Yandere Monster Evolution: My Blind Wife Will Become a Demonic Queen
Chapter 23: Cover
’A quest?’
The system is finally giving me a quest. But what about the reward and the penalty? Shouldn’t it be displayed at the bottom of the screen too?
Or maybe my system doesn’t have anything like that? And the goal is as simple as gathering mana, really? Now it does feel like a real system.
’Gathering mana is going to be an easy task.’
There were many questions and thoughts in my mind but I pushed them all aside and brought my focus back to Viora.
Right now, she is the one who needs all of my attention. I looked at her and then at the door. Even after all those shouts and screams no one was coming to see what was happening.
I think it is because this room is a little far from every other room and there rarely is anyone outside it.
I could be wrong, but for now there is no other solid explanation. However, it doesn’t matter since Viora is alright now.
I looked down at her now calm posture. Currently, one of her hands was clutching my arm and the other was resting on my chest beside her face.
Her eyes were closed and now she was breathing normally like before. I think she has fallen asleep.
Not her fault, everyone would want to take a nap after going through that.
I gently placed her head onto the bed and by using the bed and side table as support I stood up from the ground and sat next to her.
Phew~
I let out a sigh and decided to check out what the system had done and what uses those things had while I waited for Viora to wake up.
"System," I whispered. Unlike my sore and tired body, my voice was coming out really steady. "Show me everything you have done to Viora."
As I said that, the system complied and showed me everything.
[’Viora’ has been contracted as your wife.
Effect: If any of you tries to leave the other, the person leaving will feel immense pain and die in a month if you don’t get back together before then!]
What?!
So this is what a contract meant? If by any chance Viora doesn’t like me romantically or a situation arises where one of us has to leave, then we will die.
Who the heck made this kind of contract?
I turned my head and looked at Viora.
If there is a condition like leaving each other then I guess I just need to make sure something like that never happens.
As I looked over her sleeping form, I noticed that unlike before her skin tone now felt less pale and the faint circles under her eyes had also disappeared completely.
On top of all that, the wire ring was the matter which caught my attention the most.
The thing is, it wasn’t even on her finger anymore. In its place there was now a real brownish ring wrapped around her little finger. It was shaped like two snakes eating each other’s tails.
"Mum..."
Even in her sleep Viora was thinking about her mom and was sleep talking about it.
Watching all these small things, a smile appeared on my face and I turned back to the screen to read the other things.
[’Soul-Link’ has been initiated between you two.
If one of you dies, the other will also perish!]
The first thing about the contract was something I could understand. After all, it wasn’t much but this???
This is just crossing the line.
What if I die somehow? Then that means Viora will die too.
I can’t accept that.
That leaves me with only one choice.
It means I also have to get strong enough not to be killed by some random extra.
’Just for Viora, yeah. It isn’t like I am excited about it or anything.’
I tried to deny the fact that I was happy about all these challenges.
Now, I feel like I have really transmigrated. Before, everything was just too calm.
"Hahahah,"
A tired laugh escaped my lips. Somehow, despite all this insanity, I felt more alive than ever.
The screen had also vanished from in front of me because those two were the only things it had, except for the transformation stuff which was still pending.
After that I calmed my mind and body, then I opened the drawer of the side table and grabbed the towel which was inside it.
’I should do something about those horns first.’
I leaned in closer to Viora and tied the fabric around her head, hoping that it would atleast cover them up.
My face was just a few inches away from hers and I was about to tie the second knot when I heard the door opening.
’Oh, shit.’
I turned my head as fast as I could and saw two figures standing in front of the door, both looking shocked and confused.
