Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven
Chapter 379: Connection restored
The gazes of so many people made her uncomfortable, she reached out and touched the statue.
The ice melted instantly and the princess appeared, she had reversed freezing at a molecular level.
Before anybody else could say anything, she disappeared. Seeing the holy maiden disappear, they were disappointed.
They took the princess inside and news spread fast, the holy maiden had appeared and they had seen her.
Naledi stood above the planet in outer space, looking at it she noticed it was a bit larger than earth before its expansion.
Not to mention, it was a planet, she realised she was definitely not on Pangera anymore meaning she was in another universe.
And it had planets instead of a single realm, she wondered if it was also shattered in the great war.
Then she remembered Ved and closed her eyes, their connection told her his direction and she smiled.
At least he was still alive, she flew back down to the planet below, she had realised this world had a different power system.
She planned to study it while waiting for Ved, she might be able to bring it back home and enhance the power of her people.
She used her will to make herself undetected to those weaker than her which was everybody here.
She went to the royal library and started reading, she ignored the history and everything and went to the books about the magus.
This is what they call the people here, they did not use vessels like other humans in her universe.
Instead they drew some form of runic circles that resembled arrays but they were also a bit different.
There were extra runes that she had never seen in her universe, she figured these runes are the reason they’re able to use this power.
With her soul strength and will, it didn’t take long for her to read through all of the books and the magi spells.
She learnt there were two paths to magi, the body path and the magic path. The body path was straightforward.
Those of this path drew the runic circles on their bodies to use something akin to enhancement magic.
The magic path was similar to when Aira uses runic arrays. They use their will to draw these lines in the air.
She tried it, she memorised all of the runes then using her will she drew a tiny blue circle in the air.
A tiny icicle flew out and hit the wall a few metres away. Naledi nodded, this magi path was simple enough.
However it had its weaknesses, glaring ones infact. One, the power is not theirs but is borrowed.
Two, it doesn’t temper their souls or bodies thus they barely grow stronger, even growing their will is hard.
But the most glaring weakness is lifespan, the lifespan of magi does not change, it remains the same as that of normal humans.
Not to mention it was quite limiting on what you can do, the commands through the runic circles are too specific and rigid.
Its only upside was that it was a quick power boost, as long as you have a will strong enough and know the runes you can cast any technique.
Naledi was already thinking of ways to apply this power system to her own power, perhaps use it to comprehend laws.
Each runic circle had a rank of their own and the power of your spells depended on the rank of your runic circle.
To count as a rank 4 magi, you must be able to draw at least two rank 4 runic circles. Naledi could count as a rank 6 magi.
The library obviously didn’t have runic circles of that level, rank 4 was the limit for them.
Naledi combined the runes from Pangera with the specific runes used to anchor runic circles here.
What she created was a runic circle much more powerful than those found in this universe.
She couldn’t help but laugh softly, now she needed to take advantage of this system to comprehend laws.
If she learnt rank 7 runes and used them to draw a runic circle she would gain a deeper understanding of laws.
But that was easier said than done, it was still easier than comprehending laws the traditional way.
She started, she had a large repertoire of rune books from her world, on earth she probably owned the third largest library after the librarian and Ved.
The librarian lived for that and Ved’s predecessor seemed like he was obsessed with knowledge.
---------------------------
As Neledi was obsessed with learning the new system, Ved suddenly opened his eyes in another part of the universe.
He had been staying there for seven years now, for the past two he had been trying to locate her to no avail.
The connection between them was too faint, his spirit had healed much faster than hers but it seemed she was disconnected.
Just a few hours ago he felt the connection grow stronger and he was able to sense her direction.
The altar he was on shook, the mountainous dragon sat up terrifying the mermen who were below.
They looked up with reverence as well as fear but they were not the only ones. This entire world worshipped him.
There were altars of him everywhere around the world, Manas told him to stay a bit longer as that would be beneficial to him.
Otherwise he would’ve left like two years ago but now, he could finally leave this place.
He unfurled his massive wings then gently swam up until he left the sea, he looked around him and all he saw were trees.
They grew on the ocean, he flew further up until he left the planet then he looked back down.
The entire planet was covered in green, massive trees grew everywhere, whether it’d be lakes, rivers, mountains etc.
" Are sure this used to be a barren world?" He asked and Manas answered.
" Yep, this was caused by a single drop of your blood, I think you’re still underestimating the potency of your life force."
He nodded, " I should be more careful where I bleed."
