Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items - Chapter 28: Dealing with the Defiled
Seth arrived before the three abhorrent creatures, his body emanating a tempest of essence that billowed and spiraled in a royal purple hue.
Naturally, he caught their attention. Agitated screeches rang out as the three humanoid monsters rushed forward with zero hesitation.
One of them was a mutant eerily pleasing to the eyes, coated with a multicolored scaly hide. Its slit pupils carried an entrancing rainbow hue.
But it attacked, its claw riding the wind with no less ferocity and ruthlessness than a corrupted.
The second was a winged humanoid figure that glided through the air, its head practically a hollow white skull with flaming embers in the hollow depths of its eyes. Its wings, like a coat of shadow, beat against the wind as it struck down with the spear-like object in its hand.
As for the last, it was a beastly humanoid creature, like an obsidian-furred wolf given the form of a human.
Its eyes misted with shadows, its body completely pitch black. Its teeth bared as a sinister growl escaped its throat, its feral lethality in full display as it pounced forth in a rabid manner.
Seth’s eyes remained cold as he calmly assessed their auras.
Time crawled slow to his enhanced cognitive perception as his gaze rested on the wolf Defiled.
He squinted. It had the weakest aura compared to the rest, so... ’I’ll let the rest handle you.’
His blood stirred as he immediately activated his gene skill, his body taking a ruddy red hue, his fists pulsing with crimson light.
Armageddon was activated in its full glory, and unlike the last Defiled, he planned on taking his time this round.
He moved, his foot dug deep into the earth as he mustered force.
He swung his palm calmly, slapping a claw strike out of the way. Before the momentum shift could even apply to the enemy, his fist rode the wind, connecting with the scaled creature’s abdomen.
This time he toned down the annihilative properties of his skill, but even a filtered version of his strike was still a critical hit.
Black lightning crackled as a pulsing wave of black light dug into his foe’s body, sending bloody splits and cracks across its hide. It flew away from the impact.
Seth wasn’t done. He shifted his gait, avoiding a brutal plunge by the winged Defiled as it struck deep into the ground with its bone pike, sending cracks rippling with crimson light across the ground.
Seth’s pupils constricted as he leaped away, barely avoiding the eruption of energy that followed.
As soon as he landed, he lunged right back at the creature. The shockwave of the eruption barely fazed him, only ruffling his hair.
His gaze pulsed with brighter crystalline lights, and he reached behind the creature before it could take back to the skies.
His hands reached forth in a blur, grabbing hold of the monster’s wings. With zero lag, his leg stomped forward.
The Defiled could practically smell the danger wafting from the opponent behind it.
It squirmed and struggled, screeching and pulling to get free, but it was of no use. It couldn’t resist or escape Seth’s vice-like grip.
Bang!
Seth’s foot ruthlessly dug into the creature’s back, causing it to cave forward from the impact.
A faint noise of sickening bone cracking rang out, followed by a slow agonizing tear accompanied by a shriek of pain and an eruption of blood.
Two of its shadowy wings were ripped right out of its back, and the creature was sent flying.
Seth’s neck tingled as his instincts drove him to duck immediately, discarding the bloody wings.
A set of drooling maws clamped shut just where Seth’s head had been, biting air.
Spinning to face the creature, he grabbed it by the neck. His gaze flashed, but he didn’t attack, only proceeding to fling it toward his teammates.
’They should have no problem handling the mutt, right?’
Unfortunately, he could hardly worry for them for long, as a Defiled roared, its essence pouring in waves as a brilliant light erupted, pushing against the skies.
A Defiled had just activated its skill. Seth’s gaze turned solemn. ’It’s time to get serious!’
He zipped forward, drawing a purple streak across the land, colliding with a multicolored brilliant streak from the opposing direction.
Boom!
A torrent of raging, overwhelming strength poured into Seth’s arm as he blocked a strike from the monster.
He channeled the devastating force of the attack downward. The ground cracked and caved.
A Defiled would still be a Defiled!
The last opponent was several times weaker than this.
But this didn’t worry Seth. Instead, his eyes flickered with subtle glee.
’Doesn’t that mean they won’t break easily, even if I give it my all?’
His heart burned with anticipation. His mouth moved as he taunted: "Don’t die quickly, now!"
The Defiled replied with a furious roar and a wild barrage.
...
Boom!
A figure landed pathetically, sprawling and rolling into the supply building, destroying the outer wall in the process.
The Defiled got to its feet quickly, roaring to the ceiling in fury as it prepared to charge back toward Seth’s direction.
"Oh no you don’t!" Brandon declared, bursting in from nowhere, his speed charged with two jet-compressed flames bursting from his palms.
He spiraled in the air, landing a descending heavy strike with his legs.
The Defiled braced with its arms, and the leg whipped down, borrowing the force of momentum.
The Defiled’s hind legs dug deep into the ground, cracks running across the marbled surface.
But it remained unharmed. In fact, its fury exploded. How dare an ant challenge it?
It was furious that Seth had dealt with it so casually. Did that mean it was a pushover that any Tom, Dick, or Harry could deal with?
No! This was a Defiled — an elite stream of corrupted mutants that spread fear across the cosmos. They were known for being almost invincible against those in the same rank.
They were bona fide bosses that demanded a whole cohort if one dreamed of even attempting to bring them down.
Just because Seth was an anomaly who could handle them easily didn’t mean others deserved to treat them lightly.
The monster’s shoulders slanted back, its arm raised high, claws arcing as it swiped at Brandon.
How fast was his speed compared to the Defiled?
Not worthy of mention. He could barely even form a guard with a single arm before the claw arrived.
Crackkkk!
Ripples of terrifying force plowed into Brandon, his arm breaking at an odd angle. Cracks ran through the entire broken bone, and his figure was sent flying.
Jack and Elaine finally arrived to witness this sight.
Their hair stood on end as a stifling pressure wafted from the Defiled.
A reddish-black aura seeped into space from its figure. Its eyes, like deep endless unfathomable wells, turned in their direction.
Their hearts sank, but determination burned bright in their eyes.
Brandon’s pained voice came from the pit he formed on landing. Crawling out with an arm pathetically, he spoke: "How the fuck does big bro make it seem so easy?"
Well, the Defiled wasn’t interested in knowing. Its figure blitzed forward toward them, its wild roar reverberating through the building.
