Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 292: [Bonus - ]I Want To Bite Him
(This one is for @Sel_Murf and @Jennifer Goliah, thank you for your constant support)
Before the creature could lift her any higher, Silver sprang into action by unsheathing his sword and jumping higher he cut off its arms which held Rubisha.
The creature cried out as the blood gushed out of its cut limbs while Rubisha dropped to the ground. She removed the severed arms from her shoulders with a grimace.
Silver then drove the sword through the creature’s chest without breaking a sweat, and yanked it to the ground. Swinging his sword he severed the head of the creature from its body and rolled it towards Rubisha.
The head stopped near Rubisha’s feet and she gave it a disdainful look. She was feeling irked by Silver’s presence and aid. She lifted her head and stared directly into Silver’s eyes and spoke in a dismissive tone:
"I didn’t need your help."
"You are welcome," Silver replied in an irritated tone and moved ahead to deal with the rest of the creatures and rogues.
A bloody battle ensued for another half an hour and about seven police officers and special forces personnel lost their lives. No civilian was taken or got injured during the attack which was taken as a huge win.
Night had fallen and Silver had stayed to help with the cleanup process.
Once everything was under control, Silver sat at the side of the street to clean his bloodied sword. Rubisha approached him and curiously asked:
"You are unimaginably fast for a human. I don’t think you are one. Who are you?" her scrutinized gaze roamed his tapered body.
"None of your concern. I thought you didn’t care, why the sudden interest?" he didn’t spare her a glance. Her mouth flew open and her irises enlarged at his tone.
"You are in my city. It is my concern to know what kind of creature you are," she placed her hands on her hips and kept staring at him while tapping one shoe on the ground.
Silver just shrugged his shoulders and still didn’t glance at her. She stomped her foot and walked away and only then he lifted his eyes to peek at her receding back. A smirk appeared on his face.
He went back to his condo late at night and after a bath to wash off the blood and grime, he wrapped a towel around his waist and exited the bathroom.
Before he could put on his clothes there was a knock on the door. He went and unlocked the door to find Rubisha standing there with a plate of roasted chicken and a stern look on her face which turned to a slightly shy one seeing him standing there only in a towel. Water dripped from his wet hair and fell on his naked chest.
"Can I come in," she tried not to look anywhere but at his face. But it was easier said than done. Silver was a tad surprised to find her standing at his doorstep.
"Yes," he threw the door open so she could step inside, not concerned about his lack of attire. Nakedness was something he always found natural, it never bothered him.
She walked inside and placed the plate on his kitchen counter. "I brought you food as a peace treaty. I think we got on the wrong footing, and I wanted to thank you for saving my life today."
Silver was surprised at her words, he wasn’t expecting this from her.
"No worries, just doing my job," he acted indifferently and went on to settle down calmly on the sofa and faced her before asking:
"Are you part of special forces?"
"No. I run my own cosmetics company but Kili is my cousin so I try to help him keep the city safe whenever I am free. The least I can do to repay," he didn’t understand what she meant by repay but he was a bit surprised to hear she was not from special forces.
"Never expected that. Anyways thanks for bringing me dinner, I wasn’t looking forward to cooking," his gaze was slightly unsettling as theirs met, his damp hair was still dripping a few droplets which fell on his shoulders and trickled down. She couldn’t help but follow the trail with her eyes and Silver’s eyes narrowed a bit, seeing her watching him.
"It’s ok, I should get going," Rubisha noticed that and averted her gaze. Before she could leave he asked:
"Have you eaten?"
"Not yet," she stopped in her tracks.
"Join me," his tone was softer than before and she found herself nodding at him.
He got up to bring plates from the kitchen, his back was turned to her. Not only she observed his tattoo but also the wound on his back which seemed like someone scratched him and she was reminded of the silverish-white hound she had fought a day earlier.
Could it be? She was sure he wasn’t human so could it be that he was a silver hound? She decided not to pry and observe him from afar and find this out on her own.
His back was all rippled muscles and showed the number of hours he had spent in training. The fact he was one of the most handsome men she had ever seen was unsettling to her. She couldn’t help but ogle at him until he turned and she lowered her gaze. Her ears were feeling extra hot.
Soon both of them settled down to eat and an awkward silence fell around them. Silver kept a stern expression to mask that he was aware of how her gaze occasionally roamed over his naked torso. This slightly affected him too and he could feel his face heating up.
Silver was not fond of vampires, he detested them and yet here he was sitting with one casually having dinner. He focused on the food but as soon as he lifted his head he found her staring at him.
"It’s rude to stare," he held her gaze and she didn’t blink away.
"I know. I think I should get going," she abruptly got up and before Silver could say anything, Rubisha left his condo, shutting the door behind her. She rushed to her own, breathing heavily.
’Who would have thought, hunters could be so handsome? I wanted to bite him more than I wanted to bite that chicken," lewd thoughts filled Rubisha’s head and she jerked it to escape them.
’I need to stay away from him and not make things awkward,’ she decided before changing and going to bed. Unknowing that this was only the beginning of her test of patience and soon she would lose it.
