Chapter 387: Ch 387: The Extreme (3)

Ling Xiaolong used to be a Primordial Being.

In fact, he was a human at first, but obtained Primordial Origin Body, Primordial Origin Bloodline, and Primordial Origin Soul from the Tree of Chaos (the guardian of Cosmic Field called Chaos), and transformed into a Primordial Being.

However, it was after witnessing the birth of the first life in Eternity that he understood that he was far from becoming a true Primordial. There were still differences between him and the true Primordial Creatures.

Slowly, one after another, countless Primordial Beings were born. They together formed a race; the Primordial Race.

After the primordial race, several other races were born, including the Spiritas Race.

Following that, the flow of creation continued like an unstoppable tide.

Countless other races were born in Eternity, one after another. Some races were strong and some were weak. Some were short-lived, and some still existed. But all of them were born within the framework laid down by the Absolute Rules and the foundations of the Vast Expanses of Eternity.

Among the earliest races after Spirits were the Voidborn, beings who could manipulate the empty spaces between existence. The Lumenkind, creatures born from pure light and law. The Shadowkin, born from darkness and chaos, and more.

Each race inherited a part of the Absolute Rules either directly or indirectly. However, none could control the Nine Absolute Rules in their entirety. Even the Primordial Race could only touch the surface of these supreme laws by birth. If they want to control, they must first comprehend these rules.

Ling Xiaolong silently watched all of it unfold like a reader flipping through the pages of an infinite book.

He did not interfere. He merely observed.

He saw the rise and fall of civilizations. He watched empires stretch across countless lands, only to crumble into ash. He witnessed wars between races, stars dying, and universes being consumed by corruption.

During all this time, although he never directly interfered in the matters of Eternity, he did extract a trace of his own essence blood to give birth to an incarnation. These incarnations did not possess Ling Xiaolong’s memories, but they did receive his hidden support from the shadows. Sooner or later in their life, they rose in power and held incredible authority.

However, not all of them were worthy enough to get Ling Xiaolong’s attention.

Ling Xiaolong sought to achieve something through his incarnations, but all of them ultimately failed. However, a few still managed to catch his attention. Among them was Lu Moyu, one of his incarnations, who stood out by successfully passing all the trials set by Lin Hao, the Temporal Emperor. Later, Ling Xiaolong personally intervened to save Lu Moyu from death under the Nine Heavens’ Tribulation. But it was at that moment that he sensed Lu Moyu’s fate suddenly turning dark. Not long after, he witnessed Lu Moyu abandon his humanity and transform into an abyssal creature.

Before long, Lu Moyu became a threat to all the Cosmic Fields in eternity. So, Ling Xiaolong captured Lu Moyu, destroyed his body, and imprisoned his soul.

Eras passed, and soon, Ling Xiaolong seemed to sense something. He let out a loud laugh and turned to look at Lu Moyu’s imprisoned soul before speaking: ’The time has come. I believe I can now create an extraordinary being, one who can rise to the level I desire. The game is officially on, and he shall be my player. As for you, you’ll become one of the props I’ll give him at the start.’

Following that, Ling Xiaolong waved his hand and captured something that was floating endlessly in Eternity. It was a multicolored orb, the Soulforge Prism Orb.

Shua~

Huff! Huff! Huff!

Emrys suddenly opened his eyes and gasped for breath as if he had just emerged from drowning in an ocean too vast to grasp. Sweat poured down his face, and his heart pounded wildly in his chest. His pupils trembled with confusion, awe, and an emotion he couldn’t quite name. He stared blankly at the space in front of him.

There used to be a chained book floating, but now, there was no book. The chained book that had hovered there earlier had vanished completely, as if it had never existed in the first place.

Yet, Emrys vividly remembered everything he had just witnessed. It wasn’t like reading or watching; it felt as if he lived Ling Xiaolong’s journey. The endless silence of nothingness, the awe-inspiring rise of creation, the chaotic birth of races, the terrifying might of primordial beings... and above all, the weight of being everything and nothing at once.

It was all an Extreme that Emrys witnessed.

Moreover, he remembered Ling Xiaolong’s face. He had never seen Ling Xiaolong’s face. Whenever Ling Xiaolong appeared, he was always shrouded in golden light, and his features were impossible to see. But now, Emrys could not forget that ancient, serene, and immeasurable face at all.

So, this is what Ling Xiaolong truly looks like.

Emrys clutched his chest unconsciously. His body felt fine, but his soul quivered.

His mind struggled to comprehend the scale of what he had witnessed. He wasn’t just shown a story. He had witnessed the prelude to all existence. He had witnessed the moment before the beginning, and the ongoing creation as well as destruction.

Although he already knew, it still felt very strange to be the next piece in someone’s grand design.

A player in a game, with many props at the beginning.

He is indeed someone like this.

"What exactly do you want from me?" Emrys could not help but raise his head and ask. He seemed to be asking someone who was not present there. Or perhaps, he was watching his every move.

Unfortunately, no answer was given.

Taking a deep breath, Emrys recalled all the scenes he had just witnessed and slowly entered a state of enlightenment. Even he didn’t know how, but the power of Timeless Enlightenment was stirred within him, pulling him into a deep state of comprehension. In this mysterious state, he began to comprehend something unknown, and at the heart of it all was the Extreme he had just witnessed.
