Chapter 123: Will You Be So Kind Enough to Produce One More Child?

The mayor introduced the Lord Beast Tamer to the Hill Family.

"This is Kaelor. The sole aerial guardian assigned to escort the Skyark–01 "Obsidian Wing." He’s also the Sky Marshal of Chambers City. He’s one of the strongest Lord Beast Tamer in the Chambers City. He’s a senior of Doctor Eleanor during their time in the Chambers College.

I hope you get along with him."

Sarah and Noah were the first to greet Kaelor, who simply responded with a slight nod. His expression was difficult to read and from his disposition, he obviously doesn’t enjoy long conversation.

By his appearance, the Hill Family was certain that their trip to the Clark City would be safe.

Kaelor wore a black longcoat reinforced with feathered steel, with rank insignias on his chest, and a mechanical left eye. He was no doubt experience in aerial position.

The position of the Sky Marshal was not light to begin with. It was higher than the General rank. It was equivalent to being a supreme commander of all aerial operations, strategic controller of sky routes, and protector of intercity transportations.

He was the only Sky Marshal to exist at his current time. In fact, as Felix recalled what he learned back in high school, Sky Marshal Kaelor was unarguably the best Sky Marshal the Chambers City had ever produced.

Although he was taciturn, as far as Felix knew, once Sky Marshal Kaelor would summon the Cloudbreaker Spear from his storage ring, the aura of a supreme commander in aerial position would manifest, seemingly changing his attitude to a hundred and eighty degree.

Felix admired him greatly. Sky Marshal Kaelor, tracing back his roots, became known because of the beast he summoned back then, which had the potential to reach its current evolution state—a Tempest-Crown Roc.

It might not be as stronger as the Stormedcrown Roc of the mayor, it was already at its peak at the Unique rank.

Felix didn’t hide his admiration to Sky Marshal Kaelor. To his surprise, Sky Marshal Kaelor beamed a smile at him.

He finally said a few words, "I know you."

Felix chuckled. He was a bit embarrassed.

Krisha, who was listening, decided to greet Sky Marshal Kaelor by replying to him, "Everybody does."

Sky Marshal Kaelor turned towards Krisha and bowed slightly. It was not because of Krisha’s potential, but with her identity as well, being the daughter of the mayor and the previous Adventurer Guildmaster.

Not only he admired her strength after the battle, he admired her parents, as well.

Krisha was amused by his greetings.

He thought. At least, he’s way better than Master Shen.

"We will be in your care, Sky Marshal Kaelor."

"My pleasure." His voice was deep and unshaken.

"Tomorrow," said the mayor. "You will be leaving to the Clark City."

Felix turned towards the mayor and didn’t hesitate to ask, "The Annual National Medical Assembly is hold at the end of the week, right?"

Doctor Eleanor replied on the mayor’s stead, "Yeah, but it takes days to travel to reach the Clark City. We are actually quite far from it."

"I mean." Felix turned towards Doctor Eleanor and asked, "After the Annual National Medical Assembly, we barely have time left to prepare for the entrance examination of the Chambers College. Will it be fine to for me and Krisha to have our second summon in the Clark City?"

As far as Felix could remember, most of the beast tamer treated the black obsidian obelisk in the Clark City as a pilgrimage.

After all, it was the First Obelisk of the humanity. Legend had said that those who had their summon held at the First Obelisk would often receive Echo Resonance, experiencing vision of ancient battlefields, forgotten beast species, even extinct civilizations, and the most mysterious of it all was the primordial creatures.

Some Beast Tamer would even hear unknown voices that spoke of ancient language.

Felix wanted to have his second summon at the First Obelisk and would discover first-hand whether the rumor was true or not.

Before Doctor Eleanor could respond, the mayor instantly replied, "Of course."

It was pleasant to Felix’s ears.

"That is also one of the main reason I send you and Krisha there. My third summon happens to be there, like any other Lord Beast Tamer did and I could say the rumor was true. However, the experiences vary differently."

The mayor then fell into deep contemplation. And hope that the First Obelisk, the most mysterious object that protected us for years will finally be opened to you and my daughter. If that happens, then you two will become the champion of humanity.

From the previous meetings annual meeting by the mayors, the latter assumed that the pattern of strange summon like Felix’s sword was linked to the very reason the beast wave existed. Until now, the mayors were still communicating and investing on those beast tamers who strangely summoned different summons.

Timothy Chambers III speculated that a great change might occurred in the world. Just thinking about it made his hair stood on ends.

He was a mayor, one of the pillars of the humanity and yet the great change that he believed was about to come would make him feel insignificant.

He silently sighed. I hope I’m overthinking things.

"What are you thinking about?" Krisha asked. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

After noticing his father fell into deep contemplation once he assured Felix, she began walking towards him. She was certain that his father might be lost in his own thoughts as his eyes were zoned out.

While Felix and Doctor Eleanor had a discussion, with the former’s family and Sky Marshal Kaelor listening to the side, Krisha finally decided to ask his father what he was worried about.

Timothy simply shook his head and replied, "Judging from the quality of your Energy, you shouldn’t be far from reaching Commander Rank 3, right?"

Krisha was a bit stunned. She wanted to pursue the topic but his father’s changed topic was difficult to be ignored.

She replied, "Yes."

"Why didn’t you get a beast pet earlier, though?"

Krisha was in disbelief. "PengPeng had just matured from his juvenile stage. You want me to raise another beast pet again? Then, there will also be another one coming. I should take it easy."

Timothy was surprised. "Take it easy? You reached Commander Rank 2 in the span of more than a month! Then, as if you don’t feel it’s not enough, you’re hungry to grow stronger just to defeat Felix. I didn’t expect to hear those words from you."

Krisha rolled her eyes. "I’m not that impatient. I’m growing at my own pace and I’m not harming myself because of it."

The pair of father and daughter continued their conversation while Felix and others were engaged in a discussion as well, leaving his parents unable to keep up with the topic.

Eventually, lunch arrived and the mayor invited them to eat at his private dining room at the same building.

He had his own chef as well, so even Doctor Eleanor and Sky Marshal Kaelor didn’t reject his invitation.

They ate heartily. What was even more surprising was the Energy radiated from Mia after eating a meal consisted of beasts at Rare rank and above.

Supposedly, for individual like her who had not anchored their soul to other dimension to awaken their affinity with Energy, they shouldn’t even perceive nor absorb Energy to their body.

Not only she absorbed the Energy, she also released them as her body still has not developed to a phase it could contain the Energy.

There was no repercussion, Mia also seemed unaware about it.

Felix perceived the strange phenomenon occurring from Mia and couldn’t help but be worried.

Of course, Guide had already clarified and assured that his worries were superfluous and it was even beneficial for Mia.

Even then, he wanted to receive assurance from Doctor Eleanor, as well.

Staring intensely at Doctor Eleanor, who kept a poker face and focused eating on her meal, to force her to explain, Doctor Eleanor eventually broke her facade.

She sighed and turned towards Mia.

At this point, Felix’s parents had also confirmed there was a serious incident about Mia that happened during the meal.

Doctor Eleanor said, "If you’ve noticed, most of the Sleeping Hollow Disease victims were children. It was simply because of their exceptional high beast affinity, or because of unusual strong spiritual sensitivity, and their body develops too slow to support it.

As for those adults or beast tamer who got contacted with Sleeping Hollow Disease, the reason is unstable beast resonance. I’ll explain it in the Annual National Medical Assembly.

Anyway, what you have just seen is the result of Mia awakening her higher growth potential, even when she’s far from being suitable to anchor her soul in the black obsidian obelisk.

She could sense Energy early, absorb and release them as though he’s a perfect place for the Energy to temporarily stay.

That’s just one part of it. I still have more theories but I can’t prove them yet, not yet as Mia is still growing."

Everyone felt assured by Doctor Eleanor’s explanation. At the same time, they gazed at Mia with different eyes.

One at a time, the mayor started staring at Noah and Sarah. Sky Marshal Kaelor followed, as well.

Krisha gazed at his father and tugged his shoulder.

She whispered, "You’re making them uncomfortable with your gaze."

However, Timothy ignored her and asked Sarah and Noah, who finally gathered their courage to meet their eyes.

"Will you be so kind enough to produce one more child?"
