her the choice to abandon the Silverstar Pack in exchange for leading the new era for the werewolves. It’s time to make a choice. "What is it going to be?"

Princess Selene’s eyes sharpened.

She had been troubled throughout this ordeal. Undecided. Hesitant.

Now, there was fire behind her eyes.

Princess Selene walked to the side. On her forehead, a King Mark began to manifest. A honey-yellow sphere that spread kingly energy across her entire form. She stood beside Adhara and curled her claws, making her decision clear without needing to say it.

Seeing this, Miriam also came and hovered right above the two, also choosing the Silverstar Pack.

"Where has your shame gone?" the uncanny werewolf pointed at the fractured sky. Up there, Meloriana, the very Goddess that had given her the Honey Moon King Mark stared down with eyes ablaze in sheer righteous fury. "Your Goddess watches from above, and you still have the gall to use her gift against me? Against her will?"

"Werewolves aren’t your toys. We earned this strength," Princess Selene bared her fangs. "It’s our power as much as it’s her power."

"Do you really think you can win?" He sneered. "Because of him? Because he killed a meager number of us?"

"We don’t need to win against you," Adhara panted heavily, slowly healing the wounds across her entire body. She leaned back her head and smirked, "I don’t know much about Gods or how they operated. It is still out of my knowledge. But I do know the other Supernatural races... they have their own Gods, too.

"I reckoned that this," Adhara nudged her chin at the sky. "Would not last long."

No changes happened on the uncanny werewolf’s face.

But the silence that followed hinted that what Adhara said was true, or at least close to the truth.

During the Era of Might, the Supernatural races began to obtain unnatural magical power. Undead have death energy. Vampires—have death energy. Demons have demonic energy. And since the werewolves’ moonlight energy came from the Lunirich Gods, then it’s safe to assume that theirs also came from the Gods backing them.

It became apparent to Adhara that this world was owned by multiple Gods.

And for that, those Gods wouldn’t be happy if the Lunirich Gods interfered this much in this world.

Perhaps right now, the other Gods were unaware of what was happening.

But how long can the Lunirich Gods maintain this secrecy? Adhara was betting that it wouldn’t be long.

Soon, the Lunirich Gods would need to withdraw from this world.

And that meant she and the others would only need to drag this out until that time runs out.

For a long, still moment, the uncanny werewolf regarded Adhara with eyes that revealed nothing. Then, slowly, his attention shifted to the side. Two entities composed entirely of lunar light and lightning stood motionless, patient as storms held in glass.

Ready to attack once he made his move.

A hundred Godlings died because of Rex’s appearance, and now he was alone.

He could ask the Divine Lord for help, but he didn’t want to.

’Are those two from the Spirit Realm? Then only those two are the problems.’

"And thus, the question now is," Once he weighed the odds, his eyes returned to Adhara. "Can you stall for that long?"

Smirking devilishly, the uncanny werewolf raised his hand. One of his sharp and long claws detached from his hand and seamlessly floated upward like a crimson fang. It zig-zagged with swiftness—as if it has a mind of its own, and there’s a purpose in that mind.

It then hummed with power and sank through the dimensional fabric of the Mortal Realm.

And with a slow, horizontal drag, a slitted portal was opened.

Blood leaked out from it and fell like a haunting waterfall behind the uncanny werewolf. He retained his smirk and pointed over Adhara and the others. Pointing straight at the dimensional pocket barrier at the other end of the canyon.

"Children," He uttered, loud enough to be heard. "Raze every single place that has their scent, and kill everyone that gets in your way. Let’s start this Blood Hunting Carnival."

Roar—!

Adhara’s eyes darted up at the bleeding portal in shock when she heard beastly growls.

Growls that responded to the uncanny werewolf’s command, and it came from beyond the portal.

Unconsciously, her eyes traced the length of the slitted portal. It almost stretched from one end of the canyon to the other. A mile, maybe two. If the monsters lurking behind it poured out now—in numbers vast enough to fill that span, then it’s going to be a big problem.

"Close the portal!!"

Bam—!

In an instant, the uncanny werewolf charged and hacked with his claws.

Princess Selene reacted quickly, utilizing her speed to get in the way and block the slash.

Her arms were almost severed, but she blocked the attack. The force from the attack knocked her back, colliding with Adhara as they screeched across the ground. Miriam charged moonlight energy, making a massive sphere between her hands.

Despite the blood leaking from her nose, she raised the massive sphere overhead.

"Moon Ability: Lunar Boom!"

Miriam threw the massive sphere with a violent grunt.

Since the portal had only just opened, it still needed time to stabilize. If she could wrap the space around it enough, the distortion would shatter its momentary fragile balance and sever its fragile connection to the other side, sealing it for good.

Her attack was aimed at doing exactly that.

But she was too late to seize that small window.

Splash—!

A mighty growl reverberated through the air—as a crimson wolf the size of a monster with blood as fur exploded from the portal and intercepted the sphere. It swallowed the entire thing whole, and the sheer might of the detonation erupted inside its jaws.

But instead of tearing it apart, the moonlight energy sank into the beast.

It drank the light and grew stronger.

Moonlight energy-based attacks don’t work on them.

Kicking the air with its hind legs, the crimson wolf tackled Miriam down from the sky.

Behind—thousands upon thousands of crimson wolves came out and flooded the entire canyon. Like a red tide, they sniffed the air, taking in the scent of the enemies and branding it into their minds, and then charged straight at where the uncanny werewolf pointed.

Adhara and Princess Selene recovered.

Both rose to their knees and then tried to stand, but lost balance when the ground quaked under them.

Startled—both raised their eyes to the oncoming tide. A horde that size should easily shake the earth beneath them, but the quake did not come from them. "Look!" Princess Selene thrust her finger toward the distance. Adhara’s gaze followed. "It’s open... This is really bad."

Not too far away, on the edge of the canyon, the space separated into a sizeable entrance.

One that the crimson wolves could go through and ransack their world.

"Let’s outpace them and warn the others to evacuate!" Princess Selene suggested.

"No!" Adhara’s roar tore through the air as she erupted back into her werewolf form, the radiance of the Anti-Werewolf bloodline blazing around her. "Didn’t you hear what he said?! They’re heading for the capital! Dargena City! I have to stop this!"

She knew that this was wrong.

At this moment, what Rex wanted her to do the most was to run. Preserve her life.

Even earlier, when her eyes met with his, she made a promise that she would survive and wait for him to return for good and stop this chaos. Adhara didn’t know how he would do that in such a short time, but if there’s one thing that she owed to Rex, then it’s to believe him.

Believe that he would return in time.

Her life is far more important than anything in Rex’s eyes, and she knew it.

But she couldn’t back away right now.

Knowing what these entities were aiming to do, she simply couldn’t stand still and hide like a coward.

’Dargena City... It’s his dream. Making a peaceful world is his noble dream, and the city... It’s his very own milestone. He had gone through so much to get to that point. So much suffering. I can’t.’ Adhara balled her hands and clenched them tightly. ’I can’t let them destroy it. I refused to let them destroy it.’

No matter what, Adhara is going to stand her ground.

If it costs her life in the process, then so be it.

After all, destroying the city was one thing that Adhara could accept. But these monsters weren’t going to stop there. They intended to do despicable things to Calidora and the child in her womb, and that was another thing that she couldn’t accept.

She hated Calidora, but that child was Rex’s. Undeniably so.

And Adhara wouldn’t let anything touch it until it drew its first breath and saw the world Rex had built.

Hopefully, when the time came, the peaceful world would already have been established.

"Are you crazy?!" Princess Selene roared. "We can’t. We can’t possibly hold this."

"You can run," Adhara’s body began to pulsate with enormous moonlight energy, and she slowly began to levitate. "I’m not leaving until I at least try."

Princess Selene was right.

Considering their combined powers, along with those who are still around, stopping the horde of crimson is impossible. It was nothing more than hopeful thinking. But she has another power right now. One that was bestowed upon her by Rex.

If anything, Rex’s power has always been devastating.

And after what the enemies witnessed earlier, this power would strike fear into them.

She didn’t know what it would do, but she knew how to do it.

Adhara sucked in a deep breath, filling her lungs to their max capacity, and charged every single ounce of moonlight energy inside her into her mouth. Her eyes sparkled as she cocked back her head—and let out a thunderous roar.

ROAR—!

Almost instantly, the entire world stilled.

A shockwave erupted outward—an expanding ring of pure force—and slammed into the charging horde. Every crimson wolf was hurled back, their momentum shattered. The onlookers froze. Adhara’s roar had actually stopped them.

Though it was temporary, it’s still a surprising feat.

The uncanny werewolf protected himself from the shockwave with his own energy—and looked up at the floating Female Alpha. His eyes narrowed, sensing that the roar was more than meets the eye. And as expected, something else happened.

He tilted his head up and noticed a silver fog, and it enveloped the entire canyon.
