This Journey to the West is so terrifying
Chapter 52 - 37 Well Dragon King
After all, people like him often have connections to some formidable figures, and therefore, this young master displayed an "I see" expression, seemingly showing Lin Fang his understanding.
Seeing this, Lin Fang slightly tugged at the corner of his mouth, certain that this fellow must have imagined many things.
However, it didn’t matter. As long as the fellow didn’t bother him, Lin Fang couldn’t be bothered to care, since he would eventually leave them without a trace to follow.
"Meeting is fate. In the future, if brother encounters any difficulties, feel free to visit my residence for assistance," said the noble young master with a smile, making a gesture of respect.
Lin Fang nodded with a smile, and they parted ways then and there.
Little Fox glanced at the man’s retreating figure and asked in slight confusion, "Why does it feel like his expressions changed so quickly?"
From the initial disdain to a warm demeanor, eventually turning to eager enthusiasm, the rapid change in expressions was astonishing.
"He probably mistook us for some very important figures," Lin Fang said with a laugh. Such people were common in the Mortal World, like chameleons, able to shift roles anytime, anywhere. Undeniably, it’s a capability in its own right.
This minor incident didn’t affect the spirits of Lin Fang and his companions in the least, as they began to explore the bustling Mortal World with three Little Demons.
Bashan Tiger and Yi Hailong were visiting such a place for the first time. Everything seemed novel to them, having no experience of the Mortal World, enthusiastically stuffing whatever they liked into their bosoms which led Little Fox to complain endlessly, constantly fixing their blunders.
Watching Little Fox endlessly scold the two foolish Little Demons, a smile appeared on Lin Fang’s face. He looked up, his eyes set on the majestic palace in the distance.
That was the Imperial Palace of the Wuji Kingdom, where the Green Lion Spirit, impersonating the King, currently resided. However, looking up, Lin Fang saw no traces of Demon Qi around it, as the Green Lion Spirit was also a mighty character who possessed Leakless capabilities.
With nightfall blanketing the earth, the Imperial Palace of Wuji Kingdom was already engulfed in silence. Even the Palace Attendants walked with great caution, as His Majesty had become increasingly temperamental over the past few years, often losing his temper over trivial matters. Without the intervention of the Empress, it was hard to say how many would have died unjustly.
The patrolling guards walked back and forth without noticing a dark figure passing by them.
This individual was handsome and seemed very young, dressed in luxurious brocade clothes, walking leisurely within the heavily guarded Imperial Palace, as if strolling in his own courtyard.
He did not head to the palace or the grand hall but went straight to the back garden—it was Lin Fang.
The Imperial Palace of the Wuji Kingdom wasn’t particularly large, and Lin Fang quickly found the place he was looking for—a giant banana tree, lush and flourishing with an obvious mound of earth beneath it. Heart filled with joy, Lin Fang murmured, "This is the spot."
With a shake, he transformed into an earthworm and burrowed into the ground. He soon encountered a rock and quietly used his Mana to drill through it, revealing a deep well right before his eyes.
Lin Fang fell into the well, restored his body, and formed the water avoidance art before heading downwards.
After a while, the space before him suddenly opened up, revealing an astonishingly spacious area. Looking into the distance, a splendid palace appeared ahead, with a plaque hanging overhead inscribed with the flowing characters: Crystal Palace.
As Lin Fang admired the Crystal Palace inside the well, a tortoise passed by. Seeing Lin Fang, it showed a surprised expression, then hurriedly pretended it saw nothing and tried to sneak away.
Lin Fang grabbed the tail of the tortoise, and the tortoise immediately spoke in human tongue, "Be careful with my tail!"
"What’s the matter? Not pretending anymore?"
"Who are you, mortal, to be so rude? I am the Prime Minister Turtle of this well, release your grip immediately!" the big turtle urgently shouted.
Only then did Lin Fang slowly release his grip. As soon as he let go, the turtle swiftly flew towards the Crystal Palace, not even turning its head back once.
Lin Fang followed closely behind, and before long, the turtle arrived at the front of the Crystal Palace, landed on the ground, and stood upright like a human. Then, from its shell, it even took out an official hat and solemnly placed it on its head.
"Such an impolite person you are. Wait till I go in and report you to the Dragon Lord. I will make sure you get what you deserve," Prime Minister Turtle said, touching his tail and grinding his teeth.
"No, wait, he is clearly from the outside world. How could he have entered here?" Prime Minister Turtle belatedly realized something was amiss.
The Dragon Lord had assigned him to guard the well entrance, and if it was ever opened, he was to report to the Dragon Lord. However, today he hadn’t seen the well opened, so where did this man come from?
"Prime Minister Turtle, are you done yet?" a voice with a slight hint of amusement came from nearby.
"Done, done, what’s the rush!" Prime Minister Turtle responded subconsciously, only to realize something was off after saying it, and with a fearful heart, he slowly turned his head around, only to see Lin Fang’s smiling face.
"Who exactly are you, and what are you doing here?" Prime Minister Turtle’s voice already slightly trembled.
Lin Fang just smiled lightly and said, "Nothing much, just that I heard the Dragon Palace is full of treasures. Being a Loose Cultivator with some financial troubles, I specifically came to ask the Old Dragon King for some relief."
Prime Minister Turtle’s eyes bulged, staring straight at Lin Fang, whose face was full of smiles, feeling as if ten thousand wild horses were stampeding through his heart.
"You, you, you," he stammered, unable to speak coherently.
"What are you standing there for, hmm? With such an esteemed guest arriving, shouldn’t you be announcing him?"
Upon hearing this, Prime Minister Turtle felt as if he had been granted amnesty, and quickly scrambled and rolled his way into the Crystal Palace.
The Well Dragon King, utterly bored, sat on his throne, playing with two glowing glass beads in his hands, and he sighed inwardly, "This sunless life, when will it ever end? I’ve been ordered to guard the mortal King’s body for almost three years now, and still no one has come to claim it."
Every time he thought of the demon covering his well’s entrance, the Well Dragon King couldn’t help but shudder—with such a formidable demon, he dared not provoke it; it was better to obediently follow the orders from above and wait for someone to come and rescue this deceased emperor.
Just then, however, he heard the sounds of Prime Minister Turtle, wailing as if in deep mourning, "My lord, it’s terrible, truly terrible."
Looking up, he saw Prime Minister Turtle hurriedly running in. As he was about to reach the hall, he stumbled and tumbled over, rolling all the way to the side of Well Dragon King’s table.
Raising his head, and before his vision could clear, he again anxiously shouted, "My lord, it’s terrible, a robber has come outside."
"A robber?" The Well Dragon King was instantly confused. What did he mean by a robber at the door?
"Exactly, there’s a man outside repeatedly asking for you to give him relief. If he’s not a robber, what is he?"
