This Journey to the West is so terrifying
Chapter 84 - 69 Changes
However, a scene that drove him to despair occurred, the sharp short dagger couldn’t even penetrate Lin Fang’s skin, as if there was a thin barrier covering his body.
With just a gentle wave of his hand, Scar-faced Tiger was already lying on the ground unconscious. Turning his head towards the panic-stricken Madam Witch, Lin Fang revealed what he considered to be an extremely amicable smile.
"Now it’s time to talk about the grievances between us," he said.
Madam Witch now wished she could kill Scar-faced Tiger herself; what kind of noble son was this? Clearly, it was a powerful being in disguise. Scar-faced Tiger was blind to mistake him for a dissolute young master.
"Senior, we failed to recognize your greatness. We hope for your magnanimity to pardon us this once," Madam Witch immediately softened and knelt on the ground, pleading.
Lin Fang sneered. These people always bullied the weak and feared the strong; if he truly had been someone easy to bully today, the outcome would have been very tragic. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Where did you get that Art of Curses from?" he asked.
Upon hearing this, Madam Witch felt a glimmer of hope and hurriedly took out an ancient tome from her bosom, its name already blurred. Lin Fang gently opened it and discovered that it contained secret techniques for the use of poison, Gu refining, and Art of Curses.
Laughing as he put the book into his bosom, he glanced at Madam Witch, who was secretly rejoicing, and Scar-faced Tiger, who was still unconscious. Lin Fang summoned the Glazed Glass Tower and with a thought, a tremendous suction force pulled the two into the tower. In no time, two figures appeared out of thin air in the bottom space of the tower.
For someone of their strength, there was no need for Lin Fang to call their names to capture them.
"Next, I should go and check out the situation in the ruins," Lin Fang murmured to himself with a smile, and before he left, he burned the cave to ashes with a cleansing fire.
Meanwhile, Madam Witch was staring blankly at the surrounding chaos, suddenly realizing that the person she had provoked seemed like an ascending immortal. Such methods were unheard of.
Looking up, she saw a huge sun floating in the sky, quite far from her, but still able to feel its terrifying heat.
"Where is this, the Underworld?" Scar-faced Tiger asked, touching his dizzy head.
He looked around, seeing only chaos everywhere, with only a fierce sun burning in the distance. Its scorching heat reached him, causing him to sweat profusely.
He looked at Madam Witch questioningly, hoping for an answer.
"I don’t know. That senior probably used a Magical Treasure to capture us. It must be a space inside his Treasure," she said with a slight hint of fear.
"Magical Treasure? Space?" Scar-faced Tiger’s mouth fell open, and he slapped himself hard several times across the face, blaming himself for his blindness in provoking the wrong person.
He also inwardly criticized the senior for enjoying the act of playing the pig to eat the tiger, disguising himself as a frivolous young master.
Little did he know, this was specially done by Lin Fang to avoid the pursuit of the Buddhist Sect.
As the two were conversing, their aura disturbed the Beast of Calamity that was in hibernation. It awoke from its slumber with a silent roar, charging in the direction of their scent.
When the fierce and dreadful Beast of Calamity, carrying an ominous aura, appeared before them, they didn’t hesitate and started to run aimlessly.
In this dark world, it seemed that direction had already lost its meaning, and the two could only choose a path at random. However, the Beast of Calamity behind them was getting faster and faster, their ominous presence as though whispering right beside one’s ear.
Just then, a swath of golden Buddha’s Light appeared before their eyes, kindling a sudden hope deep within their hearts. The two mustered all their strength and charged towards the source of the Buddha’s Light.
After they burst into the Buddha’s Light, bathed in its golden grace, they suddenly burst into tears, forgetting even the relentless Beast of Calamity that had been on their heels.
In that moment, they attained profound enlightenment, realizing that life was but a flick of a finger, and all desires were no more than illusory dreams.
Looking up, they saw a golden Buddha not far away, radiating brilliant Buddha’s Light. This light seemed to offer guidance, giving them a spiritual refuge for their souls.
"Praise to the Paper Buddha!" The two clasped their hands together and knelt down, praying fervently.
Within the golden radiance, a white paper figure, covered in mysterious Sanskrit, suddenly scratched its little bald head, then resumed its seated posture. Outside of the golden light, the Beast of Calamity, gazing upon the two whose hearts had been completely transformed, let out a reluctant roar, as if unwilling to let a meal slip away. But at that moment, the quietly burning sun suddenly released fearsome flames, blocking the beast’s advance and forcing it to retreat to its own territory to lurk once again.
As the Scar-faced Tiger and his companion converted, a pure stream of Power of Faith began to flow incessantly to the Paper figure in its first meditation, and a faint Buddha’s Light seemed to flash across the entire Glazed Glass Tower.
"Is that even possible?" Lin Fang muttered to himself, always feeling something was off with his paper figure, especially after it had swallowed that strange piece of Sanskrit, which had brought about incredible changes, eluding even Lin Fang himself.
Unexpectedly, this time, even two utterly wicked men had been brainwashed, completely becoming fanatical disciples of the paper figure, providing it with a continuous supply of the Power of Faith.
"Any like this in the future will just be given to the paper figure, to see what kind of changes will occur."
While he pondered, the ancient ruins were already in sight. Everyone was gathered around a huge lake, pointing and discussing, occasionally someone would burst out from the water with a Treasure in hand, making those around them green with envy.
Lin Fang had not expected the entrance to the ruins to be at the bottom of the lake. However, judging by the looks of those around, many had already entered the ruins.
"It’s said that the Qinglian Sword Sect has already gone in," someone mentioned in the crowd, their voice light yet clearly reaching everyone’s ears.
"If a Great Sect like Qinglian Sword Sect has entered, what chance do we individuals have?" someone shouted loudly.
After all, there were many Loose Cultivators in this place. And so, someone else spoke up, "If we don’t go in now, there won’t be even soup left for us. Those who want to wait can keep waiting; I shall take my leave first."
No sooner had the voice faded than a figure leaped into the water, disappearing without a trace.
One stone stirred a thousand ripples, and countless people jumped into the water like dumplings. People are sheep; seeing so many entering, they figured nothing adverse would happen to them, especially with a prestigious sect like Qinglian Sword Sect leading the way.
However, Lin Fang sharply observed that within the crowd, some individuals were wearing smug smiles, quietly concealing their forms.
"Interesting, seems like there’ll be quite a show inside these ruins," Lin Fang chuckled, his form vanishing in a flash as he turned into a carp and leaped into the lake, beginning his descent towards the lakebed.
The lake was deep, and Lin Fang swam for quite a while before reaching the bottom. On his way down, he saw numerous figures speeding downward, but none paid any mind to such a small fish.
