Legendary Beast Tamer: Starting With Legendary Rank Sword
Chapter 124: It Might Not Be Bad
Krisha was so embarrassed by her father that she slapped her face.
Unbelievable. She felt stressed.
Faced with the mayor’s unexpected question, the Hill Family didn’t know how to react. Sarah and Noah were speechless after their mind turned blank.
Felix suddenly chuckled, waking them up from their reverie.
He replied on their stead, "After Mia got sick, even if they didn’t tell me, they were very discouraged to birth another sibling of mine. But, in the near future, who knows?"
Felix’s lips curled upward. Sarah pinched Felix’s calf and smiled awkwardly to the mayor.
She said, "W-We will consider it."
In fact, she felt even more worried to produce another child. What if they turned out ordinary? Just thinking about what they might felt growing up and realizing they would become an ordinary people unlike his brother and sister discouraged them even more.
After all, they had shared experience being an individual with no potential while their siblings were acquiring higher job position because they had promising future.
However, the mayor didn’t think the same. He believed that Sarah and Noah could produce another genius.
The statistics already said so. They produced only two children and they both possessed immense potential, who could surpass him.
Hence, the mayor’s eyes sparkled. "I’m looking forward to it. I want to be their Godfather."
Krisha couldn’t restrain herself from covering the mouth of her father as she hurriedly apologized to the Hill couple.
Sarah and Noah didn’t want her to apologize so they repeatedly assured her it was more than fine.
After all, just based on the gazes of Doctor Eleanor and Sky Marshal Kaelor, even they felt the same as the mayor.
The lunch proceeded peacefully afterwards, having a light hearted conversation—though, Krisha kept feeling embarrassed by her father throughout.
Eventually, they finished lunch and Doctor Eleanor and Sky Marshal Kaelor bid farewell, saying they would prepare for tomorrow’s travel.
Sky Marshal Kaelor said they would travel at exactly 12pm and asked the Hill Family if it would be possible to arrive an hour before the departure.
The Skyark-Class Transit Vessel airport were located in the east side of the upper inner ring. The main reason it wasn’t placed at the edge of the lower inner ring or even the lower outer ring was for the citizens to witness every travel of the Obsidian Wing.
Gazing at it in the sky in the ordinary citizens’ eyes would evoke the feeling of safeness and and a realization of progressive future of the humanity.
It was inevitable that they felt unsafe with the constant beast wave threatening the Chambers City. There has also been records in the past about many cities falling into ruins because of the beast wave.
To provide constant reassurance to them, the Obsidian Wing was exposed every time it travel—once and twice per month.
Like the Hill Family, it would also be the first time for Krisha to be a passenger in the Obsidian Wing.
In the past, whenever she traveled into another city, she accompanied her father by riding on his Stormcrowned Roc. It was safer than Obsidian Wing, after all.
The Hill Family then announced their departure after asking the mayor about the procedure and the requirements to acquire the seat in the Obsidian Wing. Thankfully, the mayor had already assured them he had already registered their seat and all they had to do was to pass the required documents.
The Hill Family thanked the mayor as they took their leave. Mia was unwilling at first, having no choice but to reluctantly bid farewell to Krisha.
She had been clinging to her whenever she had the chance and thankfully Krisha was patient enough to engage in a conversation with her.
...
It was finally the first day of the last week of July. Morning arrived and Felix, as usual, was now sleeping in his own bed in their room.
Mia was now chatting with her parent’s beast pets. Surprisingly, the latter were enthusiastic and more cuddling to her than they were to Felix.
Mia glanced at her big brother and suddenly a thought arose. Her lips curled upward, as she hurriedly left the bed and was then being followed by the curious beast pets.
Mia arrived into the kitchen, where her parents were preparing their breakfast.
She went closer to them and just as her mother was about to ask, she said, "Mother, you don’t know about big brother’ sleeping schedule, right?"
Sarah was surprised. She frowned. "What do you mean?"
Mia grinned. "He never sleep at night at all! From what I could remember from Big Sister Krisha, he usually took seven hours of sleep starting at the morning until he was only sleeping five hours. Yesterday, it should only be three hours. He had never rested since then."
Sarah gasped in surprise. It took her sometime to process her emotion and finally acknowledged she should scold Felix.
She was about to tell Mia that she would reprimand Felix, but Noah said, "At Commander Rank, his body can now endure the intensity of his training. He can now sleep less and eat less. There’s no need to worry, I think. It’s not now at the time where he had to pressure himself like before when he was in the dojo. He’ll rest if he have time."
Noah gently patted Sarah’s back to calm her down. "He’s also a grown up, he can take care of himself."
Sarah was stunned. She was enlightened.
She dazed at Mia and felt melancholic. Her children were growing up. Felix could now take care of himself. Mia would soon follow him.
For some reason, she recalled the mayor’s words and her cheeks reddened.
It might not be bad to produce another.
Just as he was lost in thought, Mia’s mood sunken as she turned around, going towards their room.
Noah and Sarah glanced at each other and smiled.
Noah said, "I guess, they are still children."
Sarah nodded. "It might not be bad to have another one."
Noah was stunned.
