Incus then slashed the meteor into two, and summoned multiple ice swords to destroy the remaining chunks that were split into debris.

"You cannot win this battle hero, this is not my limit." Gratius then clapped again, this time it was louder.

"Soldiers from earth, rise and slaughter all who remains."

Rising from the buildings and everything made of earth, demon looking soldiers were forged.

Immediately, the soldiers lunged at me and my party.

Glancing at Lieur, I jumped towards her and became her vanguard.

"Make sure to cover me." I said.

"Of course captain, I am a ranger after all." Lieur scoffed.

Multiple earth soldiers then covered my front, there was a whole army of them. Shifting my attention towards the others, Alleus had taken off her eye patch, Ulna and Vertere were covering her from the rear.

It wouldn’t hurt for one of them to come here and aid me.

Closing my eyes, I used blade aura and expanded my the mana then compressed it.

Opening my eyes, wind was twisting around my blade.

I may not have been blessed with immense power like Incus, but even I can hold my own against weaklings.

Dashing forward, I swung at the earth soldiers.

As soon as I clashed against them with their stone made swords, I jumped back.

They’re incredibly strong, I expended for them to break upon impact of my sword.

"Captain, be careful... it seems that they’re reinforced by mana. Don’t take them lightly." Lieur said seriously.

Nodding, I wanted to command the dragon scales armor to strengthen me but I can only use it twice and there might be an occasion where I desperately need it... not only that but I suspect that there is going to be multiple battles in the near future.

Glancing over at Incus, she was battling the demon Gratius who summoned a titan.

Lunging towards me, multiple earth soldiers were pushing me back.

"Lieur get back!" I shouted.

This is bad, even if I take down a few of them, the blunt damage they’ll sustain on me will limit my combat capabilities... even if I got healed by Vertere, it will take some time and by then we’ll be left in the dust by Incus.

Gritting my teeth, I mimicked how Kanium’s older sister used her sword.

Using Excaliburn will only prove ineffective against enemies whose made of earth, compared to Incus, I still can’t completely eviscerate an enemy.

With a sigh, I merely deflected as much attacks as possible, letting the dragon scales armor to shift around and float just a bit off of my skin so that even if I did get hit, I wouldn’t get hurt.

But then the earth soldiers combined their attacks and kept slamming against me.

The dragon scales were pushed back onto my flesh and because of the crazy amount of attacks, I was left no room to attack.

Lieur’s arrows would push a soldier or two back but not destroy them.

I need Incus to hurry up and finish her battle quickly, I don’t think I can last much longer. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Gritting my teeth, I slammed the fire hero’s sword into the ground.

"Excaliburn!" I shouted, causing the roof to break and fall into the room of where a child was hiding under her bed.

Shit!

"Captain, no!" Lieur tried to reach out but was assaulted by an attack by the earth soldiers.

Grabbing her, I threw her into another room.

I need to destroy these bastards now before they go and kill off the remaining survivors.

"Scales strengthen me!" With newfound strength, I threw away all of my techniques and just started swinging wildly.

The earth soldiers then cracked and broke from the strike of my sword.

Shifting my pupils from side to side, I continued to swing my sword.

I managed to destroy a few, but the earth soldiers who were in the rear used their vanguards as shields to land attacks on me.

Sheathing the fire hero’s sword into the scabbard, I gritted my teeth.

It looks like they break as soon as they sustain an injury, the mana that made them strong was only on their exterior and not their interior... a strong enough attack can kill them.

"You mindless piles of dirt... I will slaughter all of you until you become soil once more!" I declared.

Lunging forward, I used my martial arts to release an onslaught of attacks.

Punch after punch and kick after kick, the amount of earth soldiers dwindled.

Seeing that one of them were about to get past me, I jumped towards the soldier and destroyed it with a back kick.

"Don’t even try getting past me you bastards!"

Stomping on the ground, I pulled my fist back and pierced my hand through one of the soldiers with a knife hand technique.

Throwing the soldier, it flew through the wall and formed a hole.

Glancing back behind me, the door was slightly opened.

"Don’t open the door kiddo, this is dangerous." I said, softening my voice.

But then the girl pointed at something.

Looking at the direction, she was pointing at the stuffed plushy.

Flicking her a thumbs up, I dashed forward, grabbing one of the soldiers and threw it at the others, launching them out of the hole formed on the wall.

Grabbing a stuffed plushy from a shelf, I walked towards the door and gently opened it.

Bending down, I gave the plush to the little girl.

Looking behind her, I turned my head around the empty living room.

"Where’s your parents kiddo?" I asked.

Grimacing, the girl gripped the plushy.

Sighing, I patted her head.

"Just stay here and make sure that you don’t step out, got it?" There isn’t any better options out there, taking her with me would be a bad idea.

Giving me nods, the girl said:

"Okay!"

Giving her a gentle smile, I closed the door and jumped up through the hole I made through the roof.

Lieur was managing to hold back the earth soldiers with steel strings.

Incus was still battling against the demon Gratius.

Alleus was finishing up her battle with the assistance of Vertere and Ulna.
