The Lycan's Sin

"Fucking Lycans!" Jude spat on the large gates in front of him. He kicked it and once he was satisfied, he got into the car that was waiting for him.

"Call them... The Lycan will not give Ava back to us!" he barked at his secretary. "Ugh! Those things always thought they are above everyone else just because of their damn blood!!!" he clenched his hand. He wanted to punch someone. How could Matthew Graydon just treat him as some... shifter? He is the local head of the North American Chapter of Trillium!

Does that shifter know something?

He shook his head and let out a few other curses.

After a few minutes, the car finally arrived at the airport where a private jet had been waiting for him. Getting into the jet, his expression immediately soured.

"Why are you here?" he asked.

Amore Mclary looked at the people who boarded the plane with him. Before she frowned. "I don’t see her anywhere."

"The Lycan won’t give her to us."

"Then you better go back and do something about it! It is important that we know about that explosion!"

"I couldn’t sense her."

"What?"

"She’s not inside the mansion."

"Then... where could she be?" Amore scowled. "She had nowhere to run."

"Who knows? That Lycan is hell-bent on keeping her."

"He wanted to risk having a war against us?"

"Who knows?"

"You just talked to him!"

"Talked?" Jude snorted. He found one of the seat and sat on it. Then he accepted the champagne that his assistant gave him. "It wasn’t even a conversation." It was more like Matthew was trying to suppress him!

"He threatened you. And you got scared," Amore snorted. "The great Jude Caro from the prominent shifter family got intimidated."

"Stop talking. I am not in the mood to talk to you."

"Really?" Amore elegantly crossed her legs. She then smiled at Jude. "So, you are saying that the Lycan has enough to scare you."

"I said I wasn’t scared!"

"Oh please... Jude. Did you pee your pants while talking to him?"

Jude downed the champagne. Then he handed it back to his secretary. In response, his secretary poured him another glass of champagne.

"That damn mutt wanted to keep Ava."

"And you are too weak to stop him?"

"He is a Lycan!" There is a reason why Lycans are considered the strongest among them. Of course, a mere witch couldn’t understand that! "But that doesn’t matter. I already told them that the Lycan isn’t giving us Ava."

"What?"

"They can take care of that."

"You— How could you tell them that?"

"They were — no wait— " Jude smiled at him. "You were the ones who wanted her, right? Then you go and deal with that Lycan! You already knew that Lycans could suppress all shifters and you still asked me to talk to him. If you wanted to humiliate, why not do it publicly?"

"So, he was able to suppress you."

"It’s not a secret that he is going to be the next King of the Lycans. Did you really expect their King to be that weak?" Jude’s kind was called Werelions. Of course, they were considered strong. They were kings in their own ways. However, for some fucked up reason, a Lycan can easily suppress a Werelion without even blinking.

Not many Lycans can do this.

Usually, a normal weaker Lycan couldn’t suppress him. But Royalties are no joke.

"How the hell did that woman convince him to protect her? He hated witches. He’s here because of that!"

"Who knows? Maybe she fucks better than all those hot Lycans."

Amore snorted at that.

"So, what are you going to do now?" she asked.

"Nothing."

"What?"

"I don’t even know if she’s alive. I smelt something in that place."

"What?"

"I smelled something... dead. Like... a rotten smell. I don’t like it."

"You think— "

"Did you see her get out of that burning building?" he asked.

"That— "

"If Ava died. Then that might be the reason why the Lycans are hiding her. Maybe... there was something inside that body that could lead us to whoever made that bomb."

"You are saying..." Amore’s face turned ugly. "Then we need to have her body no matter what!"

"You can get it. If you want to fight against an army of Lycan inside a mansion surrounded by iron."

"Damnit! Those Lycans must have... they must have made that experiment to deal with powerful witches. Ava herself was already..." Amore bit her lower lip. "That foolish girl! How could..."

"What? Are you going to blame me for suspending her? The woman offended a few killers. It would make sense for her to find someone that could protect her after we let her go."

"Tsk. How the hell did she know that Lycan?"

"Who knows?"

"Tsk!"

Amore looked outside the jet.

"We need to get her. If she’s alive then we need to drag her out of that place. If she’s dead... then we need to drag her body out of that mansion!"

"Are you... declaring war against Lycans?" Jude scowled. "I won’t fight against them."

Amore squinted. "You can’t... but other witches can. The other covens... once they knew that Ava was... kidnapped by a Lycan they would — "

"That’s absurd. We all know Ava hated the covens. It wouldn’t make sense for them to protect someone like her who has killed witches when she’s still in Trillium."

Amore pursed her lips.

"Ava was the top of our class," Jude sighed. "She finished the course in two months. The same course that took me two years to finish. Then she became an agent who hunted criminal witches and shifters. Don’t you understand that?" Jude leaned forward. "The woman... have killed more witches than me. And that’s considering she’s also a witch. Let’s not count the number of shifters that she killed in Sierra Leone during that... incident."

"She’s young. How could that be possible?"

"She’s twenty-six and she’s only been with us for more than a year. Her records were sealed. Even you and I don’t have the qualifications to see it."

"I thought Samuel..."

"I thought so too. But I was the wrong Priestess. I think... someone in the higher-ups wanted her there. In the Lycans mansion."
