The Shining Star Above The Heaven
Chapter 1172: Warning
Aldrian’s voice suddenly echoed. His tone was calm, and he did not even turn to look at the Red Moon Guild members. He simply continued focusing on his meal.
Sylphia, Baek Jimin, and Angelica did the same, calmly enjoying their food. At times, they glanced at the scenery outside or spoke to each other, as if nothing had happened beside them.
The Red Moon Guild members were stunned, especially Ye Zhentao. Aldrian’s voice was calm yet firm. It was obvious he did not regard any of them at all.
Then, Ye Zhentao smirked.
’What an arrogant bastard,’ he thought.
’Should I just kill him right now? That would also deal with this bitch officer for daring to threaten me and the guild.’
"If you even dare to make a move against me, you will lose the limbs you use to attack me before you lose your life. That is my mercy to you."
Aldrian spoke again, stunning Ye Zhentao once more.
This time, irritation truly rose within him. It was no longer amusing. He had been repeatedly underestimated since he entered this restaurant. A mere captain dared to threaten him, and these otherworlders acted as if he did not exist, even after he released his aura.
Now, they even dared to threaten him with death?
The accumulated humiliation pushed him to the brink of rage. Just as he was about to act, Li Zhanfeng, standing behind him, spoke first with a furious expression.
"Know your place, otherworlder! You are on Earth, and you stand before one of the S-rank hunters of the Red Moon Guild! No matter who you are or what kind of status you have in your own world, you must show respect to—"
"S-rank? Do you think that’s something great enough to flaunt everywhere?"
Aldrian cut him off.
A vein bulged on Ye Zhentao’s forehead. The others’ expressions twisted in anger, and Su Wenxin fell into panic.
This had turned for the worse.
"Wait, Sir Aldrian—"
"Alright, I think we have truly disturbed our esteemed guests. My apologies for interrupting your time. You are right, an S-rank is not something worth flaunting."
Ye Zhentao spoke with a smile, which left Su Wenxin stunned.
Did Ye Zhentao just admit it like that?
Ye Zhentao glanced at Sylphia, Baek Jimin, and Angelica, who still did not spare him a single look. His heartbeat quickened, and the desire that had been building within him surged even further. He could not stop imagining those beauties in his embrace.
But then he turned his body as if he intended to leave.
Su Wenxin thought he might actually back down.
But then suddenly—
Whoosh!
"Like I would say something like that!" Ye Zhentao shouted with a crazed grin as he launched a surprise attack at Aldrian. His speed was terrifying, his palm already burning with flames intense enough to raise the temperature of the entire restaurant.
Su Wenxin was shocked by the sudden attack, but there was nothing she could do. An S-rank hunter’s strike was far too fast and powerful for her to stop.
The other Red Moon Guild members grinned. They believed the attack would land directly on Aldrian’s head and kill him instantly.
But then something unbelievable happened.
Before Ye Zhentao’s palm could reach Aldrian, it was suddenly severed. It flew to the side as if an invisible blade had sliced through it.
The flaming hand dropped to the floor.
It had happened so fast that Ye Zhentao had not even registered the pain.
Only when he saw his hand severed, blood gushing from the wound, did the pain finally reach him.
"Uwaaggh!"
Ye Zhentao clutched his severed arm as he stumbled backward.
The others who saw it were shocked. They had not seen anything at all. One moment his hand was there, and the next it was gone.
The blood that burst from his severed arm should have stained Aldrian and the table where he was dining with his wives. But strangely, it was as if an invisible barrier protected them. Not a single drop touched them, keeping Aldrian and the table completely clean despite the mess beside them.
"You bastard, what the fuck did you do?!" Li Zhanfeng shouted in fury, yet he did not dare move. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
A sudden fear rose within him. If even an S-rank could end up like this, then what about him?
The others felt the same.
Ye Zhentao, still enduring the pain, gritted his teeth and shouted at the others.
"What the fuck are you standing there for?! Attack him—"
Before he could finish, something suddenly stirred within his eyes.
Plop!
His eyes burst as if something inside had exploded. Blood streamed down from his eye sockets as he screamed once more.
"Aaaghhh!"
He tried to cover his eyes with his remaining hand, but then a sharp pain spread through his body. His skin slowly turned green as his body convulsed violently, foam spilling from his lips.
His voice came out choked as he collapsed onto the floor. His body continued to spasm for three seconds before going still.
Ye Zhentao’s heartbeat had already stopped.
He was dead.
"If you attack me, you will share the same fate as him. And be respectful toward my wives. My warning about the gaze applies to all of you as well."
Aldrian spoke to the remaining Red Moon Guild members.
He still did not look at them directly. Even at this moment, he calmly sliced another piece of meat.
Fear had already consumed the Red Moon Guild members. Their arrogant expressions were wiped away, replaced by nothing but fear. They did not dare to act, only shifting their gazes away or staring at Ye Zhentao’s corpse.
Su Wenxin, who witnessed everything, felt her heart tremble.
An S-rank hunter had just died like that. An S-rank from the Red Moon Guild.
’Shit, there is no turning back. This marks the beginning of conflict with the Red Moon Guild,’ she thought.
Although she did not care about Ye Zhentao’s death and even felt some satisfaction seeing him die, she knew the consequences of this incident were already set in motion. It would grow into something far larger. This was beyond her power to stop.
"Take your friend and scram. This is my warning to all of you, and to anyone who wants to test my patience."
Aldrian’s words finally pushed the Red Moon Guild members to move.
They quickly lifted Ye Zhentao’s corpse and even his severed hand before hurrying out of the restaurant. There were no angry words, no threats. They simply wanted to escape. Fear silenced them, leaving them with no choice but to obey.
Su Wenxin watched those arrogant hunters, who always acted without regard for anyone, now flee with their tails between their legs while carrying their dead companion.
Then her attention shifted to the restaurant staff.
They should have been shaken by the gruesome scene. Yet when she looked at them, she froze.
Their expressions were blank. They showed no reaction to their surroundings, standing still like statues.
It was as if they were under some kind of spell.
When she turned back to Aldrian, she was stunned once again.
The blood from Ye Zhentao’s severed hand had completely disappeared.
Even the area around Aldrian’s table had returned to how it was before the Red Moon Guild arrived, clean and orderly, without a single trace of what had just happened.
Her mind trembled.
What happened?
"Miss Su, you don’t have to worry about anyone here. I already placed all of them under an illusion. They did not see what I just did," Aldrian said.
Su Wenxin turned to look at Aldrian, who was now looking at her with a smile. This was the first time he had turned his head since the Red Moon Guild appeared.
Su Wenxin sighed. She did not know what she should do anymore. Her mind was in a mess, yet she still chose to return to her seat.
"Please don’t think about it too much, Miss Su. I will take responsibility for this incident. I will make sure you are not affected by it. You have my word. And you don’t have to worry about me putting Earth in danger. Why would I do that? If my problem is with the Red Moon Guild, then it is only with them," Aldrian said in a reassuring tone.
"Yes, Miss Su, please don’t worry. Just enjoy your time. It would be a shame to think about that unimportant group. Look, you still haven’t finished your food. It would be a shame not to finish such delicious food," Sylphia said with a smile.
Su Wenxin looked at her meal, a steak made from the meat of a monster from the gate, and sighed. Then she smiled and nodded.
"Alright," she said, before continuing to eat.
Aldrian and the others smiled at her, then continued eating. After a while, Aldrian released the illusion he had placed on everyone.
All of them were stunned, their expressions turning confused. They remembered the Red Moon Guild entering the restaurant and causing trouble.
But then... they could not remember anything after that.
The group was already gone without them knowing how. It was as if they had missed an entire event without even realizing it. Meanwhile, Aldrian’s group seemed to have been peacefully enjoying their meal the whole time.
The manager gathered his courage and asked Aldrian what had happened. Aldrian simply told him not to worry and not to think too much about it. Seeing that Aldrian had no intention of explaining, the manager could only give up and assume that the Red Moon Guild had left after causing trouble.
Aldrian and the others continued enjoying their time. After they finished their meal, they left the restaurant.
By the time they stepped outside, the sun had already moved toward the western horizon, signaling the sun set was approaching.
However, Aldrian and his wives had no intention of ending their stroll just yet.
There was still much of the city they wanted to see!
