VRMMORPG: The Endless Evolution of a Goblin Through Countless Classes
Chapter 40: Dawnreach City, Skyline City, Zenith City , Apex City, Titan City
One day later, in a room at SIS Corporation, Vyral sat in a chair, tapping his foot nervously. At the moment, Polly was going through the formalities for his release, and Doran was handling everything personally. Soon, they would come here to meet him once it was all finished.
However, his emotions were a mess.
On one hand, he wanted to see Polly because he was genuinely worried about him.
On the other hand, he wanted to avoid him because of the feelings stirring inside him. It was strange and complicated – something he had never experienced in his life.
In his former world, he had been an orphan. He had never had any blood relatives. And now, for the first time, he was experiencing these emotions.
’’Ah! Finally.’’ Doran cracked his neck as he entered the room.
Following Doran was an old man with countless wrinkles on his face. He had cleaned himself up, leaving not a trace of grime on his body. His clothes had been changed into a well-fitted, clean butler’s outfit.
At this moment, Doran looked like an elderly butler serving a wealthy family rather than a dirty scavenger.
His eyes no longer carried the foolishness they once had. Now, he was entirely a gentle old man with the demeanor of a higher-class gentleman.
Polly bowed his head before Doran.
’’I’m deeply grateful for saving me. And for giving me a place in your family.’’
Then, his eyes fell on Vyral, who was sitting nearby. He blinked for a moment, intending to bow his head and greet him. He assumed Vyral was one of the powerful children of corporations like Doran.
’’Sir—’’
Of course, Vyral didn’t let Polly do that. He quickly stood up, hurried over, and stopped him.
Their eyes met for a moment. It seemed Polly had noticed something familiar about Vyral.
’’Vyral?’’ he stammered in disbelief. His eyes were filled with uncertainty, but this similarity couldn’t be wrong, especially those sapphire-blue eyes. But how? Vyral should’ve been a dirty, short, and thin boy.
How could such a change happen in such a short time?
Vyral looked at Polly’s confused face and forced himself to smile. He gently pulled him into a warm hug.
’’It’s me. Vyral Carlson.’’
Vyral’s eyes began to turn red and wet. The feelings truly came from the bottom of his heart this time. He spoke in a calm voice.
’’Thank you for surviving.’’
Nearby, Doran rubbed his eyelids several times before opening his eyes again. He had never thought Vyral was capable of such emotions.
’’I thought you were an emotionless monster, but it seems you’re not.’’ He smiled quietly before leaving the room. After all, he didn’t want to interrupt their emotional reunion.
After that, they had a long discussion throughout the night. Of course, it included their plans for the future, as Polly decided to serve Doran’s family as a butler.
Vyral didn’t refuse. In fact, he welcomed it. He could no longer think of a safer place for Polly. After all, Polly could no longer log into the game, meaning his journey of evolution had come to an end.
Although his lifespan only had 30 to 40 years remaining, he accepted it as a natural part of life, choosing instead to enjoy his old age.
His sole wish before dying was to see Vyral living a good life, with a wife and lots of children.
’’I want great-grandchildren.’’ Polly smiled.
Vyral just sighed. He didn’t know what his future held, but it was also one of his wishes. Nah, actually, it was a wish that almost every man had, even Vyral, who had lived a rather miserable life.
From an orphan (0–13), to a bullied student (13–18), to an aimless university student obsessed with gaming (18–22), to a lowly employee trapped in a ruthless corporate system (22–26), and finally dying in a ridiculous traffic accident.
If his life were a novel, he wanted it to have a good ending.
’’I hope so.’’
The next few days, Vyral spent his time studying in the classroom in the real world, he tried to learn tricks from the professors in the game, along with precious knowledge that a scavenger could never have accessed before.
After class was over, he returned to his room and chatted with Doran through JPhone. Eventually, the fat man invited him to go sightseeing in other cities.
Skyline City
Zenith City
Apex City
Titan City
Vyral realized it was a great opportunity to broaden his horizons and learn more about this world, so he agreed instantly.
As he had thought, this world only had five cities scattered across the planet, but they were anything but small. Each city was the size of a miniature nation, let alone the level of modern technology they possessed.
Beside, each city housed one to four corporations. Doran also told him their names and specialties. They had maintained ties with one another for over 500 years, so Doran spoke about them as if he knew them like the back of his hand.
After one week for holidays, Vyral finally logged in the game.

He was actually very happy after seeing the fruits of his clones’ labor and the Earrings of the Moon.
’’Maybe I’ve been a little too harsh on my clones.’’
Vyral smirked as he instantly upgraded the evolutions on the list. Obviously, he prioritized the skills that would benefit his future the most, based on their potential.
