Chapter 771 - The Gods Descend!

Inside the Divine Weapon Civilization, Divine Weapon City lay in ruins. The negative energy had corrupted the countless civilians and warriors who had once lived there, turning them into creatures driven only by slaughter. Even with the five city lords using their Divine Weapons to seal off the entire city and contain the spread, casualties kept rising.

Jin Buhuan, the city lord of Everlight City, felt like cursing. If he had listened to Han Wu from the start and prepared even a little more, the situation wouldn’t have deteriorated so badly.

Unfortunately, there was no medicine for regret. All he could do now was hold his position and keep the negative energy pouring from the secret realm contained within Divine Weapon City.

The assault was relentless. Waves of negative energy surged from the secret realm and crashed against the barriers they had constructed without stopping.

The fusion of the Dark King and Hei Qi had formed an incomprehensibly large entity that covered the entire plaza. Hundreds of octopus-like tentacles writhed from its frame, each tipped with a black blade. Every sweep sent out powerful blade auras that slashed the barrier and made the entire seal quiver.

The creature kept absorbing the negative emotions of the billions of living beings in Divine Weapon City, growing larger and more powerful. Words like fierce, brutal, or savage couldn’t fully describe its strength.

The five city lords had lost all trace of their earlier confidence. They could only wait and pray that the Will of the Divine Weapon Civilization would bring help before everything collapsed.

In the Divine Civilization, the College Alliance was locked in a heated dispute over who would be allowed to support the Divine Weapon Civilization.

Everyone knew it was a golden opportunity. Entering with their true bodies while suppressing the chaos would yield enormous gains. With profit within reach, each faction scrambled to secure a share, but no one could persuade the others to yield.

The Will of the Divine Weapon Civilization had no patience for delay. It imposed a strict limit of ten individuals from the Divine Civilization who could enter with their true bodies. Any more, and the Will feared losing control of the situation. Seeking help like this was akin to letting wolves into a flock of sheep. It also designated Han Wu to select the ten individuals.

Why did it nominate Han Wu? Because before requesting to leave the Divine Weapon Civilization, Han Wu had warned the Will about the danger within the secret realm. It had ignored him and was now paying the price. As a result, Han Wu was the one it trusted most.

In an instant, every college representative, including Luo Yun, looked at Han Wu. Promises of resources flooded the room and almost overwhelmed him. A simple nod from him would secure enough resources to elevate someone to a Major God.

Yet Han Wu had no shortage of resources. The Spirit Stones of the Giant Shadow Civilization were still being mined, generating constant income. The scale alone could make even a God King's mouth water.

Meanwhile, as the Blood Coliseum’s inheritor, his daily income rivaled anything these colleges could put together. Beyond that, his divine realm contained multiple enterprises and a vast number of races. His rate of wealth accumulation was not slower than that of some of the weaker God Kings.

Han Wu smiled politely at the offers and gave them no further thought. He announced his selections without hesitation: himself, Wisdom God King Xu Hai, Qin Shuang, Sun Qingnian, and Xiang Meng's trio. Seven spots were filled in an instant.

The college representatives panicked. If Han Wu continued unchecked, the entire share of benefits from the Divine Weapon Civilization would fall to Imperial College.

Xu Hai quickly reminded Han Wu to distribute the remaining nominations. After all, allowing their college to dominate entirely would only create enemies.

Han Wu took his advice and announced that of the three remaining spots, one would go to Demonic Imperial College's Xu Mengmeng, one to the College Alliance’s chairman, and the final spot would be decided by lottery among the remaining college representatives. That was the extent of his concession.

Even one spot was better than none. The colleges drew lots, and the final spot fell to Warfare College. Their representative immediately assigned it to their top student, Gan Xiangyu.

With the ten names finalized, the Will of the Divine Weapon Civilization opened the gate. The chosen ten would descend upon Divine Weapon City in their true bodies.

Inside Divine Weapon City, the five city lords were enduring immense pressure as their Divine Weapons formed the core of the powerful sealing array that held back the relentless assault.

Then a sun appeared in the sky, and powerful figures stepped out of it one by one.

The Gods had descended. Divine Authorities rolled out like a wave, and every living being within Divine Weapon City felt an irresistible urge to kneel.

“Wisdom God King, please, after you,” Luo Yun said politely to Xu Hai.

Without Xu Hai's nudge to Han Wu, he would never have secured a spot in the first place.

“Chairman Luo, you're too kind. Why don't we stay back and let the younger ones go first?” Xu Hai replied.

Luo Yun was not yet a God King, but his current position and resources made it only a matter of time. The only reason he hadn't broken through yet was that he was seeking a more powerful Divine Jurisdiction.

Luo Yun scanned the eight students before them. Apart from Han Wu, who was a Major God, the rest were Gods. With only the authority of Gods, how much can they realistically secure from the rewards? Then again, letting them go first will showcase my generosity as chairman of the College Alliance.

Luo Yun smiled. “As you wish, Wisdom God King.”

With both of them in agreement, Han Wu and the others moved. They descended upon Divine Weapon City like comets, opened their divine realm gates, and unleashed their core race to deal with the chaos consuming the city.

Although Han Wu was a Major God, the one present here was not his full self but only an avatar with a portion of his power. His true body was still mining in the Giant Shadow Civilization. However, that limitation didn’t affect his races’ capabilities.

While the others opened their divine realms to release their races, Han Wu, as a World life form, simply summoned his Microcosms: his original Microcosm, Dark Microcosm, Mechanical Microcosm, Dead Microcosm, and Soul Microcosm. One after another, they surrounded him. Endless waves of units poured out and surged toward the corrupted creatures rampaging through the city.

Han Wu stood still. The seal from Karl of Pluto manifested on his skin, absorbed the Death Energy drifting through Divine Weapon City, and formed new Dead Microcosms in rapid succession.

Han Wu directed his Soul Microcosm to rise above the city. Within it, the underworld, still only half-built, opened for operation. A suction force targeted wandering souls that had fallen in battle and added them to Han Wu's reserves of talented individuals. He didn't let the corpses go to waste either. He used his Divine Skills to convert them into skeletons, then refined them further through Merge.

Before long, several thousand King Osteomancers rose within Divine Weapon City. They led numerous Common skeletons, forming a skeletal tide that only grew larger the longer the battle dragged on.

The five city lords watched in stunned silence. The pressure on the seal had eased noticeably in less than three hours after the Gods’ arrival.

“Those from the Divine Civilization are terrifying,” Jin Buhuan murmured.

He glanced toward a corner not far away. His son-in-law had summoned a wave of Foxmen and was battling the corrupted creatures. Compared to the skeletal tide and the locust swarm, Sun Qingnian’s efforts looked like a trivial skirmish.

Jin Buhuan finally understood. It wasn't the Gods from the Divine Civilization who were terrifying. It was Han Wu.

“If only I had made Han Wu my son-in-law instead.” Jin Buhuan let out a long sigh. “What a waste.”
