This study room was filled with bookshelves as well, but they were all attached to the walls of the room.

In the center were several desks that were separated from each other, clearly meant for different people to use at the same time.

After arriving in this room, the fairy went over to one of the desks that was placed differently from the rest of the desks. This desk was near one of the walls, but the way that it was placed was as if it was the head of these desks.

It was like the teacher’s desk in a classroom.

After coming over to this desk, the fairy actually sat down on it and looked at the three of them.

Seeing this, they didn’t really know what to do.

"Sit down already."

Hearing this from the fairy, they sat down at the tables that were in front of them.

Only they still didn’t know what they were supposed to do.

It was only when the fairy came over with pieces of paper in its hands that they finally realized what this was.

For Lin Fan, he was the one that was the most caught off guard seeing this.

"Is this an exam?"

It turned out that this was indeed the case as there were exam papers and writing utensils that were placed in front of all of them.

Since this was a place for storing knowledge, it seemed that the trial to access this place was also a test of one’s knowledge.

However, it seemed strange that the pieces of paper that were placed in front of them were empty.

They could see that this was some kind of test, but there weren’t any questions that were on them. There were just numbers that were marking off the questions that should be a part of the test.

Once everything had been passed out, the fairy went back to the desk and lit an incense before saying, "You can start now."

As soon as the fairy’s voice fell, the questions that should have been on the test papers suddenly appeared. This was something that seemed like magic, but it only made sense that a place like the Dao Sect would have measures like this to prevent people from cheating.

As soon as the questions appeared, it wasn’t hard to figure out what this test was about.

Since it was a trial for a place filled with cultivation techniques, it only made sense that the test itself would be about cultivation.

There were many different questions about cultivation, but they weren’t considered that hard either. Most of these could be considered fundamental questions that most cultivators would have known about.

However, there were some questions in between these easier questions that weren’t as easy. These were questions that required more specialized knowledge about cultivation that normal cultivators wouldn’t have known about.

Only it turned out to be easy for Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan.

Neither Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan had a simple background to begin with.

So it wasn’t a problem for Lin Fan to answer these questions.

Ye Qing Huan had been in the Heavenly Demon Sect even longer than Lin Fan, so naturally she had even less problem answering these questions.

When the incense finished burning, the words seemed to disappear from the paper itself.

This was another one of the methods that this place used to prevent people from cheating.

Once the test was over, the fairy waved her hand and collected all of their test papers. It didn’t seem like she was even going to read them, it seemed like she already knew what grades they got with the way that she looked at them.

The one that she looked at first was Xiao Mu.

"You don’t qualify."

Xiao Mu looked surprised to hear this before asking, "Why is that?"

The fairy shook her head before saying with a smile, "You already know what you are and you’re still asking why you don’t qualify?"

Xiao Mu didn’t seem convinced when it heard this.

Seeing this, the fairy said with a sigh, "In the first place, all of the information that you have access to is stored in the Dao Sect. This information is what these tests are based on when they’re created, which basically means that you’re taking the test with a cheat sheet."

Both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan revealed wry smiles when they heard this.

Lin Fan was also a bit surprised that the fairy would say something like this.

It seemed like the fairy knew quite a bit about AI if it could make such an accurate judgement of what Xiao Mu was. It even made him wonder just how high up the fairy was in the Dao Sect in the past.

Xiao Mu didn’t seem fully convinced, but there really wasn’t that it could say in response since it knew that the fairy was right.

As for Ye Qing Huan’s answers, the fairy said, "You have a very thorough understanding of theory, something that is rare for someone of your age."

There wasn’t much that the fairy had to say to Ye Qing Huan, which showed that she was already impressed with the knowledge that Ye Qing Huan possessed. It also meant that Ye Qing Huan had most likely passed the trial.

Then when the fairy turned to look at Lin Fan, it didn’t actually say anything.

The way that it looked at Lin Fan was as if it had something to say, but at the same time it seemed like it didn’t know how to say it. It was almost as if there was something that the fairy didn’t want to say.

With a wave of her hand, the sound suddenly cut off around Lin Fan.

"You’re not from this world, are you?"

Lin Fan couldn’t help being completely caught off guard when he heard this.

If it wasn’t for the fact that he had trained himself for this in the past, he might have let it slip on his face. But his instincts stopped him from revealing too much on his face.

The one thing that he couldn’t stop was the surprised expression in his eyes.

After a long silence, Lin Fan asked, "What do you mean by this?"

The fairy said with a sigh, "There’s no need to hide this, it’s something quite obvious with how you answered the test."

Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling confused, but once again he didn’t show this on his face as he waited for the fairy to explain.

Seeing that Lin Fan was just remaining silent like this, the fairy said, "The last few questions that you answered, those aren’t normal answers. Unless you understand how mana works, it’s not as if you’ll be able to answer them."

Thinking about it, Lin Fan realized that the fairy was right.

He had already become so used to combining the two together that he did it without even thinking about it.
