[Chapter 137: The king of werewolves]

Surrounded in all corners, Incus stared coldly as she smiled gently.

"Bringing more will only delay your death." With a blank expression, Incus paused for a moment before continuing:

"By about 10 seconds."

The great king of the werewolves chuckled.

"Human... you die now..!" He said in a broken tone.

The werewolves then lunged at Incus.

Not moving a single inch, Incus made quick work of them.

"That sword... not yours."

Putting the [Lightning hero’s sword] on her shoulder, she laughed before staring blankly again.

"The hero’s swords belong to me." Summoning the [Earth hero’s sword] Incus stabbed it into the ground.

"ExcalEarth." Pillars then rose from the ground, forming a roofless dome.

"There’s no escape, and if you try calling for your puppies to aid you then I will make sure that your death is a ruthless one."

Growling, the king of the werewolves dashed forward, swinging his massive hammer.

Stomping on the shallow water, Incus blocked the attack by commanding all of the scales of the [Dragon scales armor] to focus in one form a wall in one area.

Wildly swinging his sword, the king of the werewolves began swinging faster and stronger.

"Cowardice hero!" He spat, his saliva splattering on Incus.

Looking down on her [Hero’s Armor], something snapped inside her.

Dissipating the hero swords, Incus began walking at the towering demon.

"Lick it off."

Raising an eyebrow, the king of werewolves asked:

"Lick... what?"

Grabbing him by the chest fur, Incus slammed him down.

"Lick off your saliva off my armor... now."

Growling, the king of werewolves broke free by jumping back, but there was an an empty patch on his chest.

"You insult... me!"

Activating the skill [Absolute strength], the king of werewolves swung his hammer with full force at Incus.

When Incus tried to block the attack by focusing the dragon scales to form a wall, she was instead met with a crushing force.

The wall of dragon scales was pushed back alongside her.

"You’ve gotten a little stronger, but it won’t be enough to defeat me."

Walking towards the king of werewolves, Incus was struck with the hammer again, slamming into the summoned earth.

She kept doing this until the werewolf king grew tired.

"Are you done with your tantrum?" Incus asked, her blood falling down her face.

Seeing that she hadn’t gotten a response, Incus summoned the [Fire hero’s sword] and rested it on the werewolf king’s neck.

Realizing what was about to happen, the werewolf king swung his giant hammer upwards.

Stopping the attack with an open palm, Incus crushed the steel of the hammer.

In disbelief, the werewolf king jumped at Incus, digging his hangs.

"I wouldn’t try that if I were you."

The werewolf king’s fangs had failed penetrate through her armor.

Incus then grabbed one of his fangs before breaking it in half.

"It’s been fun but I’m more of a cat person."

Punching the werewolf king, he was sent flying through the summoned earth.

Howling the werewolves jumped into the hole.

Commanding the [Dragon scales armor] to turn into a sword, Incus slaughtered wave after wave of werewolves.

With each wave, the water became thick as it gradually turned into the color of deep crimson red.

Soon, the amount of bodies became too much and the werewolves couldn’t enter anymore.

Stomping into the ground, she swung the dragon scales sword, eviserating everything within a certain vicinity.

Holding back her strength as much as possible so that she wouldn’t destroy the inn.

Barely standing back on his feet, the king of the werewolves commanded:

"Kill her!"

Every single werewolf had jumped at Incus.

Exhaling a cold breath, Incus raised the dragon scales sword.

"Thousand spear sky."

An engulfing amount of sword thrusts swallowed the werewolves.

Covered in a rain of blood.

The king of the werewolves began running on all fours, preparing to bite Incus.

Accelerating forward, Incus had formed a line in the werewolf king’s body.

In the next moment, the werewolf king had been cleanly severed in half.

The crimson sky began turning into it’s original color, the sun was still in the process of rising.

Closing her eyes and taking a large breath through her nose, Incus thought:

’It’s strange, a demon raid happening in such a place like this... usually it would be in places with a population such as a village... the demon king must be on to me.’

"Ring, is it over...?" Alleus asked, her legs barely standing up.

Running over to her side to help her, I replied:

"Yeah, but we can’t let our guards down... there’s probably going to be more demon raids as we make our way to the kingdom of Febritust."

Opening the door of the inn, I helped Alleus settle down next to Lieur and the woman that Vertere helped... Ulna.

"How’s her healing going?" I asked Vertere, as he was casting a simple healing barrier similar to the healer that healed Alleus, however his one different.

While the healer’s was more like a sphere, Vertere’s was more rectangular.

"It’s not going so well. I tried reconnecting her arm but intricate parts of her nerves and a major part of her bones had been completely shattered." Vertere said, sweat falling down his face as his healing barrier grew smaller.

Lieur was looking off to the side, hiding her face.

Damn it.

If only I was just a little faster. Just a fraction more stronger, then none of this would’ve happened.

The door behind me then creaked open, as Incus walked down a hall near the front desk.

Exhaling, Vertere made the healing barrier dissipate.

"I’m spend for today. I’ve managed to close her wound but she can never use a—"

"Don’t say it!" Lieur shouted in outrage, her face covered by her hair.

Jumping over Lieur, Alleus hugged her tightly.

Suddenly, Ulna, the betrayed mage of the party woke up.

"H-huh, where am I..?" Looking around, she stared blankly, "And who are you..?"

Turning around, we all looked at each other before pushing Vertere towards her.

"H-hey!" Vertere stumbled.

Turning towards Ulna, he began to explain in the best way he could:

"Well, you can say that we’re adventurers who passed along the way. I saw that you were about to be pushed, so I used my magic to save you."

Raising his wand, Vertere conjured a small sphere of water with ice rotating around it.

"My name’s Vertere, water mage."

Ulna then stood up and began walking towards the door.

Grabbing her by the hand, Vertere asked:

"Where are you going? It’s not safe out there."

Pulling back her hand, Ulna stared down at Vertere.

"I’m going to bury my friends."

Standing up Vertere followed her.

"I’ll go with you."

Glancing over at Lieur, a sliver of her face was slightly showing.

I could only describe with one word:

Despair.

"Leave me be for a while captain... and you too Alleus."

Looking at each other, we both stepped out and started helping Ulna who was using her bare hands dig up a hole.
