Great Lake

As I continued to cross the great lake, the Monster Squid followed as well. I kept my eye on the monster. It could attack me again.

Not long after, two tentacles from the lake water came shooting towards me. I had anticipated the attack earlier, so I used my body to evade the tentacles.

As I escaped the attack, the tentacles hit the empty air. They failed to reach me. I continued flying fast ahead.

The 12th Order Monster Squid underneath the great lake was shocked.

This time, it wasn’t able to sense the strength of the young wizard.

The monster was hesitating. It didn’t know whether the young wizard above was a Forbidden Wizard.

The squid thought the young wizard might be carrying treasure with him.

The 12th Order Monster emerged from the lake. Its massive body came into view. The size of the monster was over 50 feet.

The monster appeared right below me. It had eight arms around it, and 2 long tentacles were ready to attack me.

The pressure immediately landed on the Monster Squid.

The gravitational force applied to the Monster Squid. The Monster Squid was caught off guard. The pressure struck its body.

The monster squid submerged underwater.

Using the opportunity, I fled from the place. In the blink of an eye, I widened the gap. The Monster Squid won’t be able to catch up to me.

The Monster Squid’s skin was torn apart. Purple blood bled from the wound. The monster was terrified. It underestimated the strength of the young wizard.

But judging from the magic attack, the young wizard was close to becoming a Magic Lord. So, it decided to give up. It feared the background behind the young wizard.

Time passed.

I saw the end of the great lake an hour later. My eyes flashed with relief. Then, I took out the raven aircraft.

The next moment, I entered inside and started driving the flying aircraft. Quickly, the raven aircraft left the great lake.

I saw the scene through the outside window. I didn’t know what happened to the monster squid, but I was sure it was not dead.

The raven aircraft then flew over the grassland. The land was plain, without a single monster or human habitat.

The raven aircraft continued to fly. It didn’t take long for me to notice something. I saw skyscrapers. A city appeared ahead.

Then, I took out the map and tried to find my current location. I saw the great lake on the map.

My gaze went past the great lake. Then, I saw the border of a tiny nation called the Golden Lion Country.

The border city was called Goldkeep City.

It belonged to a bloodline family. It was specifically marked on the map. I guess judging by the country’s name, the royal family there might have the golden lion bloodline in them.

I decided to make a stop there at the city and get some rest. When the aircraft got closer to the city, I put away the aircraft inside the system space.

Then, I landed on the ground wearing a mask. I also told the system to remove the shield so that others could see through my strength.

I found a road to the city and started traveling on it. The city gate came into view, but before that, I came across many wandering wizards.

I didn’t know what the condition was for the wandering wizards to enter the city. I didn’t want my identity to be exposed.

The road came to an end. Then, I saw others gathering before the gate. There was a greater number of wandering wizards than I had expected.

I began to hear the conversations of others. Soon, I discovered some positive news. The wandering wizards could pay mana stones to get a temporary ID to live in the city.

The temporary IDs had numbers. From the numbers, they could maintain a database. The crowd started increasing in front of the gate. It didn’t take long for the gates to open.

The guards stationed at the gate started issuing the IDs, but the wandering wizards and other visitors had to go through scanners.

Not only that, but their storage bracelets were also being checked. Seeing that, I was not surprised. It was a basic inspection.

The strength of some of the wandering wizards was not low. I even spotted a couple of Supremes among the wandering wizards.

There were also one or two Magic Lords. Then, my gaze fell on the scanner. The laser lights were scanning the wizards who had stepped inside.

It was advanced tech. It could detect whether the visitors were carrying magic artifacts. So, it was not a backward nation.

Then, I used my mental power to check my storage bracelet. I put away most of my things inside the system space.

I only left behind a couple of hundred low-grade mana stones and 46 mid-grade mana stones.

When my turn came, I stepped forward. The burly guard extended his hand. I removed my storage bracelet and gave it to him.

The two guards were taken aback by the masked man. They had thought of removing the mask, but when they probed the strength of the masked man, they withdrew their gazes.

Their expressions became respectful. They thought I could be someone from a respected force.

Since the person didn’t want to be exposed, they didn’t ask to remove the mask. But they did check the inventory.

They saw a couple of hundred mana stones and a few mid-grade mana stones. They were not surprised. Now, they were sure that the person was from a certain force.

Mid-grade mana stones are not easy to come by. Most of the wandering wizards are frugal. They won’t show off their mana stones.

Even if they had such mana stones, they would have hidden them somewhere before entering the city.
