At that moment, Lin Kuang opened his eyes. Seeing the young man lying on the ground, he couldn’t help but smirk. Serves him right. Who told him to try and take advantage?

"Mingyue, let’s go," he said with a smile to Zhantai Mingyue. Over time, their relationship had grown much more relaxed, and even their way of addressing each other had changed.

"Okay, let’s go," Zhantai Mingyue replied, her adorable expression utterly captivating.

Lin Kuang smiled back and was about to lead her away.

Just then, however, the fallen man used a chair to pull himself to his feet. "Stop right there!" he bellowed, his face turning ashen, then purple with rage. "No one is leaving today!"

Hearing his shout, Zhantai Mingyue instinctively stopped.

"Let’s go. Just ignore him," Lin Kuang said, taking her by the wrist and pulling her along.

"Oh," Zhantai Mingyue agreed softly, letting him lead her away.

The young man was furious, but the searing pain in his groin kept him from making any sudden moves. He clutched himself with both hands. "You... just you wait!" he roared. "Neither of you is getting away today!" He then fumbled in his pocket for his phone and hastily dialed a number.

Lin Kuang paid the young man no mind. He had met nearly every person of consequence in Yanjing, and he didn’t recognize this man at all. The guy might be arrogant, but in Lin Kuang’s eyes, he was a nobody.

"Mingyue, is there anything else you need to buy?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile.

"Well, there’s... underwear," Zhantai Mingyue said, blushing and glaring at him irritably. "You ruined all of mine!"

"Ah, right. Okay, let’s go get some, then," Lin Kuang said awkwardly, leading her toward a lingerie store.

Upon entering the store, Zhantai Mingyue was immediately captivated by the vast assortment of lingerie. After all, a love for beautiful things is in a woman’s nature. A salesperson approached and began showing her different items. Zhantai Mingyue adored the undergarments but knew she couldn’t buy too many. After some thought, she picked out five sets. She left the store with a delighted smile.

Walking up beside Lin Kuang, she said, "Hey, Lin Kuang, thank you. I’ll pay you back."

"Mhm, and you’ll have to add interest," he teased.

"Oh? What’s interest?" Zhantai Mingyue asked, her large eyes wide with curiosity.

"Er..." Lin Kuang paused, taken aback. Looking at her completely clueless expression, he figured it was better not to explain. Even if he did, she probably wouldn’t understand.

With a sigh of resignation, Lin Kuang said, "It’s nothing, really. Do you need to buy anything else? If not, we can head home."

"No more shopping, but... can we just walk around a little longer? There’s nothing to do at home," she asked, pouting at him with a pitiful expression that was impossible to refuse.

Lin Kuang chuckled and nodded. "Alright then, let’s keep browsing." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Yay! Lin Kuang, you’re such a great guy!" Zhantai Mingyue exclaimed happily.

Her words caused Lin Kuang a flicker of exasperation. But then again, I really am a good person. There’s no doubt about it. he thought shamelessly.

The two continued to stroll through the mall and, by sheer coincidence, once again spotted the young man Zhantai Mingyue had taught a lesson to earlier. This time, he was surrounded by a large group of people dressed in security uniforms, who appeared to be the mall’s guards. Just as Lin Kuang saw them, the young man spotted Lin Kuang and Zhantai Mingyue.

"That’s them! It’s those two!" he yelled, his voice cracking with rage. "Get rid of the man and leave the woman for me!" Even now, he hadn’t forgotten his lecherous designs on Zhantai Mingyue.

"Yes, Young Master Guo," several guards responded hastily.

More than a dozen of them advanced on Lin Kuang, their eyes filled with pity. "You’re really asking for it, offending Young Master Guo," one of them sneered.

The young man was Guo Ziming, the sole son of the mall’s owner. While the Guo Family didn’t wield major political or military power, they were definitely a top-tier player in Yanjing’s business world.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang just gave a helpless smile. "Mingyue, you sit here and wait. I’ll go take care of them."

"No, let me go!" Zhantai Mingyue insisted, pouting. An angry glint appeared on her charming face. "These people are horrible. I want to teach them a lesson!"

Lin Kuang was stunned for a moment but then nodded. He knew these guards posed no threat to her, so there was no harm in letting her go.

"Alright, go ahead," Lin Kuang said, unable to resist adding a word of caution. "Just teach them a little lesson. Don’t hurt them too badly." After all, they were just employees doing their job; a light reprimand would suffice.

"Mhm, I know," she replied with a smile, handing her shopping bags to Lin Kuang. She then turned and walked confidently toward the guards.

Seeing this apparently helpless beauty approach, the security guards couldn’t help but gulp. It wasn’t that they had never seen beautiful women, but a beauty of Zhantai Mingyue’s caliber was a rare sight, one they might only glimpse once or twice a year.

"Leave with our Young Master Guo, and this whole thing can be over," one of the guards said. "Otherwise, you’ll have to suffer the consequences."

"Hmph! None of you are good people! You all deserve a beating!" Zhantai Mingyue retorted angrily.

With that, she charged forward, swinging her small fist toward one man’s chest. The guard couldn’t help but chuckle. With how delicate she looks, even if this punch lands, it probably won’t hurt at all. he thought smugly. But just as that thought crossed his mind, her fist slammed into his chest.

BANG!

The guard was sent flying four or five meters, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth as he landed flat on his back.

"Hmph! That’s what you get for underestimating me, you jerk!" she said indignantly, giving her small fist a little shake.

The other guards were completely dumbfounded. They had thought she was a helpless little lamb, but it turned out she was a big bad wolf!

While the guards stood frozen in shock, Zhantai Mingyue sprang into action with a flurry of kicks and punches. From where he stood, Lin Kuang heard a continuous stream of pained cries as the guards went down one after another.

In the blink of an eye, every guard Guo Ziming had brought over was lying on the floor, leaving only the two who were still propping him up.
