Felix and Mia then spent the rest of the evening for the first time in two years with their parents.

When his family fell asleep, Felix quietly left their apartment unit and arrived at the spot where he exercised the first stage of Myriad Rain Immortal Scripture.

Now that he was at the second stage, the significance of his sword technique to progress lies more on comprehension. Of course, the execution highly depended on sword practice.

A condensed Energy left his sword and flew towards the big tree in a movement akin to a river aiming to strike down an obstacle blocking its path.

When the River Strike collided with the big tree’s trunk, it surprisingly pierced through it but failed to leave a hole due to its massive size.

Still, the impact was enormous and conspicuous, causing Felix to smile awkwardly.

I shouldn’t have done that. He thought.

Perceiving the guilt-stricken master, Rain communicated with Felix and surprisingly revealed to him that his water energy could stop the tree from bleeding.

Felix did as he was told and not only he infused the pierced trunk with water energy, he blended it with lunar energy after knowing it also possess healing effects.

He was successful, leaving him in awe.

I guess, there’s still much more to explore about Energy.

Felix continued practicing with Rain, while Moon, who was now resting at the branch of the big tree after knowing that Felix had no intention to shake it again, was enjoying his nap with the warmth of the moonlight.

When dawn arrived, Felix was surprised.

He had just realized he would have to come to mayor’s office by today and he had not taken a sleep yet.

A Commander Beast Tamer can skip a day of sleep, right?

He smiled as he returned to the apartment unit.

But Felix was surprised that his parents were already awake, cooking at this hour. When they saw Felix, Sarah just gave him a smile and said, "Such a hardworking, child. To think you’d wake up early just to practice."

Felix froze. He forced a laugh and returned to their room.

He then saw his parents’ beast pets cuddling with Mia, causing him to let out a smile. When Mia met them last night, the beast pets strangely became more enthusiastic when interacting with her, causing Felix to feel a bit jealous after he was ignored.

Before he went to sleep, he messaged Krisha first that he wanted to sleep for 3 hours at least before preparing to meet the mayor in his office.

Four hours later, the blue sedan was parked outside of the apartment building, waiting for Felix and his family. They had just arrived ten minutes earlier and Krisha was waiting inside while Lucia was patiently clutching the steering wheel, sweeping her gaze to observe any threats that might come.

Finally, Felix and his family appeared, and Felix had to open the blue sedan for his parents, who were completely shy.

Noah and Sarah kept bowing to Krisha out of politeness when they entered the blue sedan, while Krisha herself was flustered by their polite behavior that she stammered when greeting them.

Once Mia entered, she immediately hugged Krisha tightly, saying how she had missed her so much.

Felix watched them in silence with a smile as he entered and the blue sedan drove to the mayor’s office.

Since the blue sedan was in a hurry, it was permitted to ignore the traffic lights, understanding it belonged to the mayor’s daughter, as well as significant figure that required to meet the mayor—Felix and his family.

Hence, it only took them an hour to enter the mayor’s office.

The mayor’s office was ordinary and humble, with numerous papers piled in the table. Behind the mayor’s table was a windowpane, overlooking the city. The black obsidian obelisk stood tall and appeared conspicuous than any other.

There was only a single person inside the office—it was the mayor himself, Timothy Chamber III.

As soon as his gaze landed at Felix, he exuded a pressure that caused the latter to freeze. Krisha was not exempted, Lucia, who was not supposedly affected, felt the pressure and froze in his step.

Felix’s parents were unaffected, but surprisingly, Mia stiffened. She gazed at the mayor with extreme horror.

As soon as the mayor saw her expression, he immediately retracted his aura and smiled radiantly at her.

However, Mia was already afraid of him. Once she perceived she could move, she hastily moved behind Krisha’s back and peeked at the mayor with horrified expression.

Timothy glanced at his daughter and sighed. "She wasn’t supposed to sense it. I only directed it to Felix and you." He felt defeated.

Not only he was staring at two monsters that would surpass him in the future, but Mia had also shown her potential that was no lesser than them.

The future is bright. But I already feel older.

Krisha didn’t know what his father meant, but before she could further complain, the mayor said, "I’m gathering you here tonight to formally congratulate Felix for helping Doctor Eleanor produce and successfully create a cure to the Sleeping Hollow Disease that had existed when the black obsidian obelisk appeared."

He turned towards Sarah and Noah and stood up. He walked towards them and shook their hands one at a time.

He said, "Congratulations for giving birth to two finest children, who’ll shape the future of the Chambers City."

Sarah and Noah were so embarrassed that they almost panicked when the mayor shook their hands.

They replied in a stutter, "T-Thank you, Mayor!"

The mayor nodded and returned to his seat.

He said, "Just to let you know, Felix borrowed money from me. I don’t mind him repaying it even if it will take a decade, but, who would have thought he’d repay me now?"

Felix was stunned. I didn’t gather enough money yet! He thought.

The mayor noticed his reaction and chuckled.

He said, "This an international contribution. As a proud mayor of the city, where the cure was idealized by a single individual, it’s only right for me to reward him. Starting today, Felix’s borrowed money are cleared. That is my personal reward to him. Further reward will be discussed by Doctor Eleanor, the Beast Tamer Department, and me. Please wait for it until the Annual National Medical Assembly ends."

Felix smiled in relief. However, his parents interpreted his smile as a reaction of an ungrateful brat. Noah grabbed Felix’s head, with the latter’s long anticipation, and forced him to bow towards the mayor.

Noah said, "We are deeply thankful for the mayor’s assistance."

Felix was then forced by his father to repeat his words.

The mayor simply smiled at them. He saw Felix seemed to be uncaring and appeared to expect his reward and his smile widened.

The first time he saw Felix, the latter was depressed, as though he became a hollow shell of a person.

The mayor understood that reaction very well and had witnessed many beast tamer who committed suicide after learning they weren’t gifted enough to become a powerful beast tamer in the future.

Giving advice to Felix was purely out of reason to prevent him from becoming like them.

Well, he’s Krisha’s friend so I didn’t hold back at all in comforting him. Although, I didn’t expect a lot from him, aside from the fact that his summon is interesting and perhaps provide a glimpse of a better future, he still managed to surprise me.

I should not hold back in rewarding him. Krisha claimed that her and PengPeng’s potential elevated due to Felix’s presence. Though, she kept it ambiguous, she might have known something that I don’t.

These children... since when did they learn how to play with their seniors?

Just thinking about it made the mayor felt amused.

While he was lost in thought as Felix was sharing to his parents the reason, he borrowed money, the door was opened and Doctor Eleanor, accompanied by another beast tamer who exuded the same level of aura as her, entered.

The Hill family didn’t hesitate to pay respects to her as the Doctor Eleanor politely nodded and greeted them back.

Doctor Eleanor and the other Lord Beast Tamer greeted the mayor, with the former voicing out her greetings while the latter simply bowed his head in politeness.

He was no doubt a taciturn individual, similar to Master Shen.
