World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 14: Bountiful Harvest
Leon was surprised by the care she showed, but he simply nodded and rose to his feet. In his heart, he knew he would have to fight dangerous creatures in his journey.
’Surely, Thyra is aware of this.’
She was merely showing emotional concern, which he appreciated.
The woman smiled, then summoned four items from thin air.
"I collected your rewards for you. You should really thank me for being helpful~"
Leon rolled his eyes and took the items from her.
"Sure. It’s not like I can use your strength in battles anyway."
This was a thing that pained him, but unfortunately, he couldn’t do anything about it. Thyra was a ghost, and she couldn’t interact with living beings other than him.
The woman’s head dropped slightly, her expression becoming a mask of sadness and vulnerability.
"I’m sorry for being useless, Master~" She purred, causing his ears to twitch. "Other than providing information and helping you collect your rewards after battle, the only thing I can offer you is my body."
She leaned forward in a submissive stance, her purple eyes staring into his with a charming look.
"Please use me as you please~"
Leon stood frozen, his mind collapsing rapidly. He bit himself hard on the lip, and the pain finally snapped him back to reality.
Gritting his teeth, he shot her an annoyed glare.
"Damned demon! Stop tempting me."
He immediately turned around, focusing on the rewards as he tried to forget the woman’s antics just now.
Thyra giggled to herself, the sound soft and pleasant.
’If it were any other man, they’d have surely fallen by now. Awwwn~ I’m starting to like you more and more, Little Leon.’
In Leon’s hands were three cubes and one scroll. This meant he got three treasures and one ability or trait.
Excited, he crushed the first cube. A magnificent black sword made of stone appeared in his hand, the weight almost making him stumble.
Leon’s eyes widened, and he immediately checked the weapon’s information.
[Jade Blade]
[Rank: Tier One]
[Enchantment: When attacking, increases attack power by 10% if fighting on land]
[Attack Power: 100]
[Durability: 200/200]
[Description: A heavy blade forged from the ruins of the Heavenly Jade Emperor’s Castle]
The information displayed was more detailed than he expected, making him wonder if the red spear was a fake product.
Thyra smiled knowingly as she read his expression.
"There is naturally a difference between ranked weapons and unranked weapons. Your spear is an unranked weapon so it’s pretty average—though, I can assure you that it’s still a top quality of its kind."
She stepped closer, placing a hand on the black blade. The information was displayed for her to see too.
"You see? The attack power signifies how much damage the weapon can deal. As for its durability, it’s to help you know when your weapon is worn out. You wouldn’t want to suddenly have your weapon shattering mid-battle, would you?"
She chuckled, looking up to see him staring at her with a peculiar look.
"What is it? Is it only now that you realize I look beautiful?"
Leon shook his head, his expression calm.
"No. I’m aware you’re beautiful. I just want to say thanks."
The black-haired woman blinked, clearly not expecting that.
"Thanks? For what?"
Leon turned his attention back to the greatsword.
"For the information you always give me. It might seem small, but I still appreciate it."
Thyra smiled warmly and nodded. It felt nice receiving such an appreciation from him.
Leon put the greatsword aside, then checked the second cube. He crushed it easily, watching carefully as the sparks manifested into a bracelet.
"Oh?"
[Handy Bracelet]
[Rank: Tier One]
[Enchantment: Decreases mana consumption for abilities]
[Durability: 30/30]
[Description: A bracelet created from scales of a Tier One Flying Spearfish]
To his surprise, it was another ranked treasure. The Shadow Demon was also surprised, not expecting his luck to be that good.
’The Star Stream is really generous.’
Leon chuckled, equipping the bracelet on his right wrist. It fit firmly without giving him the slightest discomfort, as if it was specially made for him.
Turning his attention to the last treasure cube, he hoped he could get another Tier One treasure. Unfortunately, his luck wasn’t that absurd.
After all, it wasn’t like the Star Stream was his father, right?
Still, the last treasure he got was what he needed, even if it was unranked.
"Not bad. I was expecting an old-fashioned armor, but it seems this Star Stream has adapted to modern fashion."
The treasure was a tracksuit made of strange material that seemed like metal, yet was as malleable as normal cloth material.
He immediately checked the little information provided.
[Full Combat Gear - Protects the covered body parts from attacks on a similar scale to bullets and sharp cuts from knives]
Leon’s eyes widened, secretly impressed. If he wore this, then he would become impervious to attacks from guns and could finally be free of worry of being scratched by a zombie.
He immediately put on the tracksuit, letting it hug his slim but packed build perfectly.
Finally, he turned his attention to the scroll in his hands. With a single thought, the information appeared before his eyes.
[Trait: Enhanced Touch - Increases the sensitivity of the body, and helps improve the pleasure of dual cultivation]
The instant he read the description, Leon’s face darkened.
’Dual Cultivation? What is this? A Chinese book?’
That wasn’t what made him displeased, though. The main problem lied with him, as his thoughts had immediately snapped to a certain oblivious half-succubus.
’My brain... damnit!’
He smiled bitterly as he put the scroll in his bag, determined not to use it. His actions surprised Thyra, and she inquired what the scroll was about. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"It’s a useless one. Nothing relevant."
He said with a straight face, then turned to look at the corpse of the Tier One spider that was lying outside the female dormitory.
He walked up to the corpse, then felt one of his traits activate automatically.
— Ability: Poisonous Cloud. Extract?
Blinking, he saw a small ball of green gas floating inside the creature’s body.
’That must be the ability it used the other time. Hmm.’ His eyes narrowed faintly, ’Yes. Extract.’
His right hand turned golden, and he reached out to the corpse. Surprisingly, his hand passed through its physical body like it wasn’t there, and he grabbed the green cloud.
With a little tug, he pulled it out, watching it transform into a scroll right before his eyes.
Behind him, Thyra’s jaw dropped. "You... you took its ability...?"
Despite having several years of experience in high-level worlds, the powerful Shadow Demon was shocked beyond measure.
