Old Deus.

The term is tied with the old gods. They are the old gods that have been in this world before the world was fully developed and when the two goddesses were born, the old gods ascended to another realm, leaving behind the Tree of Life to signify their powers to the world and let it fuel the world even without their influence.

They are now observers from the sky and no one knows where they are. Only that, they are constantly watching the events happening in the world and will not intervene no matter what happens.

However...

For the first time after their ascension, they have descended to the world, returning once again to the world after the death of the Goddess of Life. Yes, I am currently witnessing the descent of the gods right now. The ones who claim to be the ones who shaped the world before the Goddess of Life gave birth to life and spread it all over.

"Why are all of the Old Deus suddenly descending from the sky?" Almira was stunned.

"Is this their first time descending and appearing to you?"

"Yes. I haven’t even seen them before in my entire life as a goddess back then. However, as one of the gods, my power is constantly telling me I should give respect to the old gods that once shaped the world. However, they always gave me and my sister guidance back when we were still young and inexperienced. We don’t just magically know what kind of things we can do without powers out of nowhere."

Their presence is very heavy. To the point that it felt really hard for me to breathe. But I managed to keep my cool as I looked at the higher beings floating above us.

The ones in the center, someone who I thought to be some kind of the leader out of all of them, looked at the dead body of the Goddess of Life, then at both of us. It took a bit of time until the guy pointed his hands at me.

"You...this is a violation of the laws of the world. You are too dangerous to be left alive. You will have to die."

Hearing that, I immediately ready myself to fight. I don’t know what this guy wanted, but I am not going to just let myself die without any sort of reason why I should die.

"Old Deus, I am the Goddess of Death and now also the Goddess of Life, may I ask what reason are you accusing him that is worthy of his death?" Almira immediately shielded me after hearing this.

"Child, the one you are protecting successfully killed a god. And that is not something that should be done. A god should never be killed by a human. Ever. And since gods can’t kill one another either, a human who is beneath the gods, shouldn’t be capable of killing a god. The human is a blasphemer, a rebel, and someone worthy to die for they have slayed the one who holds the power of life."

"Motherf*cking bastard, what kind of reasoning is that you are saying? That I shouldn’t kill someone who is threatening the world? You piece of crap...and you call yourself a god?"

"Heretic! You needed to die right here and now!"

The god fired off a ray of light to where I stood but Almira immediately stopped this by releasing a barrier that blocks the attack.

"I disagree with your choice of killing this human. And besides, I am the one who you should be punishing as I am the one who ordered this human to carry out the plan to kill my sister," Almira reasoned.

"A god can order those who are beneath them. They are tools of the gods and the ones who will proceed to finish the job that the gods cannot do. Once the deed is done, they need dispatching. Therefore, you are not going to be punished. This human is the only one worthy of being punished for killing a god."

I can’t believe this kind of bullshit is being told by this guy who was supposed to be some god. However, there is no such thing as this guy as an actual god. This guy is just someone who decided to come down to mess things up after seeing how I managed to kill a god. What a f*cking bullsh*t of a reason huh?

"Cath Palug. Hey, I knew you were in there," I called.

"Huh. So you still know that I am still here?" Cath Palug asked.

"I can tell. You just used an illusion to make me think you left but I can easily tell you are still there but I didn’t say anything."

"What, you want my help or something?"

"Something like that."

"Hmmm, depends on what it is. If fighting against the god you are facing right now is your reason for calling me, then no way in hell. I am not going to let myself die against something like that guy."

"I am not going to ask you to fight against that guy. It is not related to that."

"What?"

"Hey, Shadow Dragon, you know that you are listening, yes?" I looked at my Devourer.

"Sure."

"Puke up the Excalibur and the Rhongomyniad."

"Wait, what?" the Shadow Dragon seems shocked.

"Yeah, puke it out."

As if I made a command, the Devourer puked the two weapons out and the two weapons were now in shining glory.

"Cath Palug. Take these weapons back to Agartha. I know you know the way back there. Take it back and bring it back to two who are waiting for my return. Tell them I can’t return and meet them one last time."

"Wait, what are you saying?"

"Now, go. If you don’t want to die, then go and pick it up. I am not going to say it twice."

"What if I don’t bring it back to them?" he asked.

"Well, I made the wrong decision of trusting you then. But it doesn’t matter. Now, stop asking questions and just go."

As the Old Deus was once again trying to cast another spell, Cath Palug immediately took the two weapons, put them on his back, and jumped down from the platform, Even Almira was surprised at what I did.

"Why did you relinquish the weapons that can kill gods?" Almira asked.

"If I am just going to die here, then I don’t need to use god-slaying weapons to kill a god. I will just kill them with whatever weapon I can use instead and besides, the worlds needed those weapons. I am not worthy of wielding both of them. Therefore, I will be fighting the Old Deus. Almira, I know you are also a god but if you decide to agree, then I will also fight against you. I will not allow anyone to control my fate."

Almira smiled at me. "Ha, as if. We are comrades in arms. If you decide to fight, then I will fight as well. You will never fight alone."

The Old Deus seems pissed by what Almira said and shook his head.

"Disappointing. However, if you two are just that willing to die, then perhaps you two will approve to die together."

In a snap, the stairs that connect the Tree of Life and this platform collapse. The place that we are standing in is also rising in the air as well.

"Manato, it seems your way back to the human world is now destroyed. What are you going to do now?" Almira asked as she assumed a battle stance.

"What else? Reject another god of course. After all, the battle never ends," I also assumed a battle stance.

"Foolish human and foolish god, I didn’t expect to see this in tandem. But, seeing that you lot are this eager to meet your end, then we gods will provide you the death you all wanted." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Yes, that is right. The final battle was a literal final battle. This battle will be the only battle that I will not be coming home. Forgive me, Mom and Dad. But I don’t think I will make it back. Perhaps it is my punishment for so long. For returning back and forth to multiple timelines and messing up with it. But I don’t care anymore. If this battle of mine will save the world, then perhaps it is destined to be one.

I am not a hero. I am not the savior, and I am not the one who will save everyone from disaster. I am just a regular person. But...I will not tolerate anyone who will try to destroy the world. Even if you are a higher being or whatever, I will do whatever it takes to take you down, even if it costs me my life.

I am Manato Tsukasa. Even if my end is vague for the people I love, I will make sure that no one will suffer the same fate as me. For they deserve to live.

The incident of the two worlds colliding became a hot topic for the whole world. Many of the people who thought the world was ending celebrated but those dreams of them were immediately shattered when multiple people were seen climbing down the giant tree that appeared one day. News were written due to them and their revelations made more sense to the situation and to what happened.

The world soon knew that these people were the ones who tried to save the world from being destroyed by confronting the one who made all of these disasters happen. They also explained that the planet that collided with Earth was the world where the game called Alternate World once took place. But it was soon revealed that the Alternate World was just another reality that was being accessed by the Reality Verse that was created by the Nexus Company and plastered as something of a game. It turns out, the place was real and they just experienced what most people on the internet called "Isekai".

Many tried asking as to why the collision of the two worlds happened and only one thing was given.

"To save the world."

There is no context given but it was soon made apparent, that if not for this incident, the world would have suffered much more destruction than just this.

It took a few months before the world soon decided to just take advantage of this. Due to the intersection that happened between the two worlds, the two worlds have become one and this resulted in people migrating to both worlds. Many soon embraced the other world as quickly as they could. Adventurer also became a normal job as now, every human including those who have not used the Reality Verse gained the ability to use magic. Things changed quickly.

The people who have been ostracised back in the Alternate World for being different were accepted positively on Earth, and culture from Earth is also being explored in the Alternate World.

Many things have changed and many things have been done. However, one thing is clear. If not for the sacrifice of one person and one god, things wouldn’t have happened and no one would be alive to tell the tale. And so, a new beginning starts the moment a story ends.
