Chapter 1030: Chapter 1030: I Want to Meet You

A chill crept into Scarlett Yates’ feet and quickly spread up her back.

While Woman A and Woman B were engrossed in their conversation, Scarlett quietly slipped away...

It was terrifying; those two women actually talked about throwing sulfuric acid at her. Matthew Saxon’s brainwashed fans were truly frightening.

She couldn’t afford to provoke them, so she could only hide.

She originally thought she could use Matthew Saxon as a shield, but who knew those crazed fans were so powerful they didn’t believe her at all.

She felt that even if Matthew Saxon were truly unwell, these women wouldn’t believe it. In their eyes, Matthew Saxon was a godlike figure; and since he’s a god, how could he have any flaws?

A god cannot have flaws, so all the wrongdoing was placed on her instead.

Scarlett began to worry whether someone might actually come with sulfuric acid to ruin her face on her wedding day, given these terrifying brainwashed fans.

Having just encountered two such scary fans, Scarlett now wanted to leave this place immediately.

She turned into a quiet corner, took out her phone, and called Matthew Saxon.

"Matthew Saxon, we’re leaving here right now."

"Leaving now?"

"Yes, leave right now, no need to wait another hour, we’re leaving now. I’ll head down first, wait for you at the entrance on the ground floor."

She quickly hung up the phone after speaking.

Turning around, she was about to head towards the elevator when a dark figure suddenly darted out.

Scarlett jumped in fright, a scream reaching her lips, but upon seeing the person’s face clearly, she suppressed it.

Her eyes remained wide open as she stared in surprise at the person blocking her way, her lips moved slightly as she lowered her voice to say, "Maxwell Saxon, why are you here?"

The dark figure was Maxwell Saxon.

She had seen him not long ago, near the traffic light intersection.

But just a moment later, he was gone, leading her to think she had mistaken someone else for him.

Yet seeing Maxwell Saxon again now, Scarlett was certain it was him she had seen earlier.

It had been nearly half a month since she last saw him in Fort City.

Within just half a month, Maxwell Saxon appeared much more haggard.

While he was still impeccably dressed and appeared with his usual aristocratic demeanor, the ambitious spark he used to have in his eyes was missing.

Once ambitious and full of fight, but now, that look was gone from his eyes.

His handsome, pale face seemed overly thin, making his already prominent features appear even more defined.

He seemed to have been ill and had just recovered, with a hint of illness still lingering on his face.

His jet-black eyes steadily fixed on her, and after a few seconds, he reached out and pulled her further into the corner, "Scarlett, I have something to say to you, after which I’ll leave."

Because of his last statement, Scarlett gave up struggling.

She followed him a few more steps in, ensuring that no one outside could see them standing here, Maxwell Saxon then released his grip.

With weary eyes deeply looking at her, he spoke in a hoarse voice, "Scarlett, in a few days I’ll leave Z City, before I leave, I want to meet you."

"Haven’t we already met?"

Scarlett felt deeply about Matthew Saxon’s current situation.

At first, she had sympathized with his plight.
