Chapter 96: Addressing The Issue

"Welcome to the family."

Raiden chuckled and put his hand on top of her body.

"System, upgrade the potential, maximum times."

{Ding! Neva’s Potential is Being Updated: B → A (7/15)}

Neva closed her eyes in comfort as she felt the joy and pleasure of being upgraded by the system for the first time. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Shaa~~" (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)

"Alright, take caree of yourselvess. I am going to bedd."

After playing with Neva for half an hour, Ruby was the first one to leave the room, as she made her way towards her den in the living room.

Sylvia was next, who turned in much later reluctantly, after playing with Neva a lot.

Last to turn in was Raiden, who barely got Neva under control that night and coaxed her to sleep.

But his peaceful sleep didn’t last long at all, as he was rudely awakened by the poison notification in the middle of the night, with Neva now on top of his face once again, somehow, drooling in her sleep.

Woolie, on the other hand, was sleeping carefreely, smacking his lips together as if he was dreaming about eating something tasty in his sleep.

Looking at the peacefully sleeping spider, Raiden felt like it would be wrong to wake her up from sleep just for this.

But he was not a helpless person he had been a day ago; he was a man with an updated system now.

So he stayed put and let the poison run rampant through his body, making him weaker and weaker by the minute. Soon, three hours passed by, and just as he felt like he needed to wake her up to save him from dying, he finally heard the chime sound he was waiting for.

{971...986...997...Ding!! Congratulations host, your Poison Resistance has been increased to Level 2!!}

{Poison Resistance (Level 2): 1/2,000 EXP}

As soon as the poison resistance went up, Raiden felt his body was revitalised instantly, fighting back against the poison quickly and swiftly.

Soon, the feeling of weakness and helplessness due to poison started to fade away a little, but it was still present in the body, not enough to be deadly, but still enough to make him feel weak.

Feeling that he was out of danger now, Raiden didn’t feel like waking her up even more, letting her fall asleep and falling into a deep sleep himself. He figured that letting the poison run in his body the whole night might be enough to get another level up.

The next morning, he was woken up by the enthusiastic voice of Woolie.

Rubbing his eyes in his sleep, he saw Woolie leading a curious Neva towards something.

Seeing this, a bad feeling rose up in his chest. Raiden lost all his sleep in an instant and chased after both of

them at his fastest speed.

"Woolie, no!! Don’t corrupt her with your ideologies!! She is going to be a peaceful and non-violent Terra Beast in the future!!" Raiden shouted as soon as he caught up to them, only to find confused Woolie and Neva standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom.

"Shaa??" (OoO)

"Woo??" What’s wrong, human?? I was just showing my little sister around the whole house and taking her for a bath.

Raiden paused in his footsteps, not knowing what to say. Woolie was doing his best job, and he felt like a real big brother than him, who was still sleeping while his Terra Beasts took care of everything themselves.

"Woolie Woo!!" Are you here to take a bath with us?? If not, then go!! Don’t disturb us!!

"Sha Sha!!" The girl nodded, agreeing with Woolie as she jumped into the bathtub, playing with water happily.

Raiden soon found himself pushed out by both Woolie and Neva, who seemed to be happy in following her new big brother’s lead.

"Fine, fine, come downstairs for breakfast when you are done, okay?" Raiden shouted as they closed the doors behind him with a bang.

"Well, it’s a good thing they are distracted. I don’t want them to see the next thing I am about to do anyway." Raiden muttered under his breath with a dark look on his face as he made his way towards Ruby.

"Aunt Ruby, I am ready now. Let’s go take care of that issue." Raiden walked up to the crimson serpent that was sleeping on the sofa.

Hearing Raiden’s words, she opened her eyes and lifted her head up, staring into Raiden’s eyes deeply for a second, before moving her face away as she started leaving the house.

"Good. Follow mee~"

Raiden started walking after her, and they soon reached the newly massively built barn, which was reworked even more after Raiden purchased 100 Woollies, making it much bigger and more versatile for a living.

As soon as Ruby walked in, all the Woolies who were just waking up or doing their daily routine stopped in sync and bowed down together, calling her Mistress or Empress or something.

Ruby ignored all of them as she made her way to the back of the barn, where a small room was located.

"Are you sure you’re ready for this, Rai Rai?~ If you aree not, tell mee. I’ll take caree of it all myself~" Ruby asked one last time as she looked at him with concern.

If possible, she didn’t want to expose him to such a side of the world until he was much stronger, but his unique circumstances didn’t leave much of a choice for the boy, forcing him to grow up early.

But she felt like it’s not her place to make a decision for him.

So ultimately, she left the choice to him, whether to live a peaceful life or grow up early.

Raiden hesitated for a second before taking a deep breath and nodding his head.

"I am ready, Aunt. Please open the door."

"Alrightt~ It’s time to cleann the housee~" She muttered in a low voice before flinging the door open.

As soon as Raiden walked inside the room, he was instantly hit with the strong smell of metal and rust, overwhelming his senses, causing him to cover his face.

A few seconds later, just as he removed his hands from his mouth to take a look around the room, only to pause in horror.

Blood, the whole room was covered in blood, with scattered limbs and body parts spread across the room. Some human, some not so human.

And in the centre of it all were the human bodies, hanging from the ceiling, attached to a chain and a hook.

They barely looked alive as the blood dripped down their bodies slowly, drop by drop.

Looking at the sight in front of him that looked like it was straight out of a horror movie, Raiden’s face turned ashen white.

He felt something vile rise up his throat as he forced his body to force it down.

Even after preparing his mind for this, he was still not ready for what he had seen just now. His first instinct was to get out of here. But he forced himself to calm down and step forward, as he heard Ruby voice ringing in his ear.

"I have taken caree of the restt of the peoplee, Rai Rai~ Your only job noww, is to kill them all~"
