Once all of them were on the ground, that was the end of that matter.

Though the degree of injuries that they faced differed.

Those that had tried to fight only suffered a few burns before being knocked out.

Those that had tried to run had suffered cuts and burns.

It wasn’t just a single cut, it was several small cuts that hit them in just the right spots. These were spots that were designed to cause them as much pain as possible, so they would suffer the consequences of trying to run.

Xiao Mu looked like it wouldn’t let things end that easily, it looked like Xiao Mu wanted to ’ask’ them a few questions about their motives.

But in the end, Ye Qing Huan stopped Xiao Mu.

The best way to lure out the ones that were behind this was to leave out bait to draw them out.

Which was why Ye Qing Huan was letting these people go.

As for when they would return, it didn’t matter since they would run into them again as long as they were in these Dao Sect ruins.

Continuing along, it didn’t take them long to arrive at their destination.

Once they arrived, Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan both turned to look at Xiao Mu.

Xiao Mu didn’t say anything as it came forward and just stood there as if it was concentrating on something.

After a while, it was as if there was some kind of cover that was suddenly lifted as the space around them seemed to ripple. They were familiar with this since this was something that they had seen before with the weapon forging hall.

Though the array’s effect on the weapon forging hall wasn’t as strong as the effect that it had on this place.

That just went to show how important this place had been to the Dao Sect in the past.

Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan were surprised to hear this from Xiao Mu, but they quickly moved forward when Xiao Mu said this.

When they stepped past the ripple, they saw the large building appear in front of them.

This building was different from any other building that they had seen in the Dao Sect before this. This building seemed to be a tower that stretched up into the sky and they couldn’t see the tip of.

Once they had gotten over their shock at seeing this tower, they turned around to see that everything else seemed to disappear around them. It seemed like whatever array had been hiding this tower was back up and it was hiding everything else in the Dao Sect ruins.

For a place to be this strictly guarded, there was no doubt that this place contained something that had once been very important to the Dao Sect.

But then again, this was something that Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan wanted to see.

The barrier rippled once more and Xiao Mu came in after them.

Xiao Mu had remained outside the barrier until Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan had passed through, which was why it came later than them.

But it didn’t seem like Xiao Mu was surprised by the large tower that was behind the barrier like Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan had been.

It just started heading towards the tower once it passed through the barrier.

Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan weren’t in a rush to follow since they could see that there was something on the entrance to this tower. They knew that this was another seal that they would have to rely on Xiao Mu to break.

"Come over here."

Lin Fan was surprised to see Xiao Mu calling him over, but he still went over to see what it was that Xiao Mu needed.

Pointing at something on the door, Xiao Mu just looked at him as if it was waiting for something.

Lin Fan didn’t even need to guess what Xiao Mu was waiting for as he pulled out the token and pressed it up against the door. After all, that was the only thing that seemed to fit the indent that was there.

After putting the token up against it, there was a click that came from the door before it opened up.

No one was surprised to see this since this token had never failed to work.

All of the old men that they met from the Dao Sect had already spoken of how special it was, so there was no doubting that it would work.

Though how special it was and what made it so special was not something that they knew.

Even Xiao Mu with access to the database from the Dao Sect didn’t seem to know about this.

It was almost as if there was something that was restricting Xiao Mu from finding out information about this token.

After the door opened, they stepped in and saw the many different bookshelves that filled this place.

This was the library of the Dao Sect.

It was because this was the library that they wanted to come to this place.

However, they didn’t approach any of the bookshelves that were in this place.

In fact, it was as if they were wary of these bookshelves.

They knew that there would be some kind of defense system in this place, so it wasn’t as if they would be able to approach these books that easily. But at the same time, it wasn’t as if they were interested in these books to begin with.

The things that were placed near the entrance would never be the good things.

After all, the most expensive things would always be kept in the back under lock and key.

Though it wasn’t just the most expensive things that they wanted, there were other things that were also here that they would want. The things that were in the middle would also be considered valuable enough.

But the biggest part of what determined their goal was the fact that they had already obtained some things from the training hall.

If they didn’t have this, then they might be tempted by these books.

Nothing happened while they waited there.

With how silent it was, it really didn’t seem like there was anything that was going to happen.

So in the end, Lin Fan said, "We’re here to take the trial."

But even then, there was only silence that met his words.

"Guardian of the library, we are not here to cause any harm." Xiao Mu spoke after Lin Fan.

There was this ball of light that suddenly appeared in midair and then it floated down to where the three of them were standing. After that ball of light came down, it seemed like the light weakened and they were able to see the true form of this ball of light.

"A fairy?" That was all that Lin Fan could think when he saw the true appearance of the ball of light.

It was just like the image of fairies in his past life, but he couldn’t help feeling strange.

This kind of thing should have been on the magic continent and not the cultivation continent...

"So it seems like you’re not here to break the rules. Then we can at least have a chat."

The way that the small fairy acted really didn’t match its appearance at all.

Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling confused when he heard this, but he still took out the token in the end since this was what he thought she meant by these words.

However, it seemed like this wasn’t the case as the fairy said, "That token isn’t it. There’s something else that’s strangely familiar about you."

Lin Fan still had the same confused look on his face as he had no idea what the fairy was talking about.

But in the end, it seemed like the fairy lost interest in him as she turned around and started moving forward. With the way that she moved, it seemed like she wanted them to follow her.

So they followed her forward until they arrived in what seemed to be some kind of study room.
