It’s tighter than before. It is much like it was trying to break my bones and flesh this time around rather than bind me to stop me from moving. I tried to tug and break free but the more I try to move, the tighter it starts to be. Blood starts to seep out from my hands and feet and the incredulous pain starts to get bad.

"AAAAAAAGGGHHHHH!"

After Almira stops whatever her sister is trying to distract her with, she comes to the rescue and starts punching through the chains, breaking them to pieces. My heart nearly sank as I thought I would be killed in the process. I immediately grabbed a potion and started healing myself up.

We didn’t get any respite after that as the Goddess of Life started to fire multiple light blasts all over the place plus the occasional hand stomping and hand slap attacks of Bazel to come, I had to keep on dodging around and even fly away for a bit to avoid them completely. It seems that she has started to reach the second phase after beating her earlier. She is now trying to be merciless.

His attacks are hard to read but thanks to the vision of Almira who shared what she can see, I can finally get to dodge around from her attacks though I have to be quick about it. Not only did I find this very fast and hard, but I also had a hard time trying to attack her or even trying to attack Bazel’s body. Whenever I try to use a long-range attack, bow, gun, or cannonball, all of them get interrupted before I get to do anything.

Despite both losing the legs, her lunging attacks are starting to get annoying but this is also the only time I get to see a chance to attack her since most of the time, I will have to keep dodging the attacks and avoid getting blasted or caught from the popping chains here and there.

"Manato, take advantage of this shield. It can only last a few attacks but I can see you would have no problem with doing that. Take advantage of it and get close to her using it."

Almira casts a spell and she covered my body in a ball-shaped shield. If it can only last for several attacks, it is not a permanent shield but something I can only use to get close to Bazel’s body or perhaps head straight to the Goddess of Life and attack her directly. But right now, I have more grudge against the Goddess of Life than the body of Bazel for me to target it.

When the next wave of attacks started to pour out and fire in various areas, I started to move and dodge them. I have some close calls but I didn’t allow any attacks to even hit me. I even had to utilize my wings a few times to dodge completely to ensure the shield would remain intact.

Because the body of Bazel keeps on jumping around from time to time, I have to chase it down while dodging all of her attacks. It was like a bullet hell here except that I didn’t have any means to respond to her attacks.

But as soon as I got my distance close enough, I took this chance and dashed towards the Goddess of Life’s torso. A few attacks hit the shield successfully but that is inevitable to ensure I get near to her.

"GET OFF ME!"

She tried to blast me off with a few attacks but the shield stood strong. Although it starts to crack, it can still withstand a few attacks and that is good enough.

"I am not going to let go easily. I will have to end your tyranny and your rule here and now!"

Changing the Devourer’s form and channeling the power of Excalibur, I put all of my strength and immediately stabbed the Goddess of Life with it. I repeated doing it and it seems to be working well. Although it seems like she still followed the HP bar rules, it seems that my attacks are doing quite a lot of damage to her. She is screaming and already battering the shield I have and is ready to break it to pieces. I didn’t stop attacking and repeatedly stabbed her with the Excalibur I don’t know how long I have done it.

But that process soon ended when the shield broke. To avoid getting the attacks straight to me, I have to escape again. But this time around, the damage was so severe that the Goddess of Life started to berserk after getting into the pain of getting stabbed repeatedly.

Her screams start to get audibly loud and indescribable. It also starts getting annoying as well. But I am happy that she stopped attacking as well. I wanted to attack her again but Almira stopped me.

"Don’t come close. She is going to do something."

Hearing that, it seems that we are not yet done. She is still ready to fight. She is going to undergo the 3rd phase. The body of Bazel starts to crack and it seems to have slowly peeled away as soon as it gets into the nitty gritty. As for the mannequin-like body that the Goddess of Life inhabits, it seems to have suddenly gained features. Blue and red features seemed to appear on its body and soon removed herself from the body of Bazel. And just by looking at her, it seems she just consumed Bazel and decided to make use of what she consumed to become the one she wanted to become.

"It seems my sister has undergone a metamorphosis."

What Almira said is something I completely agree with this time. As soon as the body of Bazel breaks to pieces, the Goddess of Life appears again. This time, fully healed, wounds are gone and her body exudes a holy aura that any people who will see it will mistake it for something holy.

She started to walk slowly as the radiance in her body started to spread all over the place.

"I have completed everything, thanks to the effort of one human and my sister in the attempts of trying to kill me. As a result, it seems you all have made me stronger. I have been reborn, born anew with a new body and a new power to utilize the power of life."

"Manato, get ready. This will be the part where you will have a hard time. I don’t know the extent of my sister’s power now that she received it but I know you will prevail."

I read my Devourer and with hostility in my eyes, I leap straight to the Goddess of Life and try to cut her down.

But the attempt failed when she grabbed the Devourer with her bare hands and singlehandedly throw me away into the distance.

"I am the Savior of this world. You, Usurper, and the one who supports him, the Goddess of Death, I will now exact my judgment. All of you are not needed in the new world."
