What Do You Mean I Have Nine Wives?
Chapter 100: Chaotic Family
Somewhere in the Immortal Realm.
"Ahhhhh! You bastard, Richard.....It hurts so much."
"Ahhhh! Why did you make me go through this again?"
A beautiful woman with silver hair, lying on the bed, started screaming. Her hand was held by a tall man with black hair, extremely similar to Tyler.
Soon, her cries slowly died down, followed by soft crying.
"Waaaaa!"
"Congratulations, Richard! It’s a daughter!"
A midwife held a soft baby in her hand and walked towards Richard.
At this moment, Richard’s body was shaking at the sight of his daughter.
He didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry.
"Th—thank you, Becky!"
He thanked the midwife while taking the baby in his arms. Becky nodded and left the room.
He looked at his daughter. She was wrapped in a soft towel.
He brought the baby closer to the mother, who was resting on the bed.
"Maria, look! Her eyes are just like you."
Richard nervously sat next to his wife and brought his daughter closer.
"Yes, my baby girl! Give her to me!"
Maria’s previous pain disappeared at the sight of her daughter. Looking at a new life in front of her, she felt all that pain was worth it.
Then, she noticed Richard’s hands were still shaking. She placed her daughter in one arm, then held her husband’s hand with the other.
"Don’t worry, I’m fine, and our daughter is fine as well!"
"Sorry, Maria! I can’t control them."
Richard’s eyes turned red as he closed them, but his hands kept shaking.
Maria softly spoke.
"It’s not your fault. You don’t have to blame yourself for that. It was a coincidence. We didn’t think it through when we did that."
"But, if something happens to you, how can I show my face to our son?"
Richard was a tough man. He had never lost his confidence in his life.
But these few days, he felt like walking on top of nails in a burning pit of oil.
"Nothing happened! I’m safe. Our daughter is safe. When Tyler comes to us, won’t he be happy to see a little sister?"
"Besides, with my Hourglass Creation Technique and your True Freedom Technique, do you think a heavenly tribulation can kill me?"
"Even if I let it strike during my pregnancy, nothing will happen to me!"
Seeing her husband so insecure, Maria tried to act tough.
Her act, though cute, did make Richard’s shaking stop. But his heartbeat barely slowed down.
"A son and a daughter! Our family is complete, Maria. Let’s not take any more risks."
Richard sighed softly.
Hearing that, Maria’s anger flared.
"Of course, I don’t want. Do you think I want to go through this pain again and again? Do you know how much it hurts every single time?"
Richard turned his head away, whistling.
"Waaa!"
Suddenly, the little girl started crying once again. So, Maria began breastfeeding her while looking at Richard.
"Humph! If you want to complete the family so much, why don’t you just bring Tyler with us? Do you think I can’t even take care of my son?"
’She is angry. I shouldn’t have talked about that.’
Richard realized his wife was truly angry. If he couldn’t convince her, he was going to get a lot of beating.
So, he immediately began to convince her with a fawning expression.
"Dear wife, don’t you want our son to surpass us? Think about it for a moment, why did that tower appear in our son but that tower couldn’t do anything to him?"
"It’s clearly a work of ours. Most of it is yours, but it must’ve been my plan. Although I can’t guess his exact plan, if he is my future self, his goal is simply to improve Tyler’s strength."
"So, why do you think he came up with this idea?"
Hearing that, Maria snorted.
"Isn’t it because of that ridiculous statement, ’With your parents sacrificed, your mana is boundless’?"
Richard’s expression froze, and his entire face turned red.
"It’s a joke. It was just a joke."
"Pfft!"
Seeing her husband’s expression like a boiled lobster, Maria chuckled and said.
"I know. It’s just fun to tease you with your own references."
"I must’ve been an idiot to use those references as pickup lines."
Richard muttered.
"Otherwise, what kind of idiot confesses his biggest secret as a transmigrator to his wife?"
Maria gave him a speechless look and asked.
Richard angrily asked.
"Then, what kind of person tells others about their time travel?"
"Isn’t it normal?"
Maria gave him a blank look and asked.
"Of course not! You should’ve used the memories of the future to get ahead of others. That’s what smart people do."
Richard replied.
Maria chuckled.
"If I had done that, would we still be together?"
Richard shook his head.
Maria’s face turned pale as she asked.
"But are you really sure it is a work of our future-self? That’s a Dual Cultivation Tower. Our son has no connection with the Dual Cultivation Tower?"
"Why would we do this? And can we really get strong enough to influence the past with the present?"
"Won’t this create a paradox?"
Hearing his wife’s concern, Richard shook his head.
"In the first timeline, you were alone. You reached the peak of the Spirit Realm and managed to travel back in time due to the specialness of your technique."
"But this created a second timeline where I transmigrated into this world from my previous world."
"Because of this, you have already changed the future. Since the world didn’t get destroyed, it means your technique is more powerful than you can imagine."
"This also explains why you were able to exert your strength from the future to put that tower into our son in the past."
"Don’t forget my True Freedom Technique. It allows me to do almost everything. With the power of rules, I am only starting to use ten percent of its potential."
"I must have gone through many things, improving our strength to a level where it has already surpassed our current expectations."
Hearing that, Maria released a deep breath and looked into her husband’s eyes.
"What are you exactly hiding from me? When you went to check that tower, what exactly did you find? What are you so confident about?"
Richard sighed.
"I didn’t want to tell you since this might look a bit evil. Our future selves have placed a restriction in the tower."
"A restriction?"
Richard’s face looked a bit melancholy as he nodded.
"If any of those women try to leave the tower with the intention of harming Tyler, their souls will be destroyed and used to improve Tyler’s soul."
Maria’s face turned pale when she heard that.
"But...those women....."
Richard nodded.
"Yes, even though those women are at the peak of the universe, it’s exactly as I suspected."
"Our future selves have surpassed the power of this universe. But there must be even bigger trouble in the future."
"It must be related to the True Lord of Immemorial Paragon Tower’s death. Although that tower is mainly about dual cultivation, do you remember the first reward of its first floor?"
Maria nodded.
Richard continued.
"I was only able to check the first floor at that time. The Primordial Chaos Water has the potential to evolve one’s technique."
"I’m pretty sure I used this to improve our technique in the future, but I didn’t get it from Tyler; instead, I should’ve gotten it from other parts of the universe."
"But by then, most of our potential will be lost. But what if our techniques evolve from the very beginning?"
Hearing that, Maria looked at her husband with some heartache.
"So, you have been carrying this burden all alone?"
"Dear, a short-time parting is better than long-time parting. Tyler isn’t just our son. He is also a transmigrator. He can handle this much loneliness."
"But if I let my son face every trouble in the future by himself, what kind of man or a father or a transmigrator will I be?"
"He has his adventures; we have ours."
Hearing that, Maria sighed and nodded.
"We mustn’t pass down all of our burden to our son. But I’m curious. How do you know about that restriction? Don’t tell me my future-self told you?"
Richard shook his head.
"It’s Miko the Great Sealer. She is the only being in the tower who felt that restriction. Not even the tower felt it."
"So, she talked to me about this. She promised to hide this restriction from others so nobody will harbor any ill intent towards Tyler."
Hearing that, Maria got worried.
"But what if she doesn’t keep her promise? Are we just going to let a bunch of vipers around our son?"
"She will."
"Why are you so confident?"
"Because she has been waiting for her destiny. She is a believer of destiny, Maria. She will do anything to keep her destiny safe."
At this moment, unknown to the two of them, the baby was silently drinking her mother’s milk while thinking.
’Wait a minute! So, my mother is a time traveler. My father and brother had their souls transmigrated to this world.’
’And I, the Princess of Hell, was reborn as a baby?’
’What kind of chaotic family is this?’
