Chapter 535: Is This For Real?!

>Host has successfully formed blood bond with a beast that is adequately intelligent. There is no bond progress bar until Soul Bond stage for intelligent beasts, and host is capable of copying all the beast’s traits at once.
And just like that—

At once, Leo felt something fundamental change within his body. His bones were reinforced, blood surged vigorously through his veins, and even both of his souls seemed to gain a few extra layers of defense.
And the system wasn’t done yet.
Ding!

Leo was still in a daze from the feeling of euphoria he was experiencing after obtaining all those draconic traits. Not only that, but one particular trait was making his mind clearer and allowing him to process information far more quickly.
That was [Draconic Wisdom].
Though it didn’t enhance his strength in any way, this trait was equally, if not more important, than the others.
Within moments, everything settled in Leo’s mind and he returned to reality.
"Damn!" Leo exclaimed as he looked at the boost.
If just Lesser Draconic traits were so monstrous, he could only imagine how absurd intermediate traits like those from Lily’s Hydra would be.
He immediately looked at the Wyvern, which was actually stronger than it appeared.
People could only sense stats, not the percentage increases granted by traits like those possessed by Wyverns. No wonder draconic beings were called superior beings. Even if a non-dragon enemy appeared similar in strength to a dragon, the dragon could very well possess double or even triple the actual power.
He turned toward the dumbfounded Wyvern, who was staring at him with wide eyes.
"Y-you... how did you suddenly start emitting the aura of a dragon?!" he asked in disbelief. He was actually feeling suppressed by Leo’s presence and even a bit fearful due to the superior draconic aura.
Leo smirked.
"Just know that your new master possesses a wide range of abilities."
Thankfully, because of the chaotic situation around the secret place, nobody sensed the shift. Even the adolescent dragons were deeply focused on sucking as many Wyverns as possible.
After that, Leo noticed something.
"You don’t have a name?"
The Wyvern simply looked at him.
"The naming rights for intelligent beasts solely belong to those above us in the ancestry or, in some cases, collateral relatives. But my so-called father never bothered to name us, nor was my mother able to do it since she was his slave and her power was directly channeled through him. In the end, most of us remained unnamed," the Wyvern replied without any change in expression.
Leo thought for a while.
"Why? Aren’t you capable of giving yourself a name?" he asked.
The Wyvern looked at him in confusion.
"Don’t you know that your soul needs to be very strong to name a nameless beast? Especially intelligent beasts? And if you try to force it beyond your limit, you can even die."
Leo stared blankly at the Wyvern for a few moments.
What the fuck? Why don’t I know that? he thought with a straight face.
He had been naming his beasts without a second thought, yet he had never known about such limitations.
Welp, Mythical Soul once again comes in clutch, I guess.
Only now did Leo start recalling how most beast tamers he had encountered, even the top 10 students, simply called their beasts by their species.
But then he remembered that Kaelion’s beasts had names and that his soul was even damaged.
He immediately asked about something that had just popped into his head.
"So... if a tamer names his beast, is it possible for the named beast to somehow reinforce their tamer’s soul?"
The Wyvern thought for a while.
"Of course. That’s not a possibility, that’s a fact."
Leo nodded.
No wonder Kaelion was still able to exert so much strength even after that Soul devouring curse from some high ranked demon
Then asked another question.
"Well, even if you don’t have an official name, you do call yourself something, right? Or the other Wyverns call you something?" he asked.
The Wyvern released a steamy breath from his nostrils.
"I like to call myself Agnivar."
"That’s good. From now on, you will be called Agnivar."
Ding!
>Name: ? -> Agnivar
The Wyvern retracted his long neck, caught completely off guard.
"I just said naming an intelligent beast is very tasking—"
His pupils suddenly contracted when he felt the internal changes occurring within him.
There was a moment of silence between them as they looked at each other.
Finding no words, the Wyvern simply turned around.
"Let’s go. I need to be beside my woman lest someone finds her and harms her."
Leo had only started walking when another system chime rang.
Ding!
>Soul bond established with the individual ’Agnivar’.
>Bond: Blood Bond -> Soul Bond - 0%
>Note: Increase the bond percentage to 1% to get the starting benefits.
What in the world is happening today... not that I’m complaining since it’s all good.
Leo inwardly mused, thinking that not cursing his luck back during all those talent extraction failures was finally paying off.
At some point, Agnivar even let Leo ride on his back as they flew at low altitude to a place nearly 4 kilometers away—still underground while avoiding the Adolescent dragons. They arrived at a relatively rocky and desolate region devoid of lava flows and channels, a place clearly unfavored by Wyverns, as evidenced by the lack of noise in the surroundings.
After landing, Agnivar stood before a large boulder around 4 to 5 meters wide that seemed naturally embedded in the surface.
He trotted atop the rock with folded wings and tapped it.
Tap Tap... Tap.Tap.Tap... Tap Tap
Not even a second later, a suppressed voice came from beneath the rock.
"Agni? Are you there?"
"Yes, it’s me."
Leo used [Geo Resonance Sense] and detected a space nearly 10 cubic meters beneath the rock that didn’t seem natural.
Which meant someone had dug it manually.
Most probably Agnivar, to keep his girl safe, Leo thought.
In a place filled with young Wyverns who even went after their sisters, it was necessary for male Wyverns to keep their weaker females mates safe in their absence.
And Leo could tell that the Wyvern beneath the ground was only a High 2-star being.
What in the world...? Can my Zelut really defeat a Wyvern?
Leo wondered. After eating so many corpses and beast cores, which Niri had decided to share after discovering they no longer worked on her, Zelut had reached Peak 2-star.
Damn, a mouse beating a pterodactyl.
Leo chuckled inwardly as he watched Agnivar push against the boulder with all his might, barely making it shift.
Even the Wyvern below was helping push it from the other side.
It seemed that Agnivar had purposely selected a boulder that required both their strengths to move, so that even if their hiding place was discovered, nobody would be able to attack his girl.
"Agni, did those noble dragons go away? Haah!" she asked while pushing the boulder.
"What happened to father?"
"Why did he kill my mother after that strong noble dragon told him to? Was he controlled? Haah!"
"Ashira, why do you still care about that scumbag? Well, I guess he might seem good after killing your mother, who cast you aside after giving birth to you," Agni said while continuing to push the boulder.
"Agni, don’t speak like that. He is still our father... and my mother... she was just desperate."
"Desperate my ass. She was jealous of your talent. A MOTHER JEALOUS OF HER KID!"
Agnivar seemed to gain newfound strength as the boulder started moving faster.
It seemed that the Wyvern called Ashira had no reply to that, as Leo sensed her quiet down.
Boring...
By now, he should have killed 10 more Wyverns, since he could simply kill them without needing to give them a chance to be tamed.
"Move aside," Leo said as he charged his fist with [Critical Strike].
"Agni, who—!"
Ashira heard the foreign voice and tried to ask, but—
BAAM—CRASH!
"WHO!?"
Thinking Agnivar had been attacked, Ashira slithered out of the bunker and lunged at the attacker.
She spotted Agnivar backing away from the crash site to avoid the falling debris and immediately rushed toward him without even checking who the attacker was.
A dragon! A dragon! NO!!!
She screamed inwardly when she sensed Leo’s draconic aura nearby and thought it had come to kill Agnivar as well.
Meanwhile, Leo was noting Ashira’s size.
