The Last Vampire God
Chapter 25: Final Words
I get a bit closer to him and before biting into his neck I feel his hand grip my shoulder.
"Hunters will never stop you know," He says weakly.
"I didn’t think they would. Is there anything you want to tell me about Lumiel?" I ask with a blunt tone.
"You think I’d betray them..." He responds.
"No, but I’d still like to know about Lumiel," I say with a serious tone.
He has a bit of a surprised look on his face since he was probably expecting an interrogation.
Then again, he doesn’t realize that I’m about to try something new when I’m done with him here anyway. It doesn’t really matter if he tells me or not since I’ll know some stuff soon.
At least that’s the hope I can have.
"Lumiel is a beautiful capital that was constructed by humans and elves. It also has nice spots throughout the kingdom where boats can go about. But I think the place is suicide overall for a vampire since the hunters were started there," He tells me as he leans back.
Lumiel being the main home of the hunters is quite interesting to learn about, but elves also helped with the construction of Lumiel?
I wonder if that was before the thought of making an entire faction dedicated to hunting us, or if it was after. That’s what I’d really be interested in since it would give me a bit of information about the elves.
Lia is still fine either way since she would’ve done something by now if she assumed I’d be an enemy.
"Any final words?" I ask while moving back towards his neck.
I don’t need any other information about Lumiel for now, especially when he hardly has the strength for it.
"Ariel won’t be the last capital to fall," He responds before closing his eyes.
After he says that I sink my teeth into his neck, immediately drunk his blood. Nothing feels like it is happening at first... Until everything around me disappears again.
[Within an unknown Room]
"Do you really think you’ll be enough for the Ariel attack Hans?" A mysterious man asks from across the room.
"I’ll be able to handle it. I’ve helped with worst missions," Hans responds with a confident tone.
I take a look around the room and notice that it is full of hunters, all of which are wearing hoods. None seem to have their faces shown so I don’t have a single clue about who is important here.
Creeeek!
The door opens up behind me and a man with long red hair that flows down his back, bright green eyes, and appears to be wearing a black trench coat with a few ribbons on it shows up.
The man I saw in the town a couple months ago is here. It makes sense that I’d see him since this is from the man’s memories. I think his name must be Hans since that looks like the one I just dealt with.
But I’m more curious about this guy since his face isn’t covered in the slightest, he is just wearing his exact outfit from the last time I saw him.
"Ahh, Sylas is here. I didn’t think you’d be coming back so soon," Hans says with a surprised look on his face.
"The vampire I was tracking disappeared. I don’t know how he did it, but I’m sure he’ll pop up again," Sylas replies before taking a seat.
He sits down and immediately crosses his arms, he looks kind of young too. The rest of the people in this room are hiding their faces for some odd reason.
Yet, Hans and Sylas have their faces out in the open. Hunters really don’t make a lot of sense to me after all.
"So you lost the vampire from the manor?" A man says from the end of the table.
The man at the end of the table might be one of the ones in charge, based off his appearance. He’s wearing a very similar outfit to Sylas except his face is hidden by a strange all black mask.
His hair isn’t showing either, probably tucked underneath the hood.
"For now. Again, I don’t think it’ll be long before he shows his face," Sylas says with confidence.
"What about the other two?" The Man asks with a serious tone.
"Their bodies were nowhere to be found after the manor collapsed but I have other hunters looking just in case," Sylas answers with a laid back tone.
Dad and Lukas could be alive but the chances are slim since hunters don’t tend to leave loose ends. I got lucky with Mel saving my ass back in that town.
These memories are proving to be quite useful so far... Just I don’t hear anything else important yet. Lumiel would be the main thing I need to know about.
"Hans this attack is important. We suspect that the king of Ariel is a vampire. Lumiel will not stand for a vampire to be in charge of a capital, let alone humans who live within it. Kill them all with the soldiers that are sent," The man explains.
"I’ll make sure everything goes as planned," Hans says with a small salute.
"What if there is more than one vampire there?" Sylas asks with curiosity.
"I’m sure Hans can handle it. Most vampires haven’t fed on humans in centuries, they’ll be weak," The Man answers without hesitation.
Only if he knew that I already killed Hans and know exactly what they told him now. Those bastards didn’t care for the lives of the people here since they lived under rule of a vampire.
I doubt they even knew that Remi was a vampire in the first place... But even if they did, what is the big deal? He protected them and kept peace for centuries.
I’ll never understand why the hunters are like this. This right here proves why I need to kill them all.
