"Fuck this shit," Ray cursed to himself; staying any longer meant putting his life at risk.

While his foe prepared for an attack, Ray’s wings grew larger, carrying him with his maximum speed. The gravity of the king already had an effect on him; a force pulled him backwards, decreasing his speed.

What remained from the ground beneath them turned into huge chunks getting pulled toward the king. With a flick of his hand, all of them attacked Ray, with him hiding between them.

Taking a syringe out of her inventory, Ray injected it into her hand. High doses of radiation entered his blood system, but his magic caged it at his hand only. With that single trick, thousands of needles in the sky exploded like nuclear bombs.

Behind him explosions happened one after another; his act could hurt the planet to a dangerous degree, yet he attacked once more.

Gravitational pull still stayed there; radiation couldn’t kill an immortal, but it surely poisoned them. His blood neutralized the poison in his system before it faded away completely; Ray used his final attack.

Turning his blood into gas, he spread it around as much as he could. As a gas it couldn’t be used as a bomb; instead, in a blink, a green cloud took over the sky above them.

All the gas started to be pulled toward the king; for a second he had to start his magic to dodge the poisonous cloud, and that was all that Ray needed. In terms of speed he couldn’t outmatch him, so he wanted to find a way to teleport.

His skin burned from the poison; compared to the pains he had gone through, he didn’t even flinch.

Doll from before came to his view; his attacks rained down on him once more. Right before he was about to dodge a jade hand, gravity pulled him a little. The blade was not sharp at all; instead, it crushed half of his body in an instant.

The target himself came to his view too; a few burns were made on his clothing, and the only other injury on him was his gloves that Ray had cut.

"How you see me is not with your eyes, but rather my magic! That’s how you can react to me." "King of silence," said a dry tone.

Ray’s eyes couldn’t understand the speed of light, but his mind was different. Even if it stayed behind at times, it could react in time. "So what? Not like you can go faster than the speed of light."

"From the beginning you didn’t fight with your whole potential..."

"I couldn’t win anyway; what was the point?" His eyes turned red; a major attack on him was all that he needed.

"Inferno’s door."

The king shot a burst of light to the environment to break the domain. "Why is it so easily destroyed?" As he came to release, it was too late.

"Got you." Ray’s right hand faced an insane pressure as he moved it in the air like a claw; instead of his red claw, a dark claw with seven fingers came from the air; even space itself was affected by it.

The doll moved in front of it; the dark claw cut through it like a thin piece of paper, hitting its target. All of the attacks’ powers came from his mind, so it matched the king’s speed.

King dodged it barely, with a leg and a hand flying in the air. The attack had the magic of fear and hunger in it; he was sure of it! Looking at Ray, he was already gone.

Honey made for the lost organs; the place he had teleported to was protected by an immortal; he couldn’t get into it. Yet.

Ray fell on his knees in front of the entrance of the mansion. Butlers rushed to help him, but seeing his condition, all of them hesitated.

Dark blood came out from his ears and eyes, with his right hand crumbled into a thin line of flesh. His breaths were heavy as he turned to Trom. "Call Marian; I have run out of magic."

The claw of the devil was by far his strongest attack after the crimson star. With such power came huge backlashes; after using it, he couldn’t use any magic for two days, and devil magic would have hurt his body in the meantime.

As an attack, it was on an immortal level, but with level 9, Ray had to use it only in special conditions.

Marian rushed to his side, moonlight magic running through his veins, decreasing the pain. "Thank god you returned."

Ray coughed some dark blood. "How are Jade and Alexanderia?"

"Alexanderia will be fine, but Jade... Jade is weird."

Ray faced him with a serious expression. "What happened to Jade?"

Marian hugged him tightly, sobbing for the sudden change. "Her rank is currently B. Staying in one room with us can kill her. Butlers are taking care of her."

"What?" Ray was happy that she lived, but the news was devastating. It meant he couldn’t even talk to her anymore. "Are you sure?"

"..."

Ray punched the ground; with such a rank, she must have lost her magic too. Her lifespan would get shorter by a big margin too.

"All the kings of the underworld are dead; there is no internet access, so we don’t know what the hell is going on in the rest of the world."

Ray had never seen Marian in such a pathetic state. "It’s not for me to fall into despair too..." With hardship Ray came out of her arms; even standing caused pain in his bones.

"Get your shit together." Ray’s eyes were empty like a void. "From the whole resistance group only three of us have remained; there will be no support from the immortals at this point even if Cindi makes a way to stop the artifact."

Spitting the blood in his mouth Ray continued, "You can go to Mars; it’s way safer in there, but there is another option." Seeing his pathetic state, he laughed, "Stay with me and kill every last one of them."

Marian’s hands fell on her knees; she didn’t have energy to raise them again. "Do you see any hope?"

"I see nothing but darkness. But I want you to dive into the abyss with me!"
