Chapter 60: 141 (3)

Dashing towards Lieur, I began crushing the earth soldiers one by one.

"Lieur, just hold on a little longer!" I commanded.

Grabbing two of the soldiers, I jumped up in the air and slammed the two against the other earth soldiers.

I’m running out of time on the strengthening of the dragon scales armor, I have to finish this soon.

Landing on the ground, I began punching from side to side, anything that’s within my striking distance was crushed.

Eventually, I reached Lieur.

"Were you waiting long?" I smirked.

"Not long at all captain." Lieur smirked back.

Retracting the steel strings, Lieur held the daggers in both hands.

Maneuvering around each other, Lieur pulled the earth soldiers towards me, and I would destroy them.

After a few moments of this, all of the earth soldiers had been destroyed.

"Will Incus be finished with her battle soon, we should hurry up and pick up the pace—" Interrupting Lieur, something erupted behind me.

Turning around, I saw as the demon Gratius had summoned a large grotesque monster made of earth, and that wasn’t the only thing... there were people on the monster.

Glancing up in the sky, it didn’t write this but because the demon’s magic uses the environment, people will get caught in the crossfire.

With shaky eyes, I saw as the little girl who I told to hide was on top of the grotesque earth summon.

Without wasting anytime, I quickly ran towards the battle of Incus and the demon Gratius.

"Captain where are you going, it’s too dangerous!" Lieur tried to catch me but I was already too far.

As I was in the air, the strengthening of the dragon scales armor had ceased.

"Go and help Alleus instead, don’t worry about me!" I commanded.

Glaring at the grotesque earth summon, I managed to cling on a piece of door which was wedged in the earth summon.

The earth summon swung with every attack aimed at Incus, I was quite a fall away from the moat on the ground so I gripped onto the surface as hard as I possibly could even if my flesh would tear.

Gritting my teeth, I slowly started to climb up.

Without the strengthening of the dragon scales armor, I had to force my muscles to flex and make sure that I wouldn’t fall off.

A large impact made some chunks of earth to fall off and plummet to the moat down below.

As I continued to climb higher, a working man suddenly gripped my forearm.

"Please young man, you’ve got to help me! My legs have been crushed—!" The earth summoned the moved, grinding the man’s legs even further.

"Grraaagh!" The man screamed in pain.

Forcing my forearm free, I continued to climb.

I can’t save him.

The higher I climbed the more people I encountered who had met the same fate as the working man.

Mucus was forming in my throat, as my mouth grew dry... with every inch I climbed higher, small debris would fall on my sweat filled face.

I then encountered a youth around my age, he was desperately clinging onto a crevice.

His fingers were scratched, revealing his bleeding flesh.

Seeing that I noticed him, he frowned.

"Please sir, can you help me..! I can’t hold on any longer!" His hands trembled.

Extending my hand, I commanded for the dragon scales to act as a rope.

Once it had wrapped around the youth, I started to sway the scales.

"W-What are you doing!" He asked.

"I’m going to throw you towards the water path, make sure you hide inside a building as fast as you can... just get away from here!" I winced.

Once the motion of the swing became wide enough, I launched the youth.

He then positioned positioned himself into a diving position in the air.

Retracting the scales back, I commanded for them to cling onto a crevice higher up to ensure I don’t fall.

I had to kick myself free from those who wanted to be free because they were either too injured or practically dead.

A large impact then sent the earth summon stumbling back.

Trying to grip on for dear life, my fingers accidentally slipped and I slammed onto the surface of the earth summon.

"Ack!"

Even if the dragon scales softened the blow, the surface was uneven.

Stabling myself, I eventually reached the top.

"Mister, it’s you!" The girl then came and hugged me.

"Scales, protect her." I commanded, the dragon scales wrapped around her in a bulky form.

"H-huh, what is this?" She hugged her plushy.

Flicking my finger, I commanded the scales to protect the plushy as well.

Placing her over my shoulder, I nearly lost my footing when another impact made the earth summon.

Catching myself, I looked around for any a way to get down safely but there wasn’t so I only had one choice.

I have to jump down.

Gulping cold air, I instructed:

"Make sure to hold your breath, we’re going to take a deep dive!" As soon as I finished what I was saying, I was already falling down to the ground.

Bracing myself, I splashed into the water moat.

Opening my eyes, It was difficult to see as everything was a deep crimson. But the thing’s I did see were the remains of torn flesh.

Swimming back up, I began gasping for air once I reached the surface.

But this nightmare wasn’t over yet.

Large chunks of debris were falling down.

"Take a deep breath!" I shouted, which the girl complied.

Shielding the girl by turning my back to turn towards the sky, we were tossed around by large waves.

An enormous of fallen earth was plummeting down.

Pulling out the fire hero’s sword, I shouted:

"Excaliburn!"

Swinging the the blade, an arc of flame shot out, destroying the plummeting chunk of earth.

The flame had managed to destroy it because it wasn’t reinforced by mana but now there was a new problem, it had split into even smaller chunks.

Are you shitting me right now.

Looking around, I threw the little girl towards a safe place.

After I did, the debris began falling on me like an unsettling shower.

I was getting slammed deep into the moat.
