Chapter 288: Chapter 288: Fall

The agonizing memories were too much for Mika Summers to bear. It felt as though her head and heart were about to explode.

She raised her hand and, with all her strength, slapped Maggie Monroe across the face. "You madwoman!"

The force of the slap sent Maggie sprawling to the ground. Blood began gushing from the corner of her mouth and her nose, streaming down her face.

Seeing this, Mika Summers recoiled, a little frightened.

Maggie Monroe’s head was spinning, but she clung to consciousness and ordered the men she had brought with her to seize Mika Summers.

The men dragged Mika Summers to the edge of the rooftop.

Maggie Monroe casually wiped away the blood, stood up, and said with a chilling smile, "Mika Summers, do you dare to compete with me? Let’s see who Tristan Grayson truly loves."

Seeing that Mika Summers wasn’t speaking, Maggie Monroe laughed again. "It’s fine if you don’t agree. I’ve already called him. He’ll probably be here soon."

This time, Mika Summers wasn’t afraid. It wasn’t because she was certain Tristan Grayson would save her or that he loved her, but because she believed that if he came, at least her Kiki could be saved.

But Maggie Monroe’s next move utterly horrified Mika Summers. She walked over to Una Sullivan and forcibly snatched the baby from her arms.

"What are you doing? Let go of my child!" Seeing this, Mika Summers struggled desperately, trying to reach Maggie Monroe.

"To reunite your family, of course. Otherwise, it would be so boring."

"You lunatic! You’re insane! Put my child down right now!"

Maggie Monroe walked toward Mika Summers, holding Kiki. As she walked, she gently soothed the wailing baby in her arms, "There, there, good baby, don’t cry. Mommy will take you away soon, okay?"

Watching Maggie Monroe coo at Kiki, Mika was truly terrified—utterly and completely terrified. ’This isn’t a normal person! She’s a psychopath! She makes my skin crawl even more than Gia Miller did.’

Maggie Monroe’s tone was gentle, yet her eyes glinted with a sinister viciousness. She carried Kiki over to Mika Summers’s side, stood at the edge of the rooftop, and just kept gently, rhythmically soothing the baby.

"Maggie Monroe, please give me the baby, okay? I swear I’ll leave Tristan Grayson. I’ll really leave Tristan Grayson."

It was as if Maggie Monroe hadn’t heard her. Still holding Kiki, she turned around and sat down on the ledge.

The brazen move sent a violent tremor through Mika Summers’s entire being. Her hands clenched into fists. She glanced at the men beside her, and seeing their attention was also on Maggie Monroe, she struggled with all her might. She lowered her head and bit down hard on the hand of the man gripping her arm. The sudden pain forced the man to let go. Mika quickly rushed over, bent down, and snatched Kiki from Maggie’s arms, clutching the baby tightly, terrified that any harm would come to her.

When Maggie Monroe came to her senses and reached to grab the baby back, Mika Summers, with no time to think, lifted her leg and kicked her.

"AHH!" Maggie Monroe shrieked in terror, her body falling backward.

"Don’t!" At that moment, Tristan Grayson came running. He reached out to grab Maggie Monroe, but he’d forgotten that his hand had no strength at all. Even though he touched her hand, he could only watch helplessly as she plummeted. "Maggie, grab on to me!"

"Tristan... Tristan..."

Holding Kiki, Mika Summers was trembling all over, her legs shaking uncontrollably.
