Chapter 137: Introducing My ’Girlfriend’

With Ava joining in, we went towards the location that Rachel had planned for us to take our lunch.

The place was quite a distance away so we ended up taking a Tuk-Tuk there, our group having to split between two vehicles with Amanda riding with me and Ava.

Rachel helped us negotiate the price with the drivers in fluent Thai though ironically, Ava would be able to speak to them anyway thanks to the fact that she’s an other worlder.

Amanda sat on my lap as the three wheeled vehicle sped through the streets of Chiang Mai.

The girl was looking up at Ava who was squeezed beside me, the poor elf needing to tuck her knees against her chest just to be able to fit inside the vehicle. Her hat wasn’t helping as it basically took up half of the space inside the vehicle.

But if she was bothered by it, she did not show it.

Ava noticed the girl’s gaze and turned to smile at her, "Yes, little one?"

Amanda tilted her head at her, "Tall lady?"

She phrased it as a question, so she’s most likely asking why she was so tall.

Ava giggled, "Ufufufu~ I am tall as compared to you, little one~"

I patted Amanda on the head, "Don’t be rude, Amanda."

She turned to me, "Is she your girlfriend, Uncle Qing?"

Ava answered her before I could, "Fufufu~ Yes I am~"

To prove her point, she wrapped her arm around mine and leaned herself against me, pushing her chest to press on my arm.

I noticed the driver looking back at us for a moment using the rearview mirror, probably wondering how the exceptionally tall woman behind could also speak Thai fluently before looking back at the road.

Of course, she wasn’t speaking Thai but her own language, just that the other worlder effect was making it sound like she was speaking a language they understood.

Amanda looked up at her and pouted, "Uncle Qing never told us about you..."

"Ufufufu~ We only recently met so that’s to be expected after all~ You can ask me anything~"

"Muuu... Do you know anything about Uncle Qing at all?"

"Of course, I know that your uncle is a kind and especially handsome man. He is especially nice to the people that is close to him~"

"He buys us sweets!"

"Oh? Then perhaps I should remember to buy you and your sister some sweets the next time I visit~"

Amanda’s face immediately lit up and she nodded excitedly, "Yay! Sweets!"

I tapped her on the head lightly, "Don’t be greedy now... Your mom will definitely scold you if she knows about this."

She gave me an innocent look, "Uncle Qing won’t tell mommy, right? You like us too much!"

"Since when were you so naughty?"

She stuck her tongue at me and gave me a cutesy wink.

The ride there took about five minutes and we stopped outside what looked like a particularly old building judging by the entrance way that was marked by wooden posts with vegetation decorating the roof.

Behind it, the building had multiple layers of sloped roofs to form a multi-layer triangular roof which had the same aesthetics as the older traditional buildings that could be found here.

If I’m not wrong, this place was a cafe that served a mix of thai and western cuisine and there was also a massage parlour attached at the back.

Dan’s Tuk-Tuk had reached before us so the three of them were already waiting for us at the entrance of the establishment.

"Over here!" Dan waved, prompting us to go over to them after I paid the driver the fee.

I went over to join them, holding Amanda’s hand while Avatasia looped her arm around mine.

Both Dan and Rachel eyed Ava’s arm but chose not to say anything.

We headed inside the cafe and a waitress immediately came over to us to greet us.

"Sawadee kap! How many persons?"

"Six of us, please," Rachel answered her, prompting the waitress to bring us to a corner of the cafe where they had a large table reserved for larger groups.

It was a little after lunch time so there wasn’t that big of a crowd here and there seemed to be more tourists here than locals.

We spent a while deciding on what we should eat before placing our order with the waitress.

I ordered green curry with chicken and a honey lemon soda for myself and Avatasia seemed to have only picked the Lanna herb salad for herself.

I know that she was definitely not a vegetarian as I have seen her eat meat before.

"Not hungry?" I asked.

She smiled at me, "Oh my dear, a woman like myself has to watch how she conducts herself in front of the person she likes, you know?"

Rachel clasped her fingers in front of her, "So... Miss Avatasia? Are you just a close friend or..."

"Fufufu~ As I said, I do hope that we are closer than friends, but I believe right now it is still a one sided relationship~"

Both Dan and Rachel turned their gaze to me and I turned to stare at Ava.

She giggled, "Ufufufu~ Please do not be mistaken~ My dear is returning my affections for him~ It’s just that I place him on a much higher pedestal that he has yet to accept yet."

I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at that.

Although I have to disagree since I’m pretty sure I have already accepted my role as a Mortal God at this point.

Dan grinned at me, "Isn’t that great, Qing? You’ve finally met a girl who will actually put up with you!"

Rachel immediately smacked him on the arm and shot him a glare, though that only made him laugh out loud.

Ava shook her head, "It is myself who was fortunate to meet my dear. I would say that it was even fated for me to have met him~"

Rachel turned back to her, "So what is your work with Qing like?"

"Mmm... How should I say this? I suppose I could say that I am my dear’s supporter in the work place~"

Obviously Dan understood what she meant but Rachel and the two girls did not.

The girls still think that I’m a Guardian working for the Mortal God so they weren’t really sure what it meant for her to be my ’supporter’.

"Mmm... Do you mean like you’re his handler, maybe?"

"Ufufufu~ Not exactly. Another woman would be closer to being his handler than I am~"

Pretty sure she was referring to Olivia for that.

"Hmm I see... So I assume that you are interested in having a relationship with Qing?"

"Fufufu~ You could say that we already are in a relationship~ After all... We have been quite... Intimate~"

Dan shot me a look while Rachel was careful in keeping her face neutral. Amanda and Joanne had no idea what was going on and had already lost interest in the conversation, opting to play a hand clapping game with each other instead.

I was wondering why Avatasia was telling them all this information when our drinks arrived and there was a pause in our conversation as we waited for the staff to place our drinks in front of us.

When he left, Rachel gave me a pointed look, "You have been physical with her, Qing?"

I don’t see a reason to lie at this point so I nodded, "Yes, I have."

"Was it consensual? Did she force herself on you?"

I’m more surprised that you even thought that she might be the one forcing herself on me instead of the other way around...

Actually... I guess she knows what kind of person I am so of course she wouldn’t think that I could be the one raping Ava.

I’m honestly quite flattered.

I was going to assure her that it was indeed consensual when Ava chuckled, "Oh, I have to admit that I was a little forceful in my approach~ So perhaps I did force myself on him?"

Almost immediately, Rachel’s face darkened upon hearing that and I quickly raised my hands to placate her.

"She’s joking, she’s joking."

Dan smirked at the elf, "Careful, Miss Avatasia, my wife here is actually more protective of Qing than I am. If she actually thinks that you mean him harm, she might go out of her way to try and ruin your life. And you wouldn’t even be the first she does it to. You know there was a girl--"

"Daniel?" Rachel whispered almost inaudibly, shooting my best friend her signature icy cold glare.

Wait, what’s this about a girl?

Dan raised his hands in surrender and it looked like Rachel was going to berate him when someone approached our table.

At first I thought it was the server coming over with our order when I realised that it was most definitely not seeing that they were westerners and dressed like tourists.

There were four of them in total and they were all grinning at Rachel and Ava.

The leader extended his hand towards Ava, "Hello there. I can’t help but notice you from across the room. I don’t suppose I can have your number?"

...
