Chapter 1035: The Savior, The Usurper, and the Goddess of Death [II]

Bazel’s big hand immediately came down straight to us Almira immediately grabbed me and moved away from it, dodging the big hand completely. After she let me go, I released my wings and headed straight to the female body that seemed to inhabit the soul of the Goddess of Life. With the Devourer in its Magic Sword form, I activated the [Blazing Blade], the final upgrade to [Flaming Sword], and tried to slice it to pieces.

But the same barrier that seemed to block my attacks earlier stopped my attempts at slicing her to pieces. Even my flames seemed to be not penetrating the barrier at all and I was forced to retreat a bit but I didn’t stop and change the weapon form again into a Gauntlet and tried again.

"Ha! Just leave that pathetic attacks of yours off," the voice of the goddess of life laughed before the hand of Bazel appeared near me and immediately tried to flick me away. Seeing this as an opportunity, I quickly flew away from the flick and instead changed my weapon into the Hook and Chain.

Throwing the hook straight to the hands of Bazel, I then allowed myself to be pulled by it allowing me to attach myself to the hands. Without waiting for another attack to come, I changed the weapon into a long sword form and activated [Spinning Slash]. I made sure to target the fingers of the bastard and made sure to put all of my strength into doing it.

THUNK!

Although the fingers were hard, I realized that aside from its main body, it seemed I could hit his hands just fine so after learning this tidbit of info, I infused more strength to my attack and pushed my limit to spin the blade hard into the fingers.

"RAAAAAHHHHH!"

SWISH SWISH SWISH!

I didn’t do much but I managed to cut a single finger in that attempt. That one bit was really hard and it took my all to just cut a single finger. It was like I was trying to cut a very hard rock with a very dull blade. But one finger is gone and I like it that it is now gone. That alone allowed me to know that this Bazel guy is not omnipotent and his whole body is not fully blocked by the barrier that is stopping my attacks.

"Aaarrgghhh!" the voice of the Goddess of Life resounded in pain, as it tried to recover. It seems that she had fully fused with the body of Bazel and can now feel the pain inflicted on the body just fine.

"Manato! Here, I will share my senses with you, you will see the parts you can attack! After you successfully attacked Bazel, it seems those parts that I am seeing differently are parts that can be attacked normally for now! Focus on them! Don’t worry if you get damaged, I will be supporting you!"

After Almira said that, my eyesight suddenly changed views and I finally realized what Almira meant that she was seeing differently. Compared to most of its body which has the normal color that I was seeing, some parts of Bazel is currently are in color red. I am quite sure I haven’t seen them before but if it is indeed the same way that Almira suspects, then this alone is a good way for me to know how to attack this guy.

I returned to the hand that I "wounded" and started attacking the fingers once more. This time, the Goddess of Life groaned and angrily decided to retaliate.

"No, you won’t do it again the second time!"

All of a sudden countless spikes appeared on my hands, forcing me to stop my attempt of closing in. But that doesn’t mean I will change my attack target. Grabbing a bottle of Acidic Splash Bottle, one of the items my Mother made that was given to me earlier. I don’t know what it does but if it is acid, that must mean it must melt something or reduce its defenses or even soften it enough to stop it from being a bit tough to attack.

Throwing it straight into the surface of the thorny hands, I immediately saw the effects of the bottle as its contents spilled straight into the surface. Every thorn that previously appeared melted like they were burned. The surface of the body of the monster also starts to melt as well, but slowly stops after a while. I don’t know how that happened. But that alone is enough for me to see that I am dealing more than some damage.

With that damage alone, I started to bombard it with the Cannon shots as the Goddess of Life tried to attack me with her other hand. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Seeing how she immediately started to cover the other hand, I decided to retreat as the other hand is currently part of the invulnerable areas that cannot be attacked based on the vision of Almira.

Instead, I moved to the left foot of Bazel and changed my weapon into an Axe. I also started drafting some traps as well, trying to make use of the [Blueprint Materialization] ability of the Saboteur class. While I designed the trap, I started to "chop" the leg of the Bazel with all my strength. Chipping off, small parts slowly, but surely.

Sensing something on the leg, the Goddess of Life started to control the body once more and tried to kick me but I was quick at dodging them so it wasn’t that bad. Seeing how badly this battle turned out to be, it seems like the Goddess of Life is having trouble fighting using the body of Bazel. She is too slow to the point that her attacks are pathetic and although some of her attempts are something I keep on dodging, nothing much is memorable.

But I don’t want to just think this will be a joke of a fight. Seeing that I am not doing an HP battle and instead, was dishing out breakable parts, it must mean there is something that will happen if I destroy the breakable parts of Bazel’s body.

Instead of stopping, I continue to attack and dish out all of my abilities to the parts. Attacking once more, I finally finished the final part of the trap I made and immediately used the [Blueprint Materialization] and let the trap appear. A good chunk of my MP disappeared but I immediately refilled it with a potion so I wasn’t troubled.

As for the trap, the one that I made was a simple tripwire trap. It wasn’t a big thing but it was something that would allow the big guy to trip and fall over. Since it is big and slow, knocking it down is the best way to do it.

With the trap materialized, I then started to bombard the destructible feet with the cannon repeatedly and try to bait it from moving forward. And just the way I like it. The more simple a trap is, the more effective it is.

The Goddess of Life was really agitated that she tried to chase me as I was running away while also shooting her with the cannons.

"Get back here!"

As she tried to move forward, the tripwire served its purpose. Bazel’s foot tripped into the trap and with the chipped feet that I did earlier, one small gap and crack is enough to cause a bigger crack.

Not able to support the weight of Bazel, the crack appeared and immediately broke the feet to pieces. I was genuinely surprised that one trap was enough to destroy the feet to pieces. As a result, Bazel’s body fell down and the Goddess of Life started to seethe in anger as she saw how the body of the enemy was broken.

I also saw that her whole body and the whole body of Bazel started to become red as well in the eyes of Almira, allowing me to see that when knocked down, it is a free hit.

Almira seems to also read my mind and pump out a buff on me, allowing me to feel energized and strengthened. Feeling the surge, I changed the Devourer into a gun and started to release loads of bullets straight to the Goddess of Life.

"Eat lead and choke with it!"

The Goddess of Life is infuriated as I release countless bullets straight at her, without even trying hard. She starts to recover and tries to stand up but she is having a hard time even standing up. So I didn’t let it up.

As soon as I felt tired of the guns, I changed it to a gauntlet and started to hammer the Goddess of Life with multiple punches. I made sure to target her instead of the body of Bazel as she is the one who is controlling it.

"Don’t be so cocky, human!"

And before I knew it, the Goddess of Life ensnared me with chains made of light, similar to the one she used to almost kill me.
