World-saving Plan: The Only Savior
Chapter 1859 - 5: Hive Project (Part 1)_2
With the instructor’s command, Li Zixuan’s long-tense nerves finally relaxed.
He looked around. Beside him were companions just like him, participating in this training. This scene gave him a strong sense of déjà vu, as if he was back on the first day of entering the "Beller" game, where he was receiving the instructor’s lecture on the square with a group of new recruits. Even the two instructors both had a bearded face; it was simply déjà vu.
However, Li Zixuan also understood that although this scene somewhat resembled the picture in his memory, they were fundamentally different. The biggest difference was that one was a game, where death meant a chance to start over, while the other was reality, where a single failure could mean never returning.
Thinking of this, Li Zixuan suddenly felt a bit dazed. All of this felt like a dream; he didn’t know how he ended up here step by step. Clearly, he was just an ordinary homebody, at most a little better at playing games, but now he had been pulled into the Anti-Demon Army, undergoing the strictest military training, and would personally battle Insects in the future. Thinking about it all felt surreal.
Many people shared his thoughts. The new recruits walked into their dormitories somewhat unsettled and began to organize their personal belongings.
This was their first night living on Rebirth Island. Although still a bit uneasy, it was at least a good start. Anyway, the terrifying training that followed would completely make them forget all their random thoughts.
Li Zixuan was quite satisfied with the dormitory. The exquisite decoration made it seem like walking onto the set of a sci-fi movie. The more than fifty square meters dorm was for him alone, with all necessary living supplies, and even a lot of high-tech products that couldn’t be seen outside.
The night quickly passed, and with the morning wake-up bell ringing the next day, Li Zixuan and the others quickly woke from their dreams.
When they rushed out to gather at the fastest speed, what they got was a tongue-lashing scolding from the bearded instructor.
"Seven minutes and thirty-two seconds! Are you out shopping? If the Insects had come just now, you’d all be dead in the corridor! What are you still talking about resisting!?"
The instructor’s scolding made these new recruits hang their heads low. Although they had experienced similar training in the game, it was ultimately just training, with the beginner tutorials being fast-forwarded with narrative devices. How could they have truly participated in any military training?
"Starting today, you will undergo five hours of physical training every day. At the same time, most of your first-year courses will be completed in the B12 area. That’s the base’s laboratory, and your primary task is to learn theoretical courses and grasp basic theoretical knowledge!"
Li Zixuan had already expected this. After all, flying a spaceship couldn’t be as easy as in the game. In reality, in order to fly a spaceship well, you must first learn basic theories before you can start practicing.
In addition to this, a lot of knowledge about Alien Species needs to be learned. Compared to the previous understanding of Alien Species, if they want to truly fight them in the future, they definitely need more professional guidance to be thoroughly familiar with every possible Alien Species, fully mastering their strengths and weaknesses, and also memorizing every Alien Species’s living habits, and all related information.
Only, these things were still manageable. Li Zixuan considered himself to be the type of person who made a living using his brain; no matter how tiring the learning was, he wasn’t afraid of it. The only thing he was afraid of was the physical training led by the instructor.
The intensity of the physical training here far exceeded Li Zixuan’s expectations. When he saw the long list of training contents on the schedule, he was stunned, unable to believe that this was the amount that needed to be completed every day.
"Although your future development direction is to become pilots of small spaceships, some might become ship captains of larger spaceships, and perhaps very few have a slim hope to become fleet Commanders, basic physical training is still indispensable."
The bearded instructor began his daily lecture.
"There’s a saying that goes, ’The body is the revolution’s capital.’ Without a good body, it doesn’t matter how good your spaceship piloting skills are. When the time comes, if you can’t adapt to the various harsh environments and emergencies in space, you can only become a burden to the team!"
"Of course, physical training is just one aspect. On the other hand, the base also provides you with a complete physical enhancement chain. You will receive special Enhancement Potions to comprehensively improve your physical fitness!"
"Each of these Potions is extremely precious; it can be said that you may not be able to afford them in your entire life. There is no way to obtain them externally as they are only specially provided to soldiers within the Anti-Demon Alliance."
"Rookies! I want you to remember! The base’s resources are not infinite, nor will they cultivate you for free. All the benefits you are receiving now are to prepare for helping humanity resist the invasion of Alien Species in the future! I want you to have the right attitude and not let the base’s efforts go to waste!"
The bearded instructor’s speech made Li Zixuan and the others breathe a sigh of relief, but at the same time, there was a greater sense of urgency in their hearts.
The good news was that their physical training was not unmanageable, as the base would provide corresponding medicines to help improve their fitness. The bad news was that the pressure was somewhat overwhelming for them, with each person’s heart feeling weighed down by a giant stone as heavy as a thousand pounds.
...
Time passed in the midst of this fulfilling daily training and study. In the blink of an eye, Li Zixuan found himself having already been here for a full three years.
In three years, Li Zixuan had undergone a complete transformation. Although he might not yet qualify as a competent ship captain, at least he had become a true warrior.
The restless boy from back then no longer existed; in his place was a decisive and fearless Anti-Demon Army Soldier.
During these three years, Li Zixuan persevered through what was considered a daunting training volume in the entire Anti-Demon Army. The faces around him changed batch after batch, yet he never gave up, ultimately succeeding in obtaining the spaceship piloting certification.
Li Zixuan won the admiration of many soldiers in the army with his tenacity. He was the first among this batch of trainees to obtain the certification; the instructor made an exception to apply to the base to assign him a modified version of a Wasp-class spaceship.
This was a small Space Shuttle, with a total length of only fifteen meters and a maximum capacity of five people. Li Zixuan became the ship captain of this spaceship.
This was the first spaceship Li Zixuan owned, and on the same day, he shed his trainee status and was granted the official position of Apprentice Captain in the Anti-Demon Army.
"Congratulations, Li. From today onwards, you are no longer a trainee, but a true Anti-Demon Army Soldier. You are my pride, Li; this honor belongs to you!"
The bearded instructor placed a Seal on Li Zixuan’s left chest, and then the two exchanged a Star Touching Ceremony.
Meanwhile, enthusiastic applause erupted from below the stage. The new trainees looked at him with fiery eyes, yearning for the day when they too could stand on that commendation stage.
Li Zixuan turned around and saluted the crowd below before leaving.
In the dormitory, a few good brothers lifted him high, all cheering and celebrating his success.
"Old Li, you’ve finally made it, as an Apprentice Captain in the Anti-Demon Army! I bet the bearded instructor will now call you sir, right? When can we be like you? Ah, I envy you to death!"
