Villain Extra: Rogue Reader
Chapter 32: Bottles
As Jeanette unleashed a blaze at the palm of her hand, Ray actually felt a sense of coldness.
Yes, coldness rather than heat.
’Is this the legendary hot and cold?’ Ray raised an eyebrow and wondered.
Since the majority of the members in the Carrion Household were eliminated almost instantaneously by the protagonist. He never truly got a chance to understand their abilities.
The only thing he knew was that Chloe was a strong character, which was kind of a big pity.
He actually liked her character introduction. But before he could get much attached, she was defeated and succumbed to her wounds.
As for Jeanette, his memory was fuzzy, and he couldn’t recall what her fate was.
"I guess you can stay here as well." He said in annoyance.
Without any information, rashly making a move would soon come back to bite him.
He wasn’t the protagonist.
He didn’t have the protagonist halo or plot armor where everything would work out in the end.
Hell, he had actually pissed off the author!
So in any case, he was destined to die 10 times out of 10 if he made one wrong move.
’Fuck, others get to transmigrate or wake up as the hero or as the protagonist. Why am I stuck as an extra who needs to worry for his life?’ Ray cursed silently.
The extra life was equivalent to cannon fodder life.
Whether you existed or not didn’t matter to the storyline.
But one thing was positive. You could lose your life, and nobody would care or notice it.
BOOM!
Right at this moment, a loud explosion occurred nearby.
"Okay, I know this is a magical world. But seriously?" Ray raised an eyebrow.
"How are regular humans supposed to live with this constant loud explosion happening daily? Is there even a noise complaint filing office available?"
"What is a noise complaint filing office?" Jeanette tilted her head.
She was confused by the terminology he was using.
Was there even such an office in existence?
"What’s the situation?" Ray pinched his nose and asked the approaching guard.
Just how many more headaches was he going to get?
"Some monsters who had been repelled suddenly returned, with some even self-detonating on the spot. Lady Chloe is already on the battlefield and told us to evacuate." The guard saluted and reported the situation.
’Hah...’ Ray exhaled softly. With this incident, it was basically confirmed that a buffoon was behind the scenes, and their goal was to eliminate them.
The monsters suddenly returned to the crime scene?
What kind of monster does that unless they were being controlled by someone else?
"Do we send more people to help out Lady Chloe?" The guard suddenly inquired. Although the command was to evacuate, the guard thought Ray should assist Chloe.
After all, the monster numbered in the three digits.
No matter how strong an individual was, there was a limitation to one’s mana to endure for so long.
"If you want to die, then go and help her," Ray said in a deadpan tone. "Since Chloe told us to evacuate, we might as well follow through with her words."
The crowd turned silent.
More specifically, both Jeanette and Jake were staring at him in disbelief.
They had to perk their ears up and wondered if they had heard things wrong.
"Perk your ears up again, and I’ll send you back home for treatment in the hearing aid." Ray snorted coldly when he saw their behavior.
"Tell the rest to continue what they’re doing and a mini team to secure the perimeter. I don’t care who it is, but no one is allowed to leave or enter without my explicit permission. Remember, no one means no one. Is that clear?"
"Yes, Young Master!" The guard could only salute and accept the order.
Once the guard left to relay the instruction, Ray turned to Jeanette.
"You like playing with fire, right? Create a firewall to defend the perimeter."
"You want me to use a firewall? For how long?"
"Obviously as long as possible. But if you’re trash like Jake over here, then forget it. I’ll find someone else to do the task."
"..."
Jeanette clenched her fist tightly. If it weren’t for the fact that he was protected by the Lord, aka her Father, then she would really wish to burn him to a crisp.
’Hold it in, Jeanette. This bastard is the commander.’ She calmed herself.
"I can only keep it for about half an hour," Jeanette explained. Her mana reserve wasn’t considered low, but it would still drain her a lot.
After all, she highly doubted the firewall she cast would be for a small radius.
And she would be correct.
"You, over there!" Ray pointed at a nearby guard and shouted. "Bring over the box labeled Mana For Dummy here. Have Jeanette chug them down every time her mana is about to run dry."
"Which box?" The guard scratched their head in confusion.
Given that there were a lot of boxes brought over here supposedly for relief, it was hard to find them in such a time crunch.
"Useless!" Ray rolled his eyes and called for Skyler.
"Skyler, you bring it!"
"Yes, Master!"
Skyler quickly tossed his ongoing task to his twin and rushed toward the carriage.
Soon, the box was brought over, and Jeanette nearly had a crash.
There were a whopping 20-something mana potions, each one being at least 0.79 liquid gallons in size.
"What are you standing in a daze for? This size is similar to soda."
Ray used to have such large bottles of soda for his daily caffeine intake.
Coffee was too bitter for him, and tea took too long to cool down from the boiling hot water that was required to brew.
Only soda was superior!
The sizzling sound of carbohydrates and the coolness of quenching one’s thirst.
Jeanette held a disgusted look on her face as she gestured to the guard to carry the box. She then extended her palm and cast a large fire wall. The temperature nearby quickly rose and threatened to burn anything that dared to approach it.
’As expected, magic spells are relevant to the caster’s emotional mood.’ He purposely irritated her to ensure the spell was cast at its peak.
