The Shining Star Above The Heaven
Chapter 1171: The First Problem Comes
Su Wenxin saw the group from Red Moon Guild turn their heads toward them, their faces showing clear surprise. Without saying anything, they immediately strode in her direction, and she knew that was a sign of trouble.
Moreover, the one leading them was a well-known troublemaker to the municipal police. Worse, he deliberately released his aura, as if he wanted everyone present to feel it.
Su Wenxin gritted her teeth as she sensed this.
’Damnit! He already reached S-rank! That means they must be here for a party or something like that.’
The manager seemed to want to stop them even though he was afraid, but they ignored him and kept approaching Aldrian’s table.
Su Wenxin knew she had to deal with it before they reached Aldrian, so she spoke to him in a low voice.
"Sir Aldrian, excuse me, but I will—"
"Who are they?" Aldrian cut her off while still slicing his steak.
Su Wenxin froze for a moment, but still answered him. "They are hunters from Red Moon Guild. The Red Moon Guild is the strongest guild in China, so Sir Aldrian must know what that means."
Aldrian was about to take a bite of his steak when he heard the name of the guild. He stopped just before the meat reached his lips and glanced at Su Wenxin.
"Red Moon Guild?" he said.
Seeing that he wanted confirmation, Su Wenxin nodded. Aldrian finally took a bite of the steak and began to chew.
’Come to think of it, Zhang Haoran and I are the same. We are both from Shanghai in our past lives, and we even lived in the same era, although I died first. And the mafia group’s name that kidnapped his sister, and the same one that drove his little sister to suicide, is... Red Moon.’
He swallowed the meat.
’Are they the same group?’
It felt too precise to be just a coincidence. If these two groups were truly the same, then...
He could not help but recall Zhang Haoran’s last words to him, or rather, his request.
"If you are a god, please hear my request,"
"Please, avenge the death of my sister. I beg you with all my heart."
"I don’t care what I become in my next life, as long as those responsible for my sister’s death face their consequences."
He let out a quiet breath.
A faint irritation rose within him. Although he did not like Zhang Haoran at all after what he did to the Barisan Continent, he could not entirely blame him.
His circumstances had shaped him into that person. A heart filled with revenge had turned him into the monster he once became.
Aldrian did not judge him too harshly for becoming Tarius’ apostle. As someone weak, it was only natural to seek greater power, especially with revenge burning in his heart.
If he were in Zhang Haoran’s place, he might have made the same choice. His values would not be what they are now. On the path of revenge, things like morality are often the first to be cast aside.
Now that a group, possibly the very same one that created that monster, had appeared before him, he could not help but feel irritated. It was not that he had a direct grudge against them, but they were the reason Zhang Haoran became what he was.
Still, he showed none of it and continued focusing on his steak.
Aldrian and his wives ignored the approaching group, but Su Wenxin had already stopped eating. Her appetite had disappeared the moment she noticed them.
They almost arrived at Aldrian’s table as the manager hurriedly tried to explain to Su Wenxin.
"My apologies—"
"Fuck off. Don’t disturb us," one of the men said as he grabbed the manager and threw him aside. The manager crashed into a nearby table, making a mess.
The man did not spare him another glance. However, before they could get any closer, Su Wenxin stepped forward and blocked their path.
"Stop right there, Ye Zhentao. What do you want?"
The man leading them was a handsome young man with short brown hair. He wore a casual red shirt, with two of the top buttons left open, revealing part of his chest. With his tall build and tan skin, he carried an intimidating presence.
He smiled like a gentleman when he looked at Su Wenxin and greeted her.
"Ah, Captain Su. What a coincidence to see you here. I was planning to treat my friends to a meal after advancing to S-rank, and I asked for the best space in the restaurant. Yet it was already taken, and for such distinguished guests at that. They must be quite important for you to escort them personally."
As he said this, his gaze shifted from Aldrian to Sylphia and the others.
Su Wenxin narrowed her eyes. "If you know that, then you should behave and stay away. Choose another table. This is for your own good. Didn’t your guild receive any notice from the Hunter Association?"
Ye Zhentao raised his eyebrows. "A notice from the Hunter Association?"
He turned to look at the people behind him, his expression asking if they knew anything. They looked just as clueless, which made him shrug.
He continued smiling. "Well, perhaps the notice has not reached us yet from headquarters. Still, how could I leave without greeting such esteemed guests? Let me at least greet them first."
Su Wenxin gritted her teeth.
Like hell she would believe that!
Behind that gentlemanly and amicable expression hid an arrogant personality that feared offending no one, including otherworlders. He had records of beating and even killing some of them without reason, repeatedly causing conflict between otherworld forces and Earth.
Worse, he was also a womanizer!
She had no doubt he would stir trouble the moment he saw Sylphia, Baek Jimin, and Angelica.
She did not know what she needed to do to make this troublemaker go away. Now that he had reached S-rank, he was far stronger than her, and she could not stop him if he insisted on forcing his way forward.
The worst part was that Aldrian might have to personally step in, which would only make the situation escalate even further.
Ye Zhentao, as one of Red Moon Guild’s S-rank hunters, held an important position within the guild. If trouble arose because of him, it would most likely drag the entire Red Moon Guild into it. In fact, everyone standing behind him at this moment was an important member of the Shanghai branch.
She had to make sure Aldrian would not be the one to handle this.
"You don’t need to greet them. I’ll say this again. You’d better choose another table and leave without causing trouble, if not—"
"If not what?" Ye Zhentao cut her off, yet she continued without pause.
"If not, believe me, no one, not even your guild master, will be able to save you from what’s about to happen."
The Red Moon Guild members were stunned by that threat.
The audacity!
Who were they?
They were from the strongest guild in China. There was no one who could stop them if they wanted something. Not even otherworlders. They reached the top through strength. No one dared threaten them!
And yet, a mere captain from the municipal police, an A-rank hunter, dared to say such words.
"Hahaha!" Ye Zhentao burst into laughter.
The people behind him showed mocking expressions, and Li Zhanfeng, standing behind him, spoke.
"Captain Su, you’d better watch your mouth, or you will regret it. Don’t test our patience. Not only you, but your family might suffer as well."
His tone was mocking, but the threat behind it was real.
Su Wenxin felt a chill run through her heart. What Li Zhanfeng said was true. If Red Moon Guild chose to act, her family could be dragged into it. Not just her career, but her and her family’s lives could be placed in danger.
Still, she gritted her teeth. She could not back down.
Aldrian and his wives were a special case. They were not ordinary otherworlders, and if something truly happened, the ones in danger would not only be her or the Red Moon Guild.
It might be the entire world!
"I should be the one saying that, Li Zhanfeng. And I’m serious. They are special guests that no one is allowed to disturb, not even your guild." She spoke in a firm tone.
The group once again glanced at Aldrian and his wives. They could not help but be drawn to Sylphia, Baek Jimin, and Angelica’s beauty. Desire stirred within them.
But when their eyes fell on Aldrian’s face, they could not help but feel envy.
He was too handsome!
How could someone be this handsome?
Yet, they could not sense any aura from them, making it impossible to gauge their strength. They seemed no different from mortals without any power.
"Interesting... truly interesting," Ye Zhentao said after he stopped laughing. His gaze settled on Aldrian before shifting to Sylphia and the others. None of them paid any attention to the commotion, which bruised his pride.
It was as if his presence meant nothing to them.
Still, from the moment he saw Aldrian’s wives, he could not control the rhythm of his heartbeat.
They were exactly his type!
He wanted them!
"If you keep looking at my wives with those lustful eyes, I will make sure you will never see anything again."
Aldrian’s voice suddenly echoed.
